Chapter 9: A Surprise From Gu Feng's 'Handsome' and 'Youthful' Grandfather!
It's been several hours since the 3 entered the Beast Forest and they eventfully spent 3 hours traveling around the Inner Area.
They spotted several vicious beasts along the way, and Gu Fengcai forced Gu Feng to fight them as he watched on his back, prepared to interfere and save Gu Feng if he's ever been in danger.
However, to Gu Fengcai's surprised. in 4 out of 7 vicious beasts his 'grandson' fought, Gu Feng had managed to hold the fight evenly!
It was to be said that all the vicious beasts Gu Feng's battled were all above of his realms!
'To think he would be able to grow this much.' Indeed, he was one of the few mentors Gu Feng had, and they also had sparred together numerous times, hence he had some conjecture about Gu Feng's strength. However, those were, only, after all, spars. They were not trying their best to kill each other like what Gu Feng's experiencing now.
Hence, the reason why Gu Fengcai was surprised at Gu Feng's full fighting facility.
'Still, this is not enough.' Even if Gu Feng could hold a candle with the vicious beasts above his realm, it would be a completely different matter if he ever fought against human cultivators at higher realms.

"Hmph!" With Dou Qi wrapping his body, Gu Fengcai leaped out and silently landed in front of Gu Feng.
"Courting death!" Gu Fengcai then punched his fist forward!
His punch not only used all of his physical force but, it was also coated with his Dou Qi!

As a loud booming sound echoed, gusts of winds rushed everywhere as a terrifying force hit the head of the Rat Scorpion!
The Rat Scorpion couldn't even let out a painful sound as its head bursts like a watermelon hitting the ground after 20 meters of free fall!
Plussh! Boom!
The vicious beast's brain and sticky juices splattered everywhere as its body fell onto the ground, with no indication of life.
"You saved my ass again, old man..." Gu Feng said while puffing for more breath.
He's pretty much exhausted, both physical and Dou Qi reserve after fighting stronger opponents. Even speaking was too much for the current him.
"It looks like the Patriarch and the Grand Elder didn't fritter their time training you. Your abilities are certainly not bad." Yes, his other 2 mentors were the leader of the Clan and the father of that leader.
Both of the said individuals were labeled as ones of the strongest experts in the region. That being said, Gu Feng, who was personally mentored by them, would naturally not be that weak!

The Beast Mountain was quite dangerous at night since the vicious beasts would go out of their habitats to hunt for their food.

"All right, let's set off back to the Clan." Gu Fengcai stroked his white mustache.
"I second that." Gu Feng's body was covered in sticky sweats, making him craved to take a bath.
As the duo was about to leave the place, they turned around to look at their third companion, who was still standing on the same spot, unmoving.
Looking down on the ground, Gu Fei's face was filled with sadness.
"Lass, what are you standing there for? Want to stay here and become food for the hungry vicious beasts?" Gu Fengcai said, acting ignorant of the reason why she's like that.
Gu Fei clenched her firsts before she unclenched them as she heaved a deep sigh.
"Nothing, Second Elder." Gu Fei shook her head before approaching the pair.
But, as she was about to arrive near the 2, loud rustling sounds echoed behind her.
Growl!
A deep growl that was filled with menace abruptly sounded behind Gu Fei.
Subconsciously turning around, a huge and tall creature entered Gu Fei's vision.
"T-that's Scarlet Lightning Condor!" Gu Feng gawked!
Even without the system's peeking function, anyone in the region could recognize the creature in front of them!
Scarlet Lightning Condor. The vicious beast that was rumored to be at the Da Dou Shi realm, and was also the Beast Mountain's king!
'How could it be here?!' Gu Fengcai's thoughts were in disarray. For today's event, he had sent scouts ahead of them, making sure to notify him of any dangerous beasts in the route he specifically selected. And from the reports he received, only small fry vicious beasts that he could easily take care of were around!
Furthermore, the Scarlet Lightning Condor had stayed in its territory in the Outer Area for almost a decade now! So, how could it be here?
Unless, something big happened in the Outer Area or... it was provoked and was lead to this place!

blood-colored electricity circulated on the vicious beast's white furs, striking fear upon the trio, but mainly, Gu Fei who was just a few meters away from it.
Her mind already turned blanked from the sudden appearance of the Scarlet Lighting Condor!
"Cough!" Gu Fei coughed out a mouthful of blood just from feeling the bloodthirsty aura of the Scarlet Lightning Condor, it was too much for her!
"I-I will kill all of yo-" It was common knowledge that as a vicious beast alleviate their cultivation, not only their fighting prowess would increase but also they would be able to develop a conscience and intellectual that could even surpass of average human's. Hence, they could also talk in a human language if they were to learn it.
Before the Scarlet Lighting Condor could finish its sentence, Gu Fengcai already jumped towards it with Dou Qi madly swirling around his body.
"Gu Feng, leave quick!" Just by comprehending the first words of the Lighting Condor, Gu Fengcai knew its intentions were bad, truly bad!
Scarlet Lightning Condor not only had powerful prowess but also fast, very fast!
Gu Fengcai knew that they would not be ale to outran the vicious beast, hence the reason why he decided to fight it.
'I need to hold on! At least, until Gu Feng successfully left the Beast Mountain!' Gu Fengcai gritted his teeth as he then took out. a magical enhanced sword from his storage ring.
"Come and fight me!" Gu Fengcai then slashed down his sword!

Seeing someone interrupted it, the Scarlet Lighting Condor let out a roar filled with rage as it wiped its claws and met with Gu Fengcai's sword!

