237 Chapter 232: Final Chapter (1/2)
The cold, dark fog miasma that spreads from the centre of what was once Washington had finally travelled to a city nearby it. Once inhaled by the resident of the earth, the miasma quickly took effect. Citizens fell onto the streets, losing consciousness one by one until there was no one else who could stay awake during this entire crisis.
In New York, Skye monitored the ice demons retreating back into the hell crevices that opened on the ground while floating using her vibrational wave in the air. However, before she could get excited from winning the war, the miasma hits her right in the face.
"Urk!" She groaned and lost her stability. She plunged right into the ground, and before she could land, Quiksilver appeared in seconds to catch her.
"Oh. Thanks." Skye replied weakly before activating her built-in gas mask in her suit.
"No problem-" But before Pietro could smoothly answer the question, the miasma started to affect him too and weakened him.
"Th-The gas mask…It doesn't work." Skye muttered weakly before both her and Pietro lost consciousness together on the side of the New York street.
…
"Skye." Kai muttered as he sensed the danger around his daughter. Doreen was still safe as she was hidden inside Paradiso where the enchantment there could fight off the miasma.
"It's like fighting with a demon king!" Tony muttered, being the only one fully unaffected by the miasma thanks to Ryan's [Failsafe] armour. He was also helping Hulk to recover his arm and sticking them back together with the regenerative spray provided by the armour.
"Stop moving Hulk or I will paste it the wrong way." He warned the squirmish Hulk. But the green guy was too antsy to get back into the fight right now.
"After the battle. I will squish Kai." Hulk vowed.
Thor was panting heavily as he was the only close range fighter able to fight off the Elder Demon King right now. Adam Warlock and Dr Strange tried to help him, but any energy attack– magic, or Thor's divine lightning, all of them were useless against the Demon King END.
"You guys are really getting on my nerves." END muttered and his purplish eyes started to bleed. He gazed into Adam Warlock and Dr Strange, which made Dr Strange curse, "OH hell!"
The runes protecting his and Adam Warlock's body were stripped by the gaze, and both of the magical members of the team were turned into stone sculptures. The only thing that survived from the attack was the soul stone which was stuck onto Adam's forehead.
The Demon's figure becomes more and more fearsome inside Steve's heart.
"I…" He glanced at the rest of his team. Thor who was bloodied up in the fight, Hulk who was incapacitated, Wanda who was kneeling on one knee, blood running from her eyes as she was using her powers excessively, and him…who could only do the bare minimum and throw his shield to the demon king.
END gripped Thor by his neck as he tried to attack him, making him lose his grip on his hammer.
"Urk- Release me demon-"
"Shut up you stupid god! My agreement with Kai only affects humanity. I have no qualms in killing you in the most brutal way possible."
He pressed his nails gently on Thor's abdominal skin, but Thor let out a bloodcurdling scream as End's nails grew underneath his skins and were spreading throughout his torso, and was inching towards his heart.
"Goodbye…Son of Odin." End said with an innocent smile as he stared into Thor's eyes.
Steve saw the hammer fall onto the ground. Without thinking much, he ran towards it and grabbed the hammer. Suddenly, he could hear the enchantment on the hammer inside his mind.
"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor!"
BOOOOM
A huge thunderbolt attacked End when he had his guards down, separating him from Thor.
"What the-" He turned towards the perpetrator angrily, but then, what greeted him was the full might of Mjolnir slammed right onto his face.
"ARRGGGHHH!!" Steve yelled as his body surged with power. He managed to push End back a few metres, but then the demon king let out a growl. Steve's hand shivered as he found out that he could no longer push the demon's back.
"Even though you're worthy, Steve Rogers, it wouldn't change anything." End muttered before he gripped the hammer with immense strength, making cracks appear all over Mjolnir.
"NOO!" Thor yelled from afar as he was going to lose his most loved companion.
As if responding to Thor's desperate plea, a swirling vortex of energy appeared in the middle of the city. The huge energy fluctuation caused END to look up.
