Chapter 2

Gripping Aaron's shirt tighter: the green eyed figure stared down at him with distain. It had taken a few moments of silence for the grip to slack.

"I see. You're the new Omega".

Before Aaron could get in a word he was tossed aside onto the red carpet like a sack of dirty laundry.

Falling with a loud thud; Aaron looked up at the figure. The flames of the fireplace now illuminating his figure. Tall and somewhat slender. He could tell by his clothing that he was quite muscular underneath. He was adorned with fine jewels which draped this gentleman's coat. His hair almost the color of a pale sun. His delicate skin shimmering.

Aaron couldn't disagree that this man was very handsome.

"Definitely late twenties" Aaron murmured, almost mesmerized.

"I wasn't informed that the propagation was tonight". His voice held no hint of interest. It was as cold as the weather on the outside of the walls.

"Propagation?" Aaron finally spoke. He was smart but even that word was throwing him for a loop.

The emerald eyed man froze.

His dark and gaze fell back onto the Omega who had remained on the floor.

"If you were not sent here...why ARE you here?" He hissed between his gritted teeth.

Aaron quickly got to his feet.

"Listen! I think there has been some sort of misunderstanding here!" He defensively stepped back.

"I was actually not supposed to be in here. I was actually looking for-"

"Save your excuses". The man's voice low and dark.

"From my view, it looks as if a lowly Omega couldn't stand to follow orders, that he could find a fortune for himself through thievery. Is that what this is? You came in here thinking you could steal from me?"

Aaron was backed into a corner before he even realized it.

"Don't think yourself a cunning brat. There have been many before you who have tried and where do you think they are now?"

Aaron didn't have to think. He gulped as the man now learned over him. His eyes full of hate.

"I screwed up." He grimaced to himself.

Before another word could be spoken between them the door to the room sprung open.

"Oh THERE you are. I've been looking all over for you!"

Another gentleman strided into the room. He was a bit taller than the blonde man that stood before Aaron.

He held an elegant aura about him. Jet black hair that came to the lower neck. Slicked back on one side. Wearing a black suit that had the top three buttons undone, revealing a portain of his chest.

"My my brother, have you taken a liking to him as well?" The black haired man's steely eyes fixated on the pair.

"Zane." The blonde haired man acknowledged the other.

"If you don't mind my dear brother he was accompanying me first and this sweet little lamb ran off an got lost.

Aaron and the blonde simultaneously gave a disgusted look at his words.

"So if you don't mind..." Zane reached his hand out and took Aaron's, pulling Aaron close to him.

"Come now Zeke, you'll get your chance just wait your turn."

Aaron looked at the emerald eyes that bore into Zane's skull.

"Just go.."

Zeke didn't seem to have the patience to deal with his brother.

"So scary, Zane sneered. He pushed Aaron out of the room and shut the doors behind him. The last look Aaron got was of Zeke's bare back as he undressed.

"You're going to be a handful aren't you?"

Zeke lifted Aaron's chin with his index finger. His lively mood gone in an instant. Instead now stood a hungry beast waiting for the chance to eat him.

Aaron jerked his head away.

"Sorry for the trouble. Thank you". He attempted at sounding sincere enough to his rescuer.

Zeke gave a disgruntled look.

"You may want to try and get a little better at lying", He grinned.

"I would have thought that an Omega, of all people, would have the brains to stay in its place: out of trouble". Zeke stood with his index finger and thumb caressing the underside of his chin.

"Instead here it is like a lost puppy."

Aaron didn't look at the man.

"Seeing as though you've angered the prince of the house: you're off to a terrible start."

Aaron looked at Zeke.

"Oh you know..." Zeke pointed towards the room the three of them were just in.

"Zane Fletch: the undeniable next heir of this family and you being here only means our father is securing our future with you-" He paused his mild speech as he pressed his finger against Aaron's abdomen.

"An Omega surrogate bought with the only purpose of carrying the next heir." Zeke's eyes narrowed.

"And with the success of that job your family gets paid a substantial sum to possibly set them for life."

"But of course..." Zeke lowered his finger.

"That's ONLY if you succeed. And from the looks of your track record I would probably guess you'll only last here a month."

He leaned in closer to Aaron.

"Did you really break the last homeowners nose?" He cocked his head to the side in wonder. His voice just above a whisper.

"Bastard had it coming", Aaron retorted.

Zeke grinned again.

"I like you". His eyes flashed with mischievous intent.

"Such a shame I can't have you". He took some strands of Aaron's brown hair and twisted them between his thumb and index.

"However I do believe it's past time for you to be in your quarters."

Before Aaron could react: Zeke clapped his hands together twice. Two men appeared from what seemed like out of nowhere.

"Please see to it this little Omega gets back to his room safe an sound". He smiled: keeping in eye contact with Aaron.

"And be sure he stays put". His smile disappearing as the two men drug Aaron back to his wing.

Upon arrival back in the room the men threw Aaron inside and slammed the door shut. He was alone once more. He heard a distinguished click as the door had locked. He was stuck in there for the rest of the night.

The following morning Aaron awoke to the same four maids from the night before. Surrounding his bed they held a fresh change of clothing: just as plain looking as the ones he had worn all night.

