HAVING A BAD DAY

Louisa kept pacing around the building; it has been two years since the demise of her dad and things has really been tough for her and her family. Fortunately, she is done with her school but she still had her brother who is still in tertiary institution. Her mum and brother Michael is whom she has. She just came back from another job hunt and it is frustrating.

Urghhh!!!   Can't I just get a decent job with my certificate? What is the essence of having this degree when I cannot just get myself a good paying job? Those people who work in the bank, do they have two heads? God please if you are hearing me just give me a job that I can use to help my mum and brother lest I do something stupid.

She did not know when her mum stepped in and reprimanded her. 

Louisa! She yelled, this will be the first and the last time you will ask God any questions. You have no right to question God because he alone knows what is best for us okay.

Ok mum, her shoulders dropped instantly and tears that she has been fighting to hold since rolled down her beautiful cheeks. Mum, she called admits tears.

Yes my dear, tell me what happened today? Her mum inquired.

Today I had the worst experience, imagine that man saying I should give him myself in order to get the job. In his words, he said, "nothing goes for nothing", after telling me that I am the best candidate for the job, he just shattered my hopes with his demand.

Louisa my dear, thank God you didn't key into his demands, the right job for you will come with ease and without stress my dear, so you don't have to worry yourself about anything. Everything will be fine.

The problem I have right now is you.

What about me? Mrs. Jacobs asked.

Mum, you sure know what I am talking about, you know the doctor Said we should not stress you out so we do not raise your blood pressure and you going out there to struggle so we can eat is something that is not just advisable. I was thinking I would get this job and put an end to our suffering that I forgot things do not always go as planned.

Louisa, as I said earlier, while you are sounding as if this is the end of the world when God is just starting with you. everything will be fine, you don't have to bother yourself about me, what kind of mother will I be presented as if I don't do my own part, it gives me joy when I do something for my children and I do not see it as stress at all.

Mum just admit that you need my help and I am going to feel much better, she chided her mum.

Louisa the only help I need from you is for you not to tour on the wrong path, all the values that I instilled in you and your brother; I want you to both apply it when necessary and become someone people see as their role model. On no occasion should you and your brother throw such values away and most importantly, not forget the family you both are coming from.

Mum I can promise you that I will keep those values you thought me intact and not disappoint you at all, just stay alive and strong for I and my brother and we will definitely do you proud

That is the spirit dear, momma is so proud of you and Michael...her smile broadened.

Talking about Michael, where is he?

I guess he has gone to watch football, he has been blabbing about his club winning.

Mum it seems you are been too lenient with him.

Louisa laughed; she loved when her mum is been so formal with her.

Well how else will he have time to watch football if you bombarded him with some work?

Which work? Are you both planning to kill me already? Michael interrupted.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Look who we have here. Talk of the devil, Louisa snapped at Michael, hope you get paid for watching people who are earning heavily for their selves while you sit and cheer them up like someone who does not have anything doing.
