45 Chapter 45: I am Iron Man

Just watched Multiverse of Madness today. Its like the motivation for Phase 4 MCU is pain. I'm going to go sulk for a while. Enjoy the chapter.

The elf heard the notification that the quest was completed after talking to Yinsen. It's hard to check people's minds without literally reading them. It also makes him realize that the mind is made of some very complicated layers of thoughts. 

Maybe the memory or intention he read is not accurate as thought isn't an action. Some people may think about killing others but their conscience talks them out of it. He needs to differentiate these differences so that he will not make some hasty judgment of a person. 

He checks his reward. The rejuvenation magic. Vampirekid did give him material to cast the magic 3 times. After that, he needs to buy it. 

"The problem is, how do I test it? Should I kidnap some old people?" He curses when checking the price of the material sold by Vampire kid. "That damn profiteer" 

"Red Queen, call Yinsen for me", it was a week after Yinsen talked with him that he offered the guy his youth back. But Yinsen doesn't want it. 

" I just think that there is nothing wrong with my appearance. All of this is the result of my experiences in life, and I won't change anything about it. " This is Yinsen's reply to him.

So far, he has completed 8 quests out of 20 to get to the next tier. There is 1 quest still ongoing from the original seven quests he picked. 

It's gonna take some time before he could attempt that quest. So he decided to pick out several new ones. But most of them are weird.

Queenelf: I have a quest for you to do. 

Hydra: is it a plant again? 

Queenelf: not this time dear. I am curious about plants on other planets though. So you'll be my harvester next time. 

Hydra: So what's it about? 

Queenelf: Wow, cautious are we? 

Queenelf: I want a sample of the dragon keel. 

Mythic: from Iron fist? 

Queenelf: That's the one. 

Mythic: I want some too. It looks like I finally have a quest to give you. (smiles.gif)

Hydra: it's easy enough. I can give you some for the next session. 

It wasn't hard to do the quest. He buys a permeation scroll that allows him to go through the wall, in this case, the ground, also an ant man suit rental service.

The keel is impenetrable, but there is a small opening on the front. The size of a chopstick. The ant man suit can walk right through it. He got back some samples, up to 10 kg. 4kg for Queenelf, 3 for Mythic. And the other 3 for him. 

As Kai is in Hell's kitchen, the quest is completed by him.  Then, the reward from the oldies comes.

QueenElf reward: tier 6 magic scroll (inferno) 

Mythic reward: Warrior gene optimization fluid. 

It was a single-use scroll and an enhancing fluid. The warrior gene optimization fluid brings his body limiter up to 10 tons of strength. If he exercised vigorously, his body would be a lot stronger. Maybe more if he used previous fluid. 

The gene optimization fluid is used by Ryan, as he is focused on technology, he kind of neglected his body. He still needs to train or take some strengthening potion, so it'll take a while for it to bear fruit.

The reward is ordinary as the mission is not hard. Now he has completed 10 quests. He's halfway there.

Ryan is not focusing on getting new quests as he is working on something. In his secret space in the penthouse, A white-gold full-body, medieval-looking armor with metal wings is erected in a glass case. This is his prototype angel armor that he wants to give to Gwen. 

"The problem is, the suit's performance didn't quite reach my target yet." He's already working on the next ones. He asks Albus to record all the data of the previous suit. If compared, the suit has reached Tony's armor in Age of Ultron, but he didn't know it yet. 

He'd also incorporated magitech in the making of the suit. The hardest part is to make the magic circles that can change the property of electricity to magic. 

"It can use tier 1 and 2 healing magic, some destructive spells at tier 2 maximum, and some anti-demon magic sword that's connected to it made with vibranium alloy" It cost him almost 50 million dollars for the cost of making it. 

"I understand now why the rich rely on technology while the poor rely on mutation. It's because technology is always evolving, isn't it." He murmurs to himself while making this. He'd already finished about 60% of the next armor for the love of his life.

Taking a break from working, he takes a look at the previous armor. "It'll be a waste for it to just be on display. " Finally he decided. " I'm going to sell it!"

Near Stark Industries, the people get an alert to evacuate the area from the Disaster Alert app. The battle between Iron man and Iron Monger is now ongoing. 

When Stark investigates the military side, he does find some evidence that Obadiah is the one who set him up. The suspicion was cemented when Obadiah told him at the fundraiser that he is the one who kicked Tony out of the company.

When Obadiah realizes that Pepper had gotten into his computer, he goes to kill Tony and takes away his arc reactor. But Tony survives using the previous reactor that Pepper didn't throw away. 

Tony equipped his Mark 2 Iron armor and flew over to the Stark industry as Pepper was there. Obadiah wants to kill Pepper!! 

Obadiah is doing his villain monologue while he is beating Tony's armor "For 30 years I've been holding you up!" *smack*

"I've built this company from nothing!" *stomp*

Obadiah in his suit said while stomping the iron man. "And nothing's gonna stand in my way, least of all….. You!" 

