The tale of the kerchief - 2

"Caroline! Look at me!"

Morpheous crawled next to her and tried to hold her firm as she winced.

"It burns… It burns like hell. Make it stop… Make it stop, Morpheous."

He gently turned her and watched the trident on her back turn all red. No wonder she was in pain.

He quickly lifted her in his arms and rushed towards the bathroom. He turned on a cold shower and stood underneath it, holding her tenderly while his mind cursed him for not being able to tame his desires.

She kept bawling under the shower, and it seemed like the ice-cold water was unable to give her any respite.

But all of a sudden, something struck him like a bolt of lightning, and he rushed back to the bedroom along with her.

"Hang in there, Caroline! Just hang in there for a second more!"

And saying that, he gently placed her drenched body on the bed and picked up the kerchief she had asked him to remove.
