6 Betrayal

A few minutes passed by and Heaven felt the car come to a stop, a second later, the door was opened by Adam.

Exiting the car, Heaven looked at the house before him.

It wasn't the biggest house, nor was it the smallest, but it held a large part of his heart.

Heaven looked at his house for a while before turning to Adam who had already brought his luggage to him.

Smiling, Heaven told Adam, "Thank you, Adam. I won't be heading anywhere else for the day, so you can rest for the day if you'd like."

"Thank you, sir."

Adam gave a light nod of the head before he returned to the car and left.

Seeing him leave so decisively, Heaven could only smile wryly.

'I'm not that important yet,' thought Heaven with a shake of his head.

Grabbing his items, Heaven walked to the front door of his family's house before taking out his key to the house.

Smiling, Heaven unlocked the door and entered with his items.

Setting them down to the side, Heaven walked to the kitchen all excitedly.

Inside the kitchen, Heaven found his beautiful mother at the table looking at the bills. His heart was pounding and he had an unknown desire take root in his heart as he looked at his mother.

Shaking his head, Heaven got rid of the feeling and gazed at his mother.

She was a charming and mature woman at 40 years of age.

Despite her age, she had very little wrinkles and was a very curvaceous woman since she would work out quite often at home. She would dress conservatively when she would leave the house since she disliked attracting the gazes of perverts.

She had beautiful gray eyes and wavy black hair that just made her look seductive, especially so with the beauty mark under her left eye.

Wearing a long white dress that went down past the knees, a black ribbon around her slim waist and a short black vest over it at the top. Her black hair was tied up in a bun with only two styled strands of hair to the sides of her face.

A very charming woman indeed.

"Mom! I'm back," Heaven declared softly as he approached his mother from behind.

"Heaven! Oh my goodness! What are you doing here honey?" asked Victoria as she stood up instantly. She looked at Heaven with a surprised look on her face before hugging her son excitedly.

Heaven smiled and casually responded to her question, "Just some work… with the rising star of engineering, Howard Stark."

"That sounds fun! But what about your classes?"

"I was told that if I make promising progress with the work assigned to me by Howard, I wouldn't need to worry about school."

Heaven and Victoria talked and the worries and stress they both accumulated over the years they were separated dispersed a little between their fun banter.

Seeing the smiling face of his mother, Heaven just couldn't tell his mother how he was bullied in school.

"Where's Santos, mom?" Heaven asked as he looked around for his younger brother.

Hearing the mention of Heaven's younger brother, Santos, Victoria could only sigh in exasperation.

"You know how he is. He gets home and leaves to hang out with his friends," said Victoria, returning her focus to the bills.

Shaking his head, Heaven went back for his stuff before he made his way to his old room.

Despite Santos being 4 years younger than him, Santos was a lot more independent compared to him. Yet Heaven couldn't help but worry since his little brother would often hang out with the wrong crowd.

'I need to talk with him…' thought Heaven as he moved to unpack his stuff before beginning to study. He couldn't continue talking with his mother right now since she was looking at bills and taking care of the economic situation at home.

Even with the money he would earn from some small jobs at school that he would send home, his mother struggled to make ends meet.

With the money that he earned, Heaven would give his mother 90% of his earnings no matter how much he gained to help pay the bills. His mother worked, but her pay just wasn't enough to survive.

There was a time when their family, before he graduated from high school, went three whole days without food just to pay the bill for the house.

During those days, Heaven would bring back some apples and oranges he was given at school for his mother.

Ever since his father left his mother 12 years ago for another woman, Victoria had struggled to keep their family from going broke. In the place of his sorry ass of a father, Heaven helped support his mother by offering help and love to ease her worries and pain.

***

Woof!

Snapping out from his study time due to the bark of a neighborhood dog, Heaven checked the time.

8:12 PM

Looking out his window, Heaven sighed as he looked at the dark sky.

Heaven got off his chair and headed straight to the kitchen to get some food.

Just as Heaven sat down at the dining table to eat, he found his mother preparing to head out.

Scrunching his eyebrows together, Heaven called out to his mother.

"Mom! Where are you going?"

"Heaven? I'll be right back, I'm going to look for your brother. He hasn't come back yet," Victoria worriedly said as she put on a jacket.

Frowning, Heaven stood up without saying a word and stopped his mother.

"Mom, you can't go anywhere at this time of the night. You are a beautiful woman. I'm afraid of what those thugs out in the streets will want to do with you," Heaven said worriedly as he removed the jacket from his mother.

His worry and cautiousness showed as he took care of his mother.

"Don't worry, I will go look for him. You stay here and wait for me and Santos to come back," Heaven said.

"Awhh… you're so kind, sweety," Victoria said as she caressed Heaven's cheeks. She looked into his eyes with motherly love before planting a kiss on Heaven's cheek. "Be careful out there, okay? Call me for anything, okay? Be quick, I don't want those thugs you mentioned to hurt you or Santos either…"

"Okay mom, I'll see you in a bit."

