CHAPTER TWO Splash!!!

I had been swallowed by a huge body of water,it was hard to breathe.

I didn't know how to swim.

My lungs felt heavy.

Suddenly I felt someone pulling me out of the water that consumed me.

Everything turned dark.

*cough cough.

".....vet, Velvet!"

My sight was blurry, but the person calling my name looked like Axel.

"Ax,Axel?"

I felt cold, someone covered me with a blanket.

"Velvet! Are you okay?" My mother asked as she rushed up to me.

"Vee!" Axel called, rushing to hug me with tears in his eyes.

All the attention of the people in the party was on us.

"Thank you for saving my daughter, I don't know what would have happened if you were not there, Vee, she doesn't know how to swim." my mother said breaking down with tear filled eyes.

I turned around to see who my mother was talking to.

He looked a lot like Axel, but he seemed older than I was.

He was also very handsome, Axel would probably grow up to be handsome like him.

"Are you okay?" he asked me with a worried look on his face.

"Y,yes, T-thank you for saving me." I said.

*A few minutes ago....

"Ashton!" someone called out my name.

I turnedred around and felt disappointment wash over me, but I didn't know the reason why.

It was Amber an acquaintance and classmate of mine.

"Hi, Ashton, can we talk for a moment, actually..."

Although she was talking to me,I couldn't hear a word she was saying after a while because my attention was drawn towards the girl in the velvet dress who was sampling and giggling along with my little brother Axel.

It had been a while since I had seen him that happy.

Suddenly Axel and I locked eyes for a brief moment.

He looked at me coldly, then he turned to the girl in the velvet dress telling her something before he looked back at me.

The girl left as he approached me.

"I know I said this before, but happy birthday little bro." I said, but he just stared at me coldly.

"I saw you looking at Velvet!" he shouted.

"And how is that a problem?" I asked.

"Stay away from her!" he said.

"Now you're making me look like a monster Axel, did I offend you in any way? I f I did I apologise." I said.

"Ashton! You ___"

*Splash!!

But before he could complete his sentence, we heard a big splash.

That was when I noticed Amber wasn't standing near me any longer, rather, she was standing near the pool and something red was floating in the pool.

I suddenly realized what had happened.

I took of my coat and dived into the pool almost immediately and pulled the girl out.

She had black out.

I decided to give her CPR.

*Cough cough!

It worked.

"Velvet,Velvet!" I called out her name.

"Ax,Axel?" she replied.

Someone brought a blanket.

I grabbed the blanket and covered her.

All eyes were on us.

A woman had rushed up to the girl, perhaps her mother.

I felt somewhat disappointed that she had said my brother's name.

"Vee!" Axel said as he rushed up to her.

The woman thanked me with tear filled eyes.

Velvet looked at me curiously, almost like she was studying me.

"Are you okay?" I asked worried.

After I replied, Ashton turned his attention to the girl that had pushed me into the pool.

He walked toward her and dragged her away.

Ms Jones and mother apologised to everyone as the party came to an end.

Mother decided that we should go home, I knew I was going to be in huge trouble.
