Birthday Plans

"Amelia wake up, you don't want to be late for school." said my mother knocking my door and entering. I groggily opened my eyes.

"Good Morning mama " I mumbled while she opened the curtains to let sunlight enter the room.

Oh shit I dont want to be late on the 1st day after the summer break. I dashed into the washroom.

After finishing my morning duties, stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a baby pink towel and walked into the walk-in closet wondering what to wear on my 1st day to school. I just picked a yellow top with floral design and paired it with white shorts and sneakers rushing downstairs with my bag to the dining room.

"Goodmorning Dad"

"Goodmorning Amelia." replied my dad having his breakfast.

Mama came to California for her studies from India and fell in love with my Dad whom she met at university. Well, they decided to get married, but her family never agreed as my Dad is from California and they couldn't accept an American as their son in law.

My parents got married, but my mother lost her family who decided to cut all ties with her. She still misses them. Even I would love to go visit them once in the future.

"Dad, I'm gonna ask you for a gift for my birthday, and you can't say no okay?"

"Name it and you will have it dear" I know he will agree to anything after all I'm his princess.

"Umm for this Birthday, I was hoping on, you know to go to the amusement park with Sophie and Ryan" I really really wanted to spend my birthday with my two bestfriends.

"Yeah okay, it's your birthday after all" said Dad.

"No Rob, you can't allow them, they are still kids.. what if they run into some trouble or get lost?" I knew it, here comes the Devil.

"Oh come on mama, I'm not alone Ryan and Sophie are also coming and we are not kids. I'm turning 16 remember."

"Okay then, I will come with you guys. You know how worried I get if you kids are alone"

"No way, I'm not letting you accompany us, there is no need to babysit, and we are not kids."

"Dad, please help me out here, please I don't want the big party or any other gift this year. Please Dad, please please." I requested him showing my puppy dog eyes which I know will work for sure.

"Okay, okay let me think about that." Well, that was yes for sure, I know that he will convince mama.

"Rob you are not giving permission to these kids to go alone. "

"I didn't say yes, but think about it Priya, I think they are growing up, they are not little kids anymore, I think they can handle themselves for one day"

"Amelia you 3 are not going without adult supervision and that's final" said my mom

"Devil" I muttered under my breath and my father laughed hearing it and I saw mum's face turning red with anger.

"Mama, please please, it's my birthday "

"Well, if we can't accompany you, then Jason will accompany you or you are not going, the decision is yours, it's either me or Jason"

Jason the last name I want to hear and the last person I want to spend my birthday with. I'm super pissed now. Why can't my mother understand the fact that I'm grown up and don't need anyone watching over me.

''Mama I want to have a nice outing with my friends, not me getting killed in Jason's hands."

"Goodmorning Everyone" entered a cheerful Jason. What a wonderful way to start my day!! name the devil and the devil is here.

"Why are you always here for breakfast?" I scoffed at him.

"Because the chef in my house doesn't prepare such yummy food."

"Jason here is your breakfast and I want to know if you are free this weekend?" Asked my mom.

I mentally reminded to add more chili powder to the food without mama noticing, may be that would stop him gobbling all the food in my house.

"Oh yes I'm free but why?"

"Its Amelia's birthday and .." she was cut off by Jason before she could complete the sentence.

"You want me to come to this monkey's birthday party? No I would pass. I would rather go to zoo and look at an actual monkey. "

"Hahaha no, she wants to go to an amusement park with Sophie and Ryan for her birthday. I want you to go with them and make sure that they wouldn't get into any trouble." I know he wouldn't agree. He just rejected attending my birthday party.

"Okay sure" he looked at me with a lopsided grin on his face. Oh how much I want to smack his face and wipe the grin off.

Why did he agree to that? So many questions running in my mind.

Jason sat in the car and started honking when I rushed to him and sat in the passenger seat.

Oh I hate the mere existence of him in my life. I have to drive to school with him daily. I can't ride the bus to school with Ryan and Sophie. How he always comes in between my tiny miny wishes. He is a Sadist for sure. And my mama always listens to him, adores him. I dont know what magic he uses on her. Oh yeah he uses black magic on my mama to torture me.

And we started to the Brown's mansion, which was a few blocks away.

"Why did you agree to come with us?" I asked him.

"Did you really think I would lose this opportunity to boss around you for one full day? Imagine getting the chance to boss Princess Amelia that too on her Birthday" he replied. I scoffed at him. Oh now I know why he agreed. There goes my plan to enjoy my birthday with my friends.

Once reaching Brown's residence , Ryan joined us in the car and we started to drive off to school.

Near the lockers I told Sophie and Ryan that may be our plan to amusement park might not happen as the He-Devil is coming himself to babysit us.