Heaven put on his sweater and left the house under the watchful gaze of his mother.

Half an hour later, Heaven was still searching as he grew annoyed.

"Haaa… damn it Santos. Where are you?"

Heaven looked around the neighborhood, searching for any clues about his brother. He went to every spot he knew that Santos frequented.

Yet he found nothing.

Sighing, Heaven felt his stomach rumble because of how hungry he felt.

Not seeing any signs of his brother in the neighborhood, Heaven decided to start looking outside of the neighborhood.

His first stop, the nearest convenience store.

It was close and it could offer a good place to begin his second search for his brother. Not to mention that he might find his brother there if he also felt hungry like Heaven did.

Seeing the convenience store in the distance, Heaven smiled a little as he felt his empty stomach.

The evening was growing darker and colder, making Heaven crave something warm but a couple of snacks will have to do.

"Hahaha…"

Just as Heaven was about to enter the convenience store, he heard a laughter coming from the alley next to the store.

It was a laugh he was all too familiar with.

A nervous laughter that Santos would always do whenever he felt guilty or uneasy.

Closing the door to the convenience store, Heaven walked on over to the alley.

"Man, Santos… where have you been all this-"

Just when Heaven was planning to lecture his brother, Heaven stood still in shock after turning to the alley.

Lying down on the ground on all fours was his brother who had a red face. In front of him, was one of Santos' thug friends stepping on his head and humiliating him.

"You're a bitch, you know that, right? Santos?"

Jack, the thug stepping on Santos' head, snorted.

"Yeah, man. The fuck is wrong with you," cussed another thug, Cody. "We almost robbed the place but then you pay the man? What the fuck!"

Next to Cody was another guy, he looked at Santos angrily before kicking him in the stomach.

Pa!

"You think we're stealing because we have no money? You damn fucker," angrily retorted the man who kicked Santos, Franklin. "You think we're poor? That we want your damn pity money? Fuck-you. Go fuck yourself Santos."

"Shi~t, if you really pitied us, you would let us have some fun with your mom," snickered Jack as a disgusting smile spread on his face. "Just think of her damn lips… so damn fuckable!"

Jack narrowed his eyes as he thought about Santos' mom and what he would do to her.

On the ground, Santos was shaking in rage but he just couldn't stand up. He just couldn't and didn't want to.

He was afraid.

Afraid that they would do something worse if he retaliated.

'FUCK!!! Why me?!'

"Hey! Keep my mom out of your damn mind and your foot off my brother!"

"Yo! The hell-"

BANG!

Heaven shook in rage as he looked at the scene in front of him.

His brother was being humiliated and badmouthed for being someone kind.

It was one thing for him, Heaven, to be bullied, but when it came to his family, he would step up no matter what.

It hurt Heaven to see Santos in this situation and he just couldn't keep his calm.

Heaven clenched his hands into fists as he attempted to calm down with all his might, but just when he was going to become completely calm, he snapped.

He heard them talk about his mother.

His mother who did her best to take care of him and his brother. His beautiful mother who is like an angel to him.

Anger clouded Heaven's judgment as he ran forward without thinking.

His adrenaline pumped and he rushed faster than ever before as he shoulder tackled Jack.

"Hey! Keep my mom out of your damn mind and your foot off my brother!"

Just before Heaven hit Jack, he yelled out loudly in frustration.

Jack turned around in surprise and looked at Heaven with surprise.

"Yo! The hell-"

BANG!

Without any other movements, Heaven stood in front of his brother.

Jack, who was shoulder tackled, stood back up with difficulty as he felt an intense pain on the left side of his waist.

"Fuck! Beat this fucker up!"

Jack roared in anger as he signaled for Cody and Franklin to make a move.

Standing still, Heaven began to feel nervous as he looked at the two approaching individuals.

Franklin was tall and somewhat muscular, his natural strength already way above what Heaven could handle. To Franklin's side was Cody, who was of average size and strength but was ruthless when fighting as he often aimed for the groin and a dirty fighter.

Jack, who was standing in the back in pain, was similar to Franklin but shorter.

If it wasn't for Heaven's surprise tackle, Jack could have easily avoided his tackle and struck him back with ease.

"Heaven! What are you doing here?" groaned Santos in anger as he slowly got back on his feet. Surprise clouded his eyes at seeing Heaven back in New York City.

" I… I had it under control."

Santos glared at Heaven, feeling extremely humiliated knowing that someone he knows had seen him on the ground and getting stepped on.

"Shut up! How c-could you let them do that to you? To talk a-about mom like that?"

Heaven looked at Santos in anger, before turning his head back to Franklin and Cody.

"..."

Santos kept quiet but his expression wasn't pretty at all.

"Fuck you! I did MY best!"

Feeling the anger build up in him, Santos felt to let it all out as he kicked forward to Heaven. He kicked Heaven forward toward Franklin and Cody before he turned around and ran away.

"SANTOOS!"
