CHAPTER 6

By the time she was done with the police all public transport had stopped functioning so she went to rent a room in a nearby motel. Once she got into her motel room, she drops all her things sits down and starts thinking. She starts to wonder how she got herself in this mess thinking back to when she first met Perry. Perry had been a bright person, the one who made her smile for the first time in years, Wendy's parents got divorced when she was about to start her last year of high school, after the divorce her mum became worried as to why she seemed so unaffected but then her academics were dropping. Before then the least position Wendy had attained in school was the 7th position but suddenly she dropped to tenth and then twenty fifth and just didn't improve anymore, she wasn't happy without her dad, she became even more stressed because of her school work and then her mom, who seemed to be fine picked up drinking. She was being harassed for her low yet dropping scores. In the end she became depressed, she met Perry when her mom had contacted her dad about her grades. That night they had just fought about it, she went out as she felt suffocated being there, she was sitting by the bridge when Perry came.

 They were classmates yet never interacted with each other, at this time to Wendy, Perry seemed like the perfect friend but when she found out her secret her world of idolization came crashing down, she had thought Perry had been a perfect person, Perry begged her not to report it on the account that she never did it again but then she did, she did it over and over, even sometimes bringing innocent Wendy along to become less suspicious. When Wendy found she had began her habit again she reported the case but Perry had planned out very well how to make her become an even worse accomplice than she already was. That was when she found out that all the sudden grocery runs and shopping sprees had been for a reason. It took Wendy some time to prove her innocence mainly because she didn't report it the first time.

 Back to the present, Wendy still remembers how sad she had been afterwards almost losing herself to depression completely again. Getting up from the chair she goes to the motel bathroom to take a shower, once she's done she takes her phone to inform Kate and Chris that she wouldn't be home until the next afternoon and goes to sleep.

 Kate on the other hand sees her text and tells her goodnight, then she hears the door opening signaling that Jake was back. She looks up at him the moment he enters the same room, "how was work?" she asks him "why are you suddenly acting like you care?" he replies her "then what do you want me to do huh?" she says in a low exhausted voice "you told me you feel I don't love you , that I don't care about you, now I'm trying to show you that I love and care about you" she says, he just ignores her "answer me, answer me huh because I want to know what I should do, SO ANSWER ME" she yells when saying the latter part "why are you so touchy today?" he says, drops his phone and leaves for the bathroom.

 She gets all her things and leaves the house "why did I start dating this guy? what was wrong with me?" she mumbles to herself as she walks on the streets. About thirty minutes later while strolling past a café she sees Chris she walks into the store and walks over to where he's sitting and sits beside him "having a hard time?" she asks him he looks at her "hey" he says and smiles "what are you doing here?, it's late won't your boyfriend be looking for you?" he says, she scoffs and says "as if", she folds her arms and squares he eyes on him "what about you?, why are you here so late?" she asks "nothing just needed some air" he replies "hmm in a café?" she asks, he looks at her and then picks up his jacket "let's go" he says as he stands up and walks out, she quickly gets up and follows him.

 "Are you off work tomorrow?" he asks as they walk "I'm free most of the day but I have the night shift tomorrow" she says "then lets meet, just to have fun, take things off our minds" he says, she looks at him to make sure he's serious then answers "sure, what time" "11:00AM, I'll pick you up" he says while looking at her, she nods her head, the rest of the walk is filled with silence except for some small talk. When they get to her home they stop and turn to each other "see you tomorrow" she says, he smile and says "hmm, go in" "I'm going in" she says and goes in the house. She gets to the room and sees Jake asleep she sighs and goes to sleep beside him but he wakes up, looks at her and uses his body to cover the whole bed then turns his face to the other side. She glares at him, takes her pillow and starts to leave "turn off the lights" he says, she sighs, turns them off and goes to sleep in the guest room.
