(A) Desire for Strength

"Uggghhh….. my fuckin head….." I slowly opened my eyes as I felt pain all over my body from being thrashed around like a rag doll, though it was noticeable dulled thanks to heavens healing properties.

"Adam!" I turn and saw lute rush over to my side as she had been staying in my hospital room waiting for me to wake up while I saw out of the corner of my eye Sera enter my room.

"Heh, come to gloat at seeing my ass so throughly kicked by my son?" I say looking at her as while she's my boss and I work for her, to say the relationship we have between eachother was even remotely positive would be a joke, it's not bad but it's not good either by any means so her laughing at me wouldn't be surprising in my book.

But she just shook her head, "This problem with your son isn't entirely your fault…. The blame lies on me as well that this whole situation has gone on for so long while hoping that you and your exterminators would get lucky and deal with him yourself…." She said as she walked over to the opposite side of my bed and sat in a chair next to me.

"What are you fucking talking about?" I was completely confused as to what she was talking about.

But she just sighed, "I won't go into the details but when Cain was alive we…. Wronged him, unjustly so and the results of what we did we are now paying in dividends." She said before pulling out a remote and turning on the big plasma screen tv in my hospital room.

"No fuckin way…." I said as I pulled myself up with Lutes help as my eyes widened with what I saw on the tv.

And what I saw was the mangled body of Uriel laying on his own hospital bed with many bandages around his right side of his body and noticably the stump of one of his right wings as if it was bitten off by something with a massive mouths and fangs.

"Uriel saved you and sent you back to heaven but as a result he had to fight Cain on his own and if he wasn't restricting his powers to not endanger the humans on earth he would have been able to stop him but because of that, Cain overpowered him and this is the results of their confrontation, if Micheal and Gabriel hadn't arrived to save Uriel the damage he might have recieved would have been substantially more severe than what he has lost already." She said firmly but with a clear melancholic look on her face.

"He will heal since the damage wasn't due to his blades like the wounds still festering on your body are but this just tells me how serious of a threat he really is, greater than Lucifer and even Greater than Lilith ever was as he's preparing to March to war on heaven the second he gets the chance to do so." She says as she drags her hand over her face before clasping her hands together.

"Father, what are we to do? Are the end times truly upon us?" She asked in prayer towards God but got no response in return as Heaven was left completely in her, the Seraphim and the High Arcangels hands and she for once didn't know what to do.

No seraphim or High Arcangel such as Micheal, Gabriel and Uriel can enter hell without suffering the wrath of the Beast for their intrusion before the end times begin, a time that only god can say has begun.

So the only ones that could kill Cain are the Exterminators or Adam himself but as she had just witnessed herself, none of them are a match for him at all.

Seeing her like this made me irritated as if this was the end of the world or something, well not if I have anything to say about it.

"Adam! You need to rest!" Lute said to me as I began to get myself out of my bed.

"Lute, I got this alright?" I say to her with a serious look on my face as I stand up and look at my completely bandaged arms, torso and legs.

It stung like a bitch but all the wounds had been sewn shut with holy thread which made it so they wouldn't start to bleed again and that they would start to scab over like cuts do for humans.

"And where are you going?" Sera asked me to which I turned around and looked at her seriously as I looked down at my hand before clenching it.

"I need to get stronger, as I am now if I face him again I don't stand a chance against him, he played with me like some kind of rag doll, to the average demon and overlord I can easily take him out but he's a completely different story altogether, I go down into hell where he's completely unrestricted with his strength, then he will crush me like an ant at this rate." Which really pissed me off to say in the first place.

With that said I left with Lute tagging along to keep watch over me while Sera was left alone to her thoughts.

"…. No amount of physical training is going to close the distance between you and him after you procrastinated for well over seven million years…." Sera said with a sigh as she shook her head.

"If that little Morningstar's plan isn't approved by the council and none of the sinners she is trying to save are able to be redeemed…." She didn't want to think about the consequences of further angering Cain as he's a threat that either the combined forces of heaven or god have to come in play together to deal with him.

She shuddered as she remembered his eyes staring right back at her with that evil grin as she could see the hatred he felt not just for heaven but the hatred he held against her personally for what she had done to him in his human life to make him the man he is today.

And if it wasn't for the dreams of his daughter he would do everything he could to break gods seal on his very soul and storm into heaven himself, but unless he's personally allowed into heaven proper that seal will never break as he will never be close enough to break it himself.

After mulling over her thoughts she pulled out her phone to make a call, "You are the only one that I can ask to do this for me, it's our only shot at stopping him and keeping both heaven and the earth safe from his hands." She muttered to herself before the call connected.

"Micheal, I need a favor."
