Chapter 6

PENELOPE ELEANOR

Why is this person so close to me? I felt disgust in his every look to me especially when I saw the sadness in his eyes.

His eyes looks familiar. I think I saw it before.

Kendy must have noticed my strange stare at him so he slowly walked away from me. I looked at him, but he could no longer stare into my eyes. Did I do something bad to him?

"I hope you're ready for our wedding day. If you don't need anything, I'll leave now. Good evening to you."

The last time he looked at me, he smiled, but I saw something different in his eyes. He just left my room and I still couldn't get Kendy's face out of my mind. He looks really sad, but I don't exactly know his reasons.

Should I ask him about what I saw? What if he doesn't answer me?

Tss. I can sleep now. He shouldn’t be the stuff of my mind!

I was still wiping my eyes when I heard the sound of my alarm clock. Now that my parents don’t have to shout at me whenever I don’t feel like waking up in the morning, I have to get used to waking up in my own way.

I went straight to the bathroom and did my morning routine. When I finished taking a bath, I took my uniform out of my closet. It was also an hour before I finished organizing myself. After I put the glasses on my eyes, I went out of my room with my backpack.

"Good morning, Madam. Let's go to the dinning room to eat your breakfast."

"Good morning."

I just nodded to Arthur as he pointed the way to the dinning room. I walked up to him first. I stopped walking when I saw Kendy for the first time sitting at the dinning table. He smiled at me and pointed to the chair next to him.

"Good morning. Sit down."

I still couldn't recover from the shock so I just nodded in response to him. When I started eating, I thought of asking him.

"Ah, you don't have a job today?"

I couldn’t bear to look directly at him because I felt like he could see something now in my eyes. I also don’t know why I feel different this morning while eating.

Why is he here now?

"I have, but I want to eat with you every morning from now on."

I was stunned by him when he suddenly gave me a smile. When my brain returned to normal, I avoided looking at him and then resumed my meal.

"I-Is that so? Don't you have much to do right now at your job?"

"A lot, but I'm the owner of the company so it's okay if I come in late. Also, I also want to take you to your school every day. That's if it's okay with you."

I thought about what he said. There is nothing wrong with what he want to do, but why am I nervous every time I think that we will eat together every morning and he will deliver me every day?

I simply turned in his direction. He is no longer looking at me now because he has resumed his meal. I just don’t know why there is so little food on his plate. He has never eaten rice. So that is why he's a little skinny.

When I noticed him looking in my direction, I nodded in response to his question earlier. Tss. I couldn’t understand what was on his mind. We ended up eating and tidying up ourselves again.

1 hour before my class started, we left the mansion. Arthur is seating to the driver seat and driving. Next to him in the passenger seat was Agustus. Kendy and I sat in the backseat. I could barely move in my seat because we were so close to each other. Kendy was just outside watching outside the whole trip and we weren’t talking so my estrangement from him increased even more.

Until now, I still don’t know the reason why he wants to marry me.

I don’t know how many minutes it took before we got to my school. Augustus came down to open the door for me. Before I could get out of the car I was even more surprised at what Kendy had done. He removed my seatbelt. He become close, so I could smell the perfume he used up.

"Good luck learning." He smiled at me again.

I couldn't answer him out of shock so I just nodded again. When I got out of the car, he grabbed my right hand and kissed the back of my palm. He never spoke after doing that.

Arthur and Agustus said goodbye to me with a playful smile on their lips before pulling the car over.

I can’t help, but blush at what Kendy did. I even rolled my eyes around and took a deep breath in relief because no one saw us. I walked into my classroom not understanding how I was feeling.

My friend greeted me with a smile on my lips and then he hugged me.

"Good morning."

"Good morning, Penelope. Waah! We didn't meet this weekend." She sat down in her chair.

I put down my bag and sat down in my chair. "We just hang out next time." I laughed when I saw her frowning face.

Raelynn acting like a kid again. I couldn't help, but sigh. Just as I was sitting down, our professor also entered. He has already started checking attendance. He check men first.

"Scanor Kennedy."

"Scanor Kennedy."

"Present."

The whole class turned to the newcomer, Kennedy. Our professor just turned to him and he resumed the attendance.

Kennedy sat down next to me. He was really lucky because the professor didn't scold him. When Kennedy sat down, he got a little closer to me and I was a little taken aback when I smelled the perfume he was using.

My two eyebrows met. I turned around and caught him looking at me and our eyes met.

His scent...

The color of his eyes...
