Ming Lan's birthday (1)

The shadow sat down some distance away from Qiyi and took out his own bottle of wine from his space pouch.

They spent the entire night sitting by each other without saying a single word.

At the time when the sun was rising, the man stood up to leave.

"Thank you for your company."

Qiyi simply hummed to which the shadow who seemed to be a man didn't say anything and jumped off the roof to another roof. Following this pattern, he exited the Sua household.

Some minutes after the man had left, Qiyi also stood up to leave.

She turned away from the rising sun and proceeded back to her room.

If the man had seen her now, he would have still been unable to see Qiyi's smiling face beneath the veil. As she returned to her room, she looked once it the direction the man had left and murmered to herself, "The royal family has a lot of time..."

Qiyi was awoken by her maids at around 8 am and was helped to change into better clothes.

She then went to accompany her father for breakfast.

The father daughter pair happily ate their breakfast in perfect harmony.

When Sua Hei Long was leaving, he received a small peck from Qiyi on his cheeks.

The old man was stunned but then he happily skipped off for the morning court.

Qiyi giggled at the man's silliness. She returned to her room where she saw Anya, Si Weng and Si Meng choosing her outfit for the evening.

She walked to her inner room and sat opposite to breezy night Qin.

"Hm.... should I give you a name? Breezy night Qin seems too long.... "

Qiyi contemplated this for a long-long time until she finally decided on a name.

"I know! I shall name you Qing Feng (breezy)!"

As if approving to the name, the strings of the Qin strummed on their own which scared Qiyi shit less.

"You.... You can understand me?"

Qiyi asked and she was answered with the strumming of the strings once again.

"That's great. My name is Qiyi."

Qing Feng started playing a slow beat as if to entertain Qiyi and so they spent the entire afternoon like that. Listening to the strumming of beats and the occasionally talking of Qiyi.

Finally, the two were interrupted by Si Weng.

"Miss, it's time to change your clothes."

Qiyi nodded and kept back Qing Feng into the ring.

She then proceeded to the clothes room where Anya and Si Meng were waiting.

Qiyi was made to change into a pale blue hanfu which had a double layer of deep blue fabric underneath. The sleeves had a mixture of light blue, white and navy blue. On the pale blue skirt was the embroidery of a electric blue rose. It looked stunning. As for her hair, it was left open with a bun on top. The bun was decorated with two hairpins which were silver in colour and had beautiful plum blossom figures attached to it.

It looked stunning.

Next came the makeup.

Anya applied light golden shade on her eyes and as for her lips, a red lip tint was applied to brighten the already cherry like lips. They also added some rose water for moisture.

Finally done with their masterpiece, the three girls moved back and observed their beautiful mistress.

"Miss, you look beautiful."

Anya complimented.

"Thank you for your hard work."

Qiyi was impressed by their handwork. They put so much effort.

"It is our honour." Si Meng and Si Weng answer in unison.

After that, they proceeded to enter the carriage waiting for them at the entrance of the residence. After Qiyi was settled, the carriage drove off.

Outside the Ao household, Ning Cai Shan and Ao Ming Lan waited for their friend's arrival.

"Where is she?" Ming Lan asked us she was filled with anticipation.

"She'll be here soon."

Cai Shan comforted Ming Lan though she was also an excited as her friend to meet Qiyi again.

After some time, a carriage with the insignia board of a wolf arrived.

Th carriage stopped in front of Ao residence and Anya got off.

She helped Qiyi get down.

"You're late!"

Ming Lan hugged Qiyi the second she got off the carriage.

"We haven't even greeted the elders yet! Hurry up! "

Ming Lan and Cai Shan dragged Qiyi into the household and led her to a big hall where the birthday event was being held and their three maids: Anya, Bao Bao (Ao household maid) and Wuya (Ning household maid) followed after their misses.

The hall was filled with guests but the centre of attention was definitely the three elders at the very centre of the hall.

The three elders were: Royal tutor Cai Sun, Great general Ao Dong Bai and one of the richest merchants of Xia country Song Zang.

Ming Lan and Cai Shan dragged Qiyi to those three elders and said in unison, "Greetings to elders."

The three men looked at their little ones and smiled.

"Ho-Ho! Xiao Lan, who is this lady?"

Ming Lan introduced Qiyi.

"This is my friend, Sua Qiyi."

Hearing about the "Sua" the three elders looked at each other.

"Greetings to elders. This one's name is Sua Qiyi."

"Get up child." Song Zang says and helps Qiyi straighten herself.

"You're Hei's daughter?"

Ao Dong Bai asks.

"Yes." Qiyi affirms.

"How's that old man been?" Song Zang asks. He had just returned from his two month trip to Qin Country and wanted to know about his old friend.

These three friends had lost much contact with Hei Long who was heartbroken from Qi Rong's death.

"He's been well. I would very much appreciate it if the three elders would visit that old man of mine. He always wears a sad smile that it's annoying. I hope you'll bash him up a bit."

"...." Ming Lan and Cai Shan.

"...." The three elders.

"...." The three maids.

Suddenly, a laugh broke the awkward atmosphere.

"I'm glad he has a daughter like you."

Tutor Cai Sun said wiping away his tears which were slipping from his eyes which appeared vigilant and seemed to hold great knowledge.

"Haha! you are indeed Qi Rong's daughter." Song Zang laughed.

Ao Dong Bai smiled seeing his two friends laughing and answered with a mischeviousness grin.

"We will certainly visit that old fox!"

He bellowed but soon he was hit by someone on his head.

"Who's so gutsy!?!"

He turned around in fury only to be greeted by a shocking person.

"You.... "

Cai Sun and Song Zang stood frozen while Cai Shan and Ming Lan bowed in greeting.

"Greetings to elder."

The elder mentioned nodded and then looked at the three other elders and said angrily.

"Who's the old fox?!?"