The red haired maid stepped forward as he was changing.

"Once you are finished we have been instructed to take you to the family's physician. You will be examined thoroughly before meeting with Lord Fletch."

Aaron pulled the plain shirt over his head.

"Why a Doctor?"

"To ensure your health of course." She gave a sweet smile. It was enough to churn Aaron's stomach.

Just as the maid had said: he was lead to a small physician's room on the main floor. He was given a standard physical. Teeth were healthy, lungs sounded clear: a strong heart: everything was normal.

"And as for your last heat, when was that?" The doctor asked, pen in hand.

Aaron found it to be a pretty embarassing question.

"Last month.." He mumbled.

"So it seems your next one is soon. Good!" He clicked his pen.

Once finished Aaron was shuffled around again to the main parlor from the night before. He stood outside of the room as the maid had announced his arrival.

"Enter" A low, strong, voice summoned Aaron. Entering the room he looked around discreetly. Lord Fletch was sitting in a main armchair towards the center of the room. On his right couch sat Zeke. He legs crossed and sitting up with an elegant posture. The prime portrait of a gentleman. Sitting across on another fine couch was Zane. His posture upright. Leg crossed and hands diligently in his lap.

Aaron was shuffled to the back of the room from them. The doctor came in as well.

"Well?" Lord Fletch motioned for the doctor to speak.

"Apologies sir. Everything was well. This young man is in very fine condition. I should see no problems with a young Omega like him bearing offspring."

Lord Fletch nodded.

"It seems like my investment didn't go to waste after all. I suppose I find myself lucky this one wasn't full of diseases considering the living conditions it had lived in."

Lord Fletch waved his hand off towards the Man.

The doctor took his leave: leaving Aaron alone in the room. A strong silence had covered them. Only the crackling on the fireplace was heard.

"Now then", Lord Fletch's thunderous voice broke the silence.

"Aaron Winter, you are under the house of Fletch and you shall abide by our rules. If you disgrace our family name in any way you will be handed over to the hovels of the city where you will spend the rest of your days paying off every last piece of silver I spent on you." His voice cold and eyes harsh. Aaron was made aware of his situation.

"Furthermore you will not leave the northern wing of the house, where your room is. Your meals will be delivered there and you will come when commanded is that clear?"

Aaron nodded his head. Keeping his gaze to the floor as Lord Fletch continued.

"Your work in this house is to carry the heir of this family. More importantly my youngest son's heir", He motioned to Zane.

"He is the dominant Alpha and you will refer to him as such."

Aaron looked over. Zane didn't so much as flinch. He refused to meet Aaron's eyes.

"When you are in heat you WILL report it to your maids. As well as a propagation ceremony twice a month until conceiving."

All of this made Aaron's stomach churn. His whole life he avoided people like them. Not wanting anyone to touch him. Yet here he was.

Not only that, He could tell the lord only thought of him as an item: a tool.

He was used to being called many names but 'it' took the cake.

Aaron nodded his head again.

Zeke caught his eye in a split moment. He gave a secretive wink. Reminding Aaron of their conversation from last night.

"That is all. Take your leave now" Lord Fletch flicked his wrist in almost disgust.

The maids shuffled him out of the room.

Before he knew it he was back in the same four walls. On his side table was a tray of breakfast consisting of porridge and some kind of meat product.

The food wasn't bad.

He laid on his back and stared up at the ceiling.

The silence ate at him.

He sprung up from his horizontal position.

Walking over to his door he knocked lightly on it.

"Is uhm..anyone there?" Aaron felt odd asking.

The door clicked open.

"What can I do to help you Sir Winter?"

The red haired nurse.

"Well actually, what's your name?"

She seemed to be taken back.

"Me? Uhm, my name is Anna."

"Can I call you miss Anna then?" Aaron placed his hands on his hips.

"Of course Sir." She gave a bashful grin.

Aaron found it odd but disregarded her reaction.

"Do I have to stay inside at all times or is there somewhere I can go for fresh air?"

Anna pondered for a moment.

"Well you see, Lord Fletch made it clear that you stay here and come when called."

Aaron pouted a bit.

"You mean to say I can't even get fresh air for my body? I thought I was supposed to stay healthy for that young lord?"

Anna pondered again.

Aaron wasn't wrong.

"Well...I suppose some time in the gardens shouldn't hurt..." She murmured.

"Perfect!"

Aaron jumped at that chance. He grabbed his jacket.

"Show the way!"

Anna slid Aaron out a servants staircase to the gardens out back. The stone steps echoed as they stepped down them.

She opened a small door as the bright light of the sky nearly blinded them.

Aaron shoved his hands in his pockets as he stepped onto the crisp, freshly fallen, snow.

He exhaled into the sky as his frosty breath drifted up.

Taking a good look around, there was a three meter high brick wall that covered the exterior of the grounds.

"That lord sure is a private guy" Aaron murmured.

He turned back to Anna who was looking around.

He felt like an imposition.

"Just give me a few minutes and then I'll return back to my room."

Aaron tried reassuring her. He didn't want her in any trouble. As if getting fresh air was grounds to being beaten.

He stood in front of the far wall. A structure that well towered over his head.

He let out a long sigh.

"Looks like I'm gonna have to find a different way to escape".