"That's…an omniversal portal! If I can get that…I don't even have to destroy the entire universe to create the path to my original world!" He said in a maniacal tone before he released the hammer and flew at a high speed towards the portal.
Halfway there, End got slapped right in the face, and he flew out of the earth's atmosphere.
"BAM! And the fly is swatted away! Gahahahaha!" The Barbarian King Raikas descended on the Marvel Universe, and he flexed his muscles as he turned towards the battered Avengers team.
"Where's Ryan? Where is the enemy?" He asked Steve who was closest to him.
Steve flinched before he said carefully, "Sir…The enemy…you just...slapped him away."
"Huh?" Raikas scratched his head in confusion, at the same time, the portal behind him disappeared. "You guys…struggled against that guy? How weak are you guys? GAHAHAHAHA!" He laughed until tears came out of his eyes while holding his stomach at the same time.
Tony was embarrassed, but he was focused on something else at this moment. He whispered to the green monster next to him, "Hulk…is that…your dad?"
"Hulk…don't know." The creature replied, perplexed by the whole situation.
"Huh? Why is there a kid's hammer here?" Raikas asked as he picked Mjolnir up from the ground so easily. Thor jaw dropped and his eyes shook as he saw how easily his hammer changed ownership today. "Mjolnir you slut-"
Before Thor could finish cursing, END teleported back to behind Raikas and was slashing his claws at the back of his neck. "YOU SLAPPED ME TILL THE MOON YOU BASTARD!"
Raikas grinned and grabbed END's hand. The shockwave from their clash pushed the Avengers away from the area– All except Kai and Gwen.
"Hmmm…You really thought…When you absorbed the demon's power…you can face me? Don't you know who I am? I am the being…that had killed…" Raikas strengthened his grip on END's wrist, "Not one…but TWO DEMON LORDS IN MY UNIVERSE BEFORE!!! GAHAHAHA!"
He ripped END's hand off from his body, and he punched END's chest with his other hand, caving in his chest cavity.
"After I beat you up, I will finally get my Demon Lord Turkey!" Raikas joked as he gathered his strength in his feet and jumped towards the still flying END at high speed.
"Let's have fun, FAKE RYAN!" He cocked his fist and punched END in the face, knocking a few teeth out of his mouth.
"We…no longer have to do anything don't we?" Steve muttered self-deprecatingly as he saw how easy it was for Raikas to handle the universe ending threat in front of his eyes.
"Gulalalala~" Raikas guffawed out loud as he kneed END in the face, causing it to be bashed in.
"Fuck…Not the whitebeard laugh." END retorted before he opened up a spatial portal in front of Raikas's punch. The barbarian hand went through the portal, and END closed it quickly to cut off the man's arm.
However, the portal was stuck at Raikas's skin before it could sever his limb. END widened his eyes in shock while Raikas grinned, "I told you. Magic doesn't work against me!"
"Um…I got it." END sighed and started using magic to enhance his physical capabilities instead. He went toe to toe with Raikas, causing the man to guffawed out loud from the pleasure of fighting flesh against flesh.
"Oh boy. I cannot beat some sense into you can I? Boy, you should come back soon. Before you do something you'll regret for life." Raikas grinned and suddenly stopped moving. Then, his figure dissipated into the air, particles by particles.
"What is going on? I thought-" Tony was clueless about the whole thing and put his guard up to continue fighting. Raikas turned to the Avengers and waved to dismiss them, "Don't worry. I'm just tagging my friend into the ring."
"Huuuuh?" x 10. All of the others were confused, but Raikas didn't explain and disappeared completely with a grin on his face.
"Hai. I'm here next!" Suddenly, END was blasted by another smaller fist of a green-haired woman with a bracer on her hand and body full of armour.
"Hai. I'm the Queen. Ayrenn Arana Aldmeri (Skyrim). Nice to meet you guys." QueenElf waved at the dazed Avengers before chasing after END to give him a thorough ass-kicking.
"Ummm…I officially announce that I have no idea of what's going on right now." Tony muttered. He turned to Kai, "You know this will happen did you?"
