Seeing the familiar black and brown locks swinging behind Dr. Van's shoulder, Morpheous knew it was her.

"Dr. Caroline? I thought you were not coming?" Elora asked the moment she caught sight of Caroline. Almost like an impulse response. It made Dr. Van turn back immediately.

"Caroline! You came?" He exclaimed, his face visibly surprised yet pleased with her presence.

"Second thoughts!" She said and shrugged her shoulder. For a moment, her eyes landed on Morpheous, but in the next, she averted them and looked at Dr. Van with a smile.

Not knowing why his insides cringed how she looked at Dr. Van fondly.

"Let me check," Dr. Van said and immediately placed the back of his palm on her forehead and then lowered it, resting along the side curve of her neck. Normal. This was something perfectly normal. A doctor checking on another. But Morpheous could feel a strange turmoil inside him.
