Chapter 2

I started my bike and rode home, my thoughts swirling with confusion and anger.

My head throbbed as I entered the house, only to be greeted by the beeping sound of the house phone. I checked the voicemail left by my uncle, who informed me that he would be out of town for the next week. Tossing my duffle bag onto the couch, I made my way upstairs to take a shower. Stepping under the warm water, a mix of relief and stinging sensation washed over my face and back. The thought of Claudia setting me up kept plaguing my mind. If only I had stayed in my hometown with my girlfriend, Nicole, none of this would have happened. Turning off the shower and wrapping myself in a towel, I entered my room, only to find Claudia standing there, completely naked.

"Claudia, what are you doing in my room? Actually, how did you even get into my house?" I scowled, taken aback by her presence.

"Leon, calm down. The door was unlocked, and I came to check on you," she explained.

"Then why the hell are you naked? And what do you mean, check on me? Get out of my house!" I demanded, my frustration mounting.I couldn't believe that two hours had passed since I was in the shower. Looking past Claudia, I noticed the full moon high in the sky. My heart started racing, and as I gazed at her, I realized I had never seen a woman naked before, not even Nicole's body. We had never had the chance to take our relationship to that level. Claudia took a step closer to me, her eyes filled with vibrant lust. With each step, my heart pounded harder, until our chests were touching. The difficulty of my situation became even more apparent. I knew that if I didn't act, I would end up cheating on my girlfriend. But even entertaining the thought was already crossing a line. Feeling her inner thigh against me made it harder to push her away.

"Hey Claudia, you need to leave. I have a girlfriend, and you've caused enough problems," I said, trying to regain control of the situation. I couldn't help but notice her neck glowing in the moonlight. The longer I stared, the more I felt an overwhelming urge to bite. Warm air escaped from my mouth, intensifying the sensation. She needed to leave. Managing to free myself from her tight grip, I took a step back and stared at her.

"Could you not ruin the mood and let me enjoy myself?" Claudia's tone changed, and her eyes flickered with a golden hue. I couldn't care less about how she felt. I had no intention of cheating on my girlfriend. Turning away, I walked towards my dresser, leaving her standing in the same spot. Since she wanted to have sex, I knew it would be challenging to trick her into putting on her clothes. As a warm hand ran down my back, the towel around me dropped to the wooden floor.

"I SAID ENOUGH!" A beastly growl replaced my voice tinged with a growl. She flinched and withdrew herself. A sudden breeze alerted me to the fact that my towel had been whisked away. I quickly put on some clothes, and as I slammed the door shut, Claudia left the house. The next morning I began to get dressed and head to my motorcycle.

As Leon drove his way through the bustling streets towards the prestigious university, his heart raced with a whirlwind of thoughts. The unsettling phone call with Nicole, his childhood friend, replayed in his mind, her voice filled with fear and urgency. She had warned him about a dangerous secret, something that involved their families and threatened their very lives. And then there was his uncle, who had been acting strangely lately, disappearing for days on end without any explanation.

As he finally reached the campus, Leon parked his bike and took a moment to compose himself. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, the cool morning air filling his lungs, as he tried to shake off the unease that had settled in his bones. With a determined look on his face, he pushed open the doors of the lecture hall and stepped inside.

The room was filled with the usual buzz of students, their eyes flickering with curiosity and whispers trailing in their wake. Leon couldn't help but feel like an outsider, as if everyone knew something he didn't. The glances and hushed conversations that followed him as he made his way to his seat only intensified his growing sense of unease. What were they hiding? What secrets were they privy to that he was not?

In the small town of Highland Grove, little did Leon Hart know that his once ordinary life was about to take a drastic turn. From the moment he woke up, a sense of unease settled deep within him, casting a shadow over his every move.

As Leon attempted to focus on his studies, he found himself constantly glancing at his phone, hoping for some kind of update. The whispers and gossip about his recent altercation with Derrick had spread like wildfire, creating an atmosphere of tension and curiosity that seemed to follow him wherever he went. After gaining more insight on the supernatural world, his reality began to fumble into itself.

To make matters even more unsettling, Drew and Cassidy, his closest friends and confidants, were noticeably absent from the university that day. This unusual absence only heightened Leon's unease, leaving him with a nagging feeling that something was amiss.

The hours dragged on, each passing minute intensifying Leon's restlessness. Finally, the last class of the day came to an end, releasing him from the confines of academia. It was at this moment that Nicole, his trusted ally, sent him a text message, promising to meet him later that night.

With a sense of urgency, Leon hastily packed his belongings, his mind consumed by the need to confront his uncle about the strange events unfolding around him. The journey home seemed longer than usual, each passing street sign fueling his growing impatience.

As Leon stepped through the front door of his house, a mix of determination and apprehension filled his heart. Little did he know that his confrontation with his uncle would unveil a world of supernatural forces, gripping drama, heart-pounding action, and a love that would be tested in ways he could never have imagined.

His uncle's face was etched with worry, deep lines of concern etched into his features. Without saying a word, Leon's uncle motioned for him to sit down.

"Leon," his uncle began, his voice strained, "there's something you need to know. Something... unnatural. It's about our family, i wanted to tell you back when you was attack by the Skinwalker two days ago but you had so much on your mind, but i believe we don't have much time to stall for."

Leon's entire being trembled with a mixture of fear and disbelief as his uncle's words hung in the air. The weight of the revelation crashed down upon him, rendering him unable to come to terms with the shocking news that he had yet to agree to; had just been unveiled.

His uncle's voice quivered with a strain that mirrored the stress and urgency of the situation at hand. With a heavy heart, he began to recount the haunting tale of their family's dark legacy. It was a story entwined with the existence of a malevolent supernatural creature, known as the Heart Eater, that had plagued their bloodline for generations.

The mere mention of this cursed entity sent shivers down Leon's spine. He tried to comprehend the enormity of the revelation, struggling to process the implications it held for his own life. The thought of a creature capable of mercilessly devouring both humans and supernatural beings alike once it reached its full maturity sent waves of dread crashing through his entire being.

As his uncle delved deeper into the family history, Leon's mind spun with questions and confusion. Why had he never been told about this before? How had his uncle managed to keep such a grim secret hidden for so long? The calmness with which his uncle relayed the information only added to Leon's bewilderment, intensifying his sense of unease.