The Iron Monger is targeting the incapacitated Iron man using shoulder missiles. But Tony escaped into the air. 

"Impressive, you've upgraded your armor. I also had improved on my own" Jet rockets light up from Obadiah's armor, barely leaving the ground from its heavyweight, but become fast when it's in the air. 

The battle quickly comes to its climax after the IronMonger has fallen from the sky and survived due to an icing problem. Tony thought the battle had ended, but sike. 

"Trying to get rid of the world of weapons, instead you give it the best one ever!...and now... I'm gonna kill you with it.! Tony is devastated by the fight. He can barely move. 

" Pepper NOW! " Tony exploded the huge arc reactor with Pepper's help to kill Obadiah. Blinding light lit up all over New York City as the energy shot up like a pillar in the sky. 

Tony barely survives the explosion. When he wakes up, Jarvis updates him about the casualties of the event. There is none. But there is one shocking piece of news for him. At the time of the battle, Knight Manor in Long Island is attacked by a terrorist organization!

Ryan is having dinner with his father at the manor. It's been a while since it's just the two of them. Holding a fork in one hand and a knife in the other, he is enjoying the steak Hiddle made for him. " Dad, any updates from Gideon Malik?"

"No, it's like he's been avoiding us. But his daughter Stephanie keeps wanting your contact number. She said you guys had a wonderful night together. " Tim said in a greasy tone that made Ryan shudder.

"Then give her 'my' number. Let's make it a romantic comedy film for them." There's no problem letting Dana get in contact with her. The stand-in already told him everything that happens at the afterparty. The hydra head daughter has been keeping him away from other girls making his experience of youth life get cut short.

While they were eating, suddenly the light in the dining room turned off. A clashing sound is heard from the entrance of the house. But the father-son pair is calm. They just continued their conversation as if nothing happened. 

"Oh, your new movie is coming out, right? What's it called again?" 

Still cutting his steak and bringing a piece to his mouth, Ryan answered after finishing chewing. "The Guardian of The Galaxy. It's part of the Marvel Universe series "

At the entrance of the house, Raza with 20 of his best, fully equipped men, is having trouble continuing their path. They are blocked by only two men, a butler, and a bodyguard.

Throwing a triangular disk towards the attacker, Hiddle took out a pair of daggers his young master gave to him as a birthday gift. A magnetic explosion occurs from the disk, attracting the guns of the attacker to it. Hiddle is using a fancy footstep to near his distance and kills the attacker. 

'Suddenly I woke up with some knowledge about how to use a dagger and footsteps. God must be blessing me to take care of the Knight family' Hiddle thought while beheading an attacker. Blood splattered across the face of the genial old man, making him look vicious.

On the other side, Bryan Mills is more straightforward. *Ratatatata* He uses a machine gun to create holes in the attacker's body. No bulletproof vest could stop the bullet from the firearm that was given to him. 

Amidst the battle, the leader Raza seems to be possessed, as he manages to slip from the battle and into the house. He is going to the dining room!

Raza walks inside the room with his Ak-47. The moment he saw the father and son duo, he opened fire without hesitation. Tim is riddled with bullets and dies on the spot. Ryan manages to avoid it by jumping out of the way, but Raza uses his AK like a bat and smacks Ryan's head until it is bloody. 

Pinning the young man down, he keeps punching him. Ryan's teeth flew out, his eyes popped out of the socket a little bit. "HAHAHAHA, you should know the CONSEQUENCES!!! Messing with Me!!!"

Raza seems short of breath after releasing his pent-up emotion. "Huff..huff.." He looked at the punching below him. The young man seems to still have some life on him. Ryan's finger is pointing up in line with Raza's sight. But then, the finger turns to the side, pointing towards the dinner table. 

The terrorist leader is greatly shocked!! He sees that Tim and Ryan continue their meal like usual. Ryan wiped his mouth with a napkin and said " Had enough?" In the moonlit background, his purple eyes appear glowing. Raza feels like the eyes can suck his soul in. 

At that time, a gun is placed at the back of his head and a dagger on his neck. Hiddle and Bryan already finished killing all the attackers in the front.

"What should we do with him, young master?" Hiddle asked. "Interrogate him. Find out where he comes from." Ryan gives his order.  

Tim just let his son do his thing. He won't even question why the man just falls to his knees when he enters the dining room. There is nothing wrong with his son in his eyes. 

Walking to the battleground with Bryan and Hiddle. Ryan plans something out. "In this battle, my dad is greatly injured as a bomb exploded inside the house. I managed to survive because I'm not here."

He throws bait to the outside world. When Raza enters the dining room, he already checks the guy's memory. 'But this is a chance to let Hydra do their things' he thought. When the opponent is taking too long to make a move, he becomes a little bit anxious. 

The news gets out to the public. But instead of Hydra, Tony swings by his house to check upon him. Of course, it is after Tony had shocked the world with his announcement.

" This is your alibi, just read it word for word," Coulson said to Tony who is preparing for his media appearance. 

