264 On Duty

Evanna wanted to rush into action and ensure the gem would be theirs. But there was nothing they could do right now. She was enraged that a deal was struck, and Conrad beat them to the palace. 

"Come on," Arawn whispered, gently kissing her head and steering her towards the door. Garrett followed swiftly behind them, acting as their guard until they arrived at Evanna's bed chambers. 

He remained outside as Arawn and Evanna entered, only to be pulled to the side by someone hidden in the shadows. His dagger was out instantly. The moment he saw the petite opponent, he paused his reflex, and the dagger kissed her skin. 

"*Where have you been?*" Garrett asked, his eyes trailing down Fiza's body. She was in her usual attire, but much like how Garrett kept a hidden dagger, Fiza kept a few weapons on her person. The elf kept his blade against her throat, uncaring of the pose they were in.