Kai smirked, "I may have…expected it. Finally, I can proceed with my plan. You guys. Whatever you do. Protect Gwen. Or this whole thing will fail."
Hulk scoffed, "Don't think I've forgotten what you did."
"Oh shut the hell up. If I didn't prolong the time, then we would ALL already be 6 feet under." Kai rolled his eyes before he opened up his system interface. "Good, He hasn't broken through yet. Ryan is still there." He mumbled before he went to search for an item called, 'Ascension Pill.'
[Ascension Pill: Allows you to break through multiple realms in your cultivation before ending your life. High risk item. Tread with caution.]
"It's too late for caution now." Kai smiled before he purchased the item at a ridiculously high price. A golden pill appeared on his hand, and he flashed a kind smile as he looked into Natasha's direction before throwing the pill into his mouth.
"I'm sorry Nat. I really hope that you can forgive me after this." Kai muttered before he sat cross legged on the floor. A terrifying swirl of energy congregated around him, and his forehead was basked in sweat as he tried to contain the energy to breakthrough through his cultivations.
In just a few short moments, he went from the Epic Stage, to the Mythical Stage, to the Terror Stage, and now, The Cataclysm stage. But, he's not done yet. He's trying to reach into the last stage that he could cultivate into. The Apocalypse stage.
While the Elven Queen was fighting with END, an offshoot of her body grew out of the soil a few kilometres away from the battlefield, just a few metres away from the unconscious body of a green haired male elf.
"You must be Dawn. It's not nice to fall asleep here when everyone else is fighting." Aryeen smiled as she brushed Dawn's hair away from his face.
Suddenly, a terrifying death energy pressed down on her body as Hela saw what she did from her realm. Her android body was out of energy, therefore she could only watch the battle that was happening with gritted teeth, and had placed Odin into his Odinsleep again as she tried to destroy the cage locking her existence there.
"Don't worry. I'm not taking him away from you. I'm just trying to wake him up. Let's see if he's lucky enough to handle this." A turbulent life energy gathered on Aryen's hand.
"You'll no longer be a half-elf after this. Don't lose your humanity alright? Rise Dawn…For from now till the end of time, you'll be the lone Celestial Elf in this world, to protect all that breathes life in this universe from infernal destruction."
"Fus Ro Dah!" QueenElf shouted before she slashed END's torse with her dragon sword.
"Fuck. Aren't you a magician?" END retreated a few steps back before putting pressure on his wound.
"Why? So you can absorb my mana? I'm not that naive." QueenElf smirked before saying, "Alright. My 3 minutes are up. Tag, you're next." She pointed at END's back, and when END tried to see it, a bloody sword impaled him from behind.
VampireKid, a teenage looking short vampire scowled at the Queen. "Hey, you almost made my ambush useless."
As she dissipated into the air, QueenElf chuckled, "Sorry, sorry. I just didn't think that you'll be this…short."
A vein throbbed at VampireKid's head, and he showed his middle finger at the Queen before she disappeared. Then, the short kid with a prince's like outfit turned to END with his blood red eyes. Blood seeped out from the ground, and it flew into the sky, circling around VampireKid.
END held out his arm to try and absorb the mana in the air, but as soon as it entered it, his finger rotted and turned black.
"What the-" END's calmness broke down and he hurriedly cut down his hand to prevent the mana from contaminating him. He turned to the Vampire and asked with a solemn voice, "I can even absorb magic from the literal GOD of HELL. So why can't I do the same to you?"
"Simple explanation. I don't like you. That's all. And my resentment– together with the resentment of the others implicated by you, was assimilated to my magic. This isn't the first time I fought against a mana absorbing creature." VampireKid shrugged.
The blood in the air condensed into a shape of 1000 swords. END realized that VampireKid was only talking to delay him until his magic took place. Before END could teleport away, the swords traveled at the speed of sound and stabbed him all over his body.
"AHHHHH!" END screamed in pain as his body started to rot and crack.
