New School

"Good morning, everyone. I am Chloe Ramirez and I am from Manila. Since I am new here, I am hoping to know you guys well." I introduced myself in front of my new classmates with a small smile on my face.

I roamed my eyes around and observed their expressions. Some of them are smiling, others are just looking but the face is blank and the others seem to not care at all and just busy minding their own businesses.

"You may now sit wherever you are comfortable." The teacher pointed the way so I looked at the last row where there was an empty seat next to a woman with braided hair and smiling at me so I went straight there and sat down beside her. "I assume nobody owns this seat." I smiled at her.

She chuckled. "I'm Chelsey. I am glad someone finally sat beside me."

"Why? Has no one sat next to you before?" I curiously asked her. She nodded. "Why? You are beautiful, you also look kind. "I said then arranged my things on the table.

She moved some of her belongings to give me more space.

"I don't understand them, either. I can only talk to Nathan here but only sometimes because he has friends." She didn't seem bothered. Not at all. Maybe she got used to it.

Maybe the people here have less interest in each other more than I thought.

"I hope you don't move anymore. I don't bite." She jokingly said.

I laughed and shook hands with her. "I hope we get along."

At lunchtime Chelsey and I ate together. The cafeteria at this school is quite large. There are round tables and sofas so it is comfortable to eat there. There are also many food options.

After we ate, she took me to some beautiful places in this school. This school has a National Heroes' Park. It is surrounded by a red gate and inside it are large trees. There are also wooden benches and the air is fresh so it is nice to study there.

On the other side of the school there is a large pond and above it is a wooden bridge. I saw some beautiful and colorful koi fishes and water lilies. Around that pond are some tulips and sun flowers. That was my favorite spot because there were also wooden benches and tables placed around it so it's a very convenient place to study.

"I can join you there anytime if you want to study there." I liked what Chelsey said so I immediately nodded in agreement.

"I'd really love to study with you. It's better to study with someone rather than being alone. I'll study with you from now on so you won't have to be alone again." I moved my brows up and down as I talked to her.

The lunch break was over so we immediately went back to the classroom.

"Since your 4th grading examination is near, I have already assigned groups for your group study and only Chloe is not in a group yet. Who is willing to let her in?" The teacher said and Chelsey immediately raised her hand. "She can join our group, ma'am."

"Okay, since all the groups are intact, I can now give you the pointers for the upcoming exam. Take out your notebooks and write down what I have to say." After three hours, the class has ended for that day.

Chelsey and I went out of school together with our other classmate, Nathan, who was also in the same group as us.

"When are we going to start reviewing?" I asked them.

"Every dismissal of the class and what we need to talk about tomorrow with the rest of our group is where we will study." Nathan answered my question.

We stopped walking in front of the waiting shed on the side of the school gate.

"We can go to our house. We will not have a hard time traveling because our driver is picking me up." I offered them. It is good to study there and we will not get hungry either because mommy will definitely prepare food for us.

"That's a great idea. Let's see tomorrow if the rest of our group will agree." Chelsey agreed.

When my driver arrived, I said goodbye to them and went home first.

After the class the next day, we went straight with my groupmates to our house to do our group study there. We chose to study there in the garden since there were tables and benches. The weather is also good today so it is not hot.

"I already imagined earlier that your villa is beautiful but I never thought it would be this beautiful. It looks more like a palace." Amazement was evident in Nathan's voice.

I laughed. "Let's start?"

We were in the middle of studying when mommy and a maid suddenly appeared carrying food. "Just continue on studying, guys. Don't mind me, let me just put these foods for you because you can study better with these brain-boosting desserts." My mom winked at me and left.

They served hot raspberry soufflé and banana and raspberry yogurt ice cream. We ate it right away.

As it was getting dark, we decided to stop studying. They said they wanted to go for a walk to refresh their brain so I took them around the villa. That really helped to relax our minds because we were feeling heavy earlier due to studying a lot.

"Finally, after a few hours of study, I was able to stretch my body." My classmate Tanya said as she stretched her arms.

"It's tiring but it's also fun because I have someone with me." Chelsey smiled. "So this is how it feels like to have friends even just for a day. You guys only talk to me when we have things to do at school. I felt so alone. Why did you come too late, Chloe? The school year is almost over." Chelsey said while pouting.

"Don't worry, we still have two more months to hangout. You never know, maybe next year we will go to the same school." I answered her.

I also enjoyed being with them because they are kind to me. I feel like we have known each other for a long time because of the way they treated me. They are very different compared to my schoolmates in Manila.

After a few minutes of walking, they went home because it was getting late.