"To be honest the suit is gold/titanium alloy", Tony, who is reading the newspaper article 'Who is Iron Man?' is a little dissatisfied. 

"Oh agent Coulson, I want to thank you for your help," Pepper said to Phil. 

"it's our job, you'll be hearing from us again". Phil wants to get some drinks now, but he still needs to be professional and do his job. Dealing with Stark is not easy. 

With the flash of the camera, Stark is standing giving his statement.

".... Or insinuate I am a superhero" 

Bitchy reporter: "I never said you are a superhero

" Well good cause that will be outlandish… and fantastic.

I'm just not the hero type. 

With the laundry list of character defects, many mistakes I made, largely public "

Rhodes: Just stick to the card man! 

" yeah okay", Tony holds the card to say what's written on it. But Yinsens' last words keep ringing in his ear. 'Don't waste your life... Sir'

"The truth is…" he recalls his life before, and thinks about what he can do to the world after this. "I am Iron Man" 

His statement caused an explosive reaction from the reporter. He is gonna get a visit from a one-eyed pirate that night, but he didn't know it yet. 

Ryan who is watching the conference on his tablet sighs. Now, the hidden chaos of the world will become evident chaos. 

The era of superheroes is finally here, but he didn't feel excited, not even a little bit. 

"The Chitauri, the Inhuman, Asgardian, Cosmic level beings, galactic army, Thanos, and many more." He thought to himself. It put him in a bad mood. 

All the time before this he thought he had already put the matter to the back of his head. 'This is the point that I work tirelessly to become strong, right? So why do I feel so helpless?' He thought in his heart.

The members of the public are excited though. "The stock is shooting up. Hahaha!" Domingo couldn't stop laughing when his stock became a profit. It was worth it for him to hold it and buy more when it was at a low price as per Kai's suggestion. 

Gwen and Skye are excited at the premise of a superhero. They even secretly wish to be one. 

For the islander, they didn't react much. They feel like the Deer God could defeat the iron playboy with a finger. He isn't even worthy to become a superhero like the Deer God. 

A few days later at Stark mansion. "Sir, your audio system has been hacked." 

~I put my armor on, show you that I am strong

(Sia-unstoppable) 

The music is played on a loop. 

"Should I swing by his house, JARVIS? Maybe he'll shit his pants if I come with the suit." Tony is a little irritated. "That kid greatly underestimated my awesomeness. He needed to be taught a lesson." 

"I don't recommend it, sir," JARVIS said. Tony ignored it and flew over to Ryans' balcony. He crosses from LA to NY, just to show the kid his greatness. 

He didn't come through the front door, but it seems like Ryan is expecting him. The kid is drinking some whiskey outside on the balcony. 

" Look who it is, the tin man is here", he said mockingly. He is a little drunk at this time. Tony opened his face covering and sat next to him. "Where's your girlfriend?". The kid seemed a bit weird at the time, so he didn't continue his plans. Tony poured himself a drink. 

"She's at her parent's house," Ryan said while pouring himself another drink. "Why... Did you fight?.. HOLY SHIT THAT'S GOOD." Tony asked and then exclaimed after drinking the kid's whiskey. It is really good. "Send some to me will you", he said pointing at the bottle. 

Ryan did fight with Gwen, but he didn't want to talk to Tony about it. A few days ago, they fought about superheroes. It is just a stupid fight, but it becomes worse the more it led on. It is also because Ryan keeps dismissing the attack on his house as a trivial thing.

They fought until they couldn't face each other right now. They needed time to cool down. Their ideological philosophy is very different. Ryan already knows the truth about the world, but Gwen is still a naive optimistic person. It is their first fight ever. 

"Cheer up kid, you need to enjoy life more. There are many beautiful women I can hook you up with", Tony tries to corrupt the kid. 

"I don't want advice from someone who never had a long-term relationship, even when he is so old," Ryan quipped. 

They talk a bit, then Ryan advises Tony "You know people will move against you right? Maybe a public hearing to make you give up your suit, or just blatantly attack you for it" 

Tony swirls the drink in his hand. He realizes what is about to happen. It's only been a few days, but he notices some instigating articles about him and the Iron Man suit. There's a hidden current in the background, that is trying to smear him, and cause the public opinion to turn against him. If that doesn't work, as the kid says, they will try other moves. 

Ryan enters his house and leaves Tony on the balcony. The old man flew away after finishing his drink. "Wait, didn't I come by to scare the kid, how did it turn into drinking together?" 

Tony didn't realize at this time that Ryan had scribbled the word 'idiot' on his iron suit. He feels a little better once he messes with Tony. He called Gwen after to try to pacify her and fix up their relationship. They agreed to disagree on the topic. 

Nuzzling against Gwendolyn's chest in their house, he makes plans for the future. It seems like Hydra isn't going to make a move for now. 

"Let's see, Captain is being thawed, Thor isn't going to come till Iron Man 2, so I have some free time. Let's decide on the new quest first!"
