33 Now It Was His Turn

Will held onto his sanity by the skin of his teeth not only at that homecoming dance but at every dance for the rest of Hazel's high school career. She didn't seem to think there was anything strange about him going with her despite not liking to dance and he couldn't help but wonder what was going through her head.

Had she seen through him or not? She never acted like she let on.

One good thing came out of going to all of those dances. It seemed that the guys at school all believed she was taken because they always saw her with him at them because they never asked her out. Good! She was!

Nothing official had ever been spoken between the two of them on that front because, frankly, Will was terrified of her reaction. But aside from less physical signs of physical affection, they already basically acted like they were dating according to what he had seen.
