Criminal You Call Friend (2)

[POV: - MOON] 

It's like I'm living under fog. Everything in front of my eyes was just hazy, just like a bunch of clouds gathered for a rain party. Yet it's a misty vision. I wondered to have a look at the surroundings. I got no aches in my neck or my head so it's a bit easier for me to round around. 

The first person under my vision was her, Tangwen. Gently holding my hand and sleeping on her arm like she never had any relation with this fake world that had only chased the forgery. 

You look so tired yet so beautiful… How easily you fool me? 

Intentionally I halted my other palm on the top of her head, gently caressing as if it never laid it on. Her calm skin was breathing my aura and I was breathing hers. It's so serene like there was never a word named agita. 

The odourless winds of the north were going through her soft and clean hair, letting her get rid of this medicine smell. Winds that carry the evocative fragrance often drive me into my childhood again. I wish I could have met you so earlier to understand you more closely, Tangwen. 

"Uh…, Moon? You woke up?" Her soft voice evokes memories of our high school where I accidentally heard her soft voice and fell in love with it but unfortunately, I couldn't make it with the persons' of the voice. 

"Y-yeah. And what were you doing here?" I doubted her but she turned her sleepy face into a bright sun and flashed like a touch light. "Just taking care of you, Dear Moon." Uh-hm taking care of me. So sweet of you, Tang. 

Such a cute croissant smile of yours. Don't make me blush anymore, Dear Tang. I looked charmingly at her and was to attempt an unusual incident. I was to caress her hair but when I realised that it was Tangwen I immediately pulled back my hand. And kept myself silent. 

Though I caressed her hair when she was asleep, now she's awakened… 

I was looking at my hand and then a soft hand laid on it like a bee on a flower. I looked at her and she responded with a bright smile. With a pull of my hand and then I discovered it on her hair. Stroking it gently. 

"I know you hesitate to get close to me, Moon." 

Her melody-like voice was the way to increase the beats of my heart. I gave a short stretch of my lips and then she flushed hard. So hard! So hard! 

Yah, I hesitate not for getting close but for having a place in your beautiful non-windowed heart. A place where I wanna stay forever and never wanna backstab her.

"Stop daydreaming, girl. These love-like words are really hard to find in my dictionary." 

Of course, it isn't impossible. There are clear traces of falsehood on my face and still, she believes in every single word that I speak. Though it's a fib. Sometimes I want you and sometimes I don't. Sigh… Tangwen, it's like I'm using you for my purpose but please don't take me till there. 

"Uh-hm. I appreciate your stupid joke, Ms Moon." She sounded smooth like a smoothie voice. With such a croissant smile and half-down moon eyes, she often sounds like a drop-dead gorgeous doll. 

"Thanks for your appreciation, Lady Nuisance." I gave a chuckle and I received another laugh from Tang. I love her but I'm scared of myself… Cuz there will be a day when I have to forget her and have to leave her… 

This fear scares me the most, the most I never wanna leave her. 

"If guys don't think of me as a third wheel in your giggles then can I enter in?" I took a jerk but then I felt relieved when I found out it was Pim. Standing at the door and peeking so eagerly at me. 

"Ya, Ya. You can join Pim." I said. 

"Gosh, I was so scared, Pim! Knock the next time you get in." 

You were scared? Heh, Ya, you were scared. I should've taken hold of your scared face, Tang. I was secretly smiling at this phase. 

"What made you smile, Moon?" Tangwen spoke. Raised an eyebrow too. 

"You got right, Tangwen. Tell me, why were you smiling, Moon?!" 

What the…? Why are they doing this to me? Pim was my teammate for a long time and now he has turned into someone I call a nuisance. These two nuisances really got on my nerves. 

"What? Can't I even smile now?" Now I can finally sense laughter on our faces. The faces that shine like the sun and dim like the dead moon. 

How pathetic?... I can't believe that I'm still alive even after receiving a sweet backstab that hole a large under my umbilicus. Pathetic! How did I trust you so blindly…, Taeng?! How did you fool me, girl!? 

"Moon, I have something important to say about," Pim said seriously. 

"What can it be that you tagged important, Pim?" 

He glanced at Tangwen and gave a slight raise of his brows. I looked at Tangwen but there was hesitation in myself saying it may sound rude if I tell her to take leave right after Pim's eyesight. 

"Um…, I guess it's better if I le-" And there was a flash knock on my door. I don't even wanna guess the person cuz it's complicated for a patient like me. 

"Who's on the knock?" Obviously, there wasn't any response but all of us eyes were on the door. And the person standing behind it. I sensed the twisting sound of the handle and the person I found was… 

I guess I know and met him. And I guess we live in the same location! 

"Millou?" The person who lives next to my door. It's not about the hospital door but the apartment door where we live as exemplary neighbours. I wonder how he got here.

"How are you doing now, Moon? I and Tangwen were astonished when we found you sleeping in blood." They were those angels who rescued me from my death! Unbelievable! And they both know each other but how? Millou never mentioned Tangwen's name ever before… 

"What do you mean by 'I and Tangwen'? You both know each other?" 

Wait, Moon. Why are you so curious about them? Don't involve it as a part of jealousy. They looked at each other and smiled at me. What's that shit smile for!? I know Tangwen's gonna speak out now. But… 

"Yeah, Moon. We know each other." But the answer was given by him. There's no truth in it. I can plainly trace the confusion on Tangwen's face. At least as a good neighbour, you don't tell untruth to me, Millou. 

I looked at Tangwen but there wasn't any answer from her. That means… She is accepting it. Fibbing or pretending to be who they aren't!? 

"From how long you know him, Tang?" 

Could you bear to open your mouth, Tangwen? No, you can't be quiet! 

"I'll take my leave. Pim had something important to talk over, right?" Yea. At this moment you never wanna answer my question but flew with someone else with whom you barely met a day. Doesn't it sound nasty!? 

She only took three steps to reach someone I call a good neighbour instead of reaching out my door. Even her steps are lending towards him. Wow! 

"Tangwen." Just I made a word but Millou never wanted me to complete it. 

"I will accompany you, Dear Tang." Dear Tang? Uh-hm, you literally brought out a smirk on my face, Millou. "Thank you, Millou." And they both were out of my room. How lovey-dovey…!? 

You got on my nerves, Tangwen…! 

"Moon? What happened to you?" I let all my anger in one short exhale. And gave a fake smile to the person sitting next to me. "Nothing, Pim. Let's get to the point." There was a sure nod from his side and he began letting out, 

"Taeng is under the officers. Nart and Chai are over there to check on her. But by seeing Nart I can easily say that he might kill Taeng at any time." 

Taeng… I never thought I would be hearing this word again from other mouths. Ya, it's an obvious thing that they aren't aware of the real thing. Just to have her love she backstabbed me and left me with such a huge hole in my tummy! What kind of human is she? 

Even I did whatnot just to reach your destiny. Your one-and-one destiny and that's Nart. I knew that and I even helped you but what did you give me!? This is how you thank your helpers, Taeng? It's hard to digest the truth… 

"I'd rather be zipped up than hear her name." 

He was quiet for a bit and then opened his mouth. "But Moon what happened to Taeng that she attempted this horrible crime?" I was quiet cuz the scene that I faced before was rolling around my head again. 

M-my head… It was spinning like a merry-go-round. I don't know what happened to me again but I left my senses once in a moment. I thought like I'm suffocating, my throat was dry and I felt blood tears flowing down my cheek. It's like the beats of my heart were rapidly decreasing… Urg!! 

"Ugh… My head!! It's spinning round!" 

"Doctor, the patient's heartbeat is rapidly getting down!"