The collision produced an invisible force that made everything around it flew away, including Gu Fei!
Cough! Cough!
Just because she was close to the collision, Gu Fei suffered internal injuries!
Fight between Da Dou Shi was too much for current her!
After coughing 2 mouthfuls of blood, Gu Fei's eyes dimmed, as she fell unconscious on the grassy ground.
By this time, Gu Feng was already dozens of meters away from the place and was running as fast as he could.
He didn't even wait for Gu Fengcai's words and just turned around and left for his dear life!
'I don't want to die so early!' Gu Feng was thoroughly clear with his one and only goal.
Live a full-filling and long life!
He just arrived here in this world for a day. Naturally, he would not let himself be killed so soon!
'Don't worry, old man. I will not let your sacrifice be in vain!' In his heart, Gu Fengcai and Gu Fei were already dead. Only a miracle could change their pitiful outcome and be saved!
Even though what he did was a choice that would be labeled as immoral since he just left his 2 companions, Gu Fei knew than anyone that he would not be able to alleviate the situation and would be, in fact, be a burden to Gu Fengcai!

Of course, he chose the latter since his survival would be highest on that option!
"Brat, look out!" A booming voice sounded behind Gu Feng.
"What th-agh!" Gu Feng was about to turn his head when something hit his back, making him fall and roll on the ground.
"Take care of her!" Gu Fengcai yelled as he stabbed his sword towards the Scarlet Lighting Condor's asshole.
Roar!
Gu Feng could hear the vicious beast's painful yet angry and vengeful voice sounding behind him.
However, he had no time to see what happened to it since his mind was solely focused on his survival.
'Fuck, he threw Gu Fei onto me!' The 'something' that hit him behind was surprisingly the unconscious Gu Fei who was coughing blood non-stop!
'Now my clothes are now soaked in her blood!' Gu Feng hurriedly stood before picking Gu Fei on the ground and hurling her on his back!
'Make sure to give me some Lackey Points later.' Gu Feng then glanced at Gu Fei's pale countenance before resuming his escape.
Gu Fei's weigh didn't much bother Gu Feng and he still could run at his full-speed.
There were many reasons as to why Gu Feng picked up Gu Fei. Almost all of them were regarding his safety.
If they were to get out of the Beast Mountain and safely return to the Clan, surely, Gu Feng would be able to fetch a considerable amount of Lackey Points from her.
Moreover, if they encountered a vicious beast that was much higher caliber on the way...Gu Fei would be able to stall a time for Gu Feng to make his escape!
'Anyway, she is a person favored the heavens. Surely, she will not that inside the digestive system of a vicious beast, right?' However, if she ever did, then Gu Feng would be an enemy of the heavens since he's thrown her inside of a vicious beast's stomach.
But, Gu Feng didn't care.
'Fuck it! I don't care whether I'm locked on some radar of shit or not, I just want to live a little bit longer if I can!' With that thought in mind, a youth in his teens carrying a lady behind his back made their way towards the exit and entrance of the Beast Forest.

Gu Feng had already run for about 30 minutes, and strangely enough, he didn't encounter any vicious beasts at all!
Instead of feeling assured, Gu Feng was instead feeling unease!
'The situation is all strange. How could no vicious beasts in here? Don't tell me...' Gu Feng then looked at his surroundings while running.
Usually, if no vicious beasts were on sight, it would be either because the travelers were lucky or... a stronger vicious beast was in the area!
Gu Feng deeply wished it was the former.
'I see it!' Gu Feng's eyes suddenly lit in happiness.
Just a few hundred meters away from then was the entrance of the Outer Area and the Exit of the Inner Area!
As long as he got into the Outer Area, his safety would be pretty much guaranteed!
'30 more seco-' A sneaky and stealthy figure suddenly crept out of nearby bushes and lunged towards him, interrupting his thoughts.
Gu Feng's body instinctively moved sideward and successfully dodged the sneaky figure!
The figure softly landed on the ground on all fours!
'A white shade wolf!' Gu Feng's eyes twitched seeing another furry vicious beast in front of him.
To him, creatures with furs covering all parts of their bodies were no good! He was just traumatized by the Scarlet Lighting Condor!

The white shade wolf cautiously growled at Gu Feng. Its instincts were telling it that the human in front of it was a danger.
Indeed, he would be a danger to him, but was he alone?
Awoo!
Raising its head, the shade white wolf howled to the tops of its lung.
Awoo! Awoo! Awoo!
Consecutive howls suddenly sounded in the nearby surroundings. Hearing the howls of his pack, the scout white shade wolf lowered its head, wanting to see the despair on that human's face.
However, upon looking at the place where the human previously stood, its sharp eyes found no one!
The human disappeared!
It looked around and finally found the human!
The human was running towards the Outer Area!
The scout white shade wolf snarled angrily, it felt mocked by the human!
Meanwhile, Gu Feng was already nearing the Outer Area with a smirk on his face.
'Shit on your furry ass, I just won't stand there and let you call for reinforcements!' Even though he only bested a low-intellectual vicious beast, it still felt good, nevertheless.
'Hoora-' Gu Fei was about to internally celebrate when several white figures suddenly appeared from all his sides, aggressively lunging towards him!
'Damn these furries!' Gu Feng was truly annoyed at the sudden appearances of the white shade wolves, but he still kept on running forward.
'Anyway, the Outer Area is only about several meters aw-' His thoughts were once again halted as his foot that was about to step on the ground was caught by something.
Thud! Thud!
Gu Feng's body fell onto the ground, and because he was running really fast, the force made him roll several times--along with Gu Fei who's still on his back.
'What was that!?' He looked at his foot and saw a thin rope tangled around his foot.
'A rope?!' Before Gu Feng could speculate as to why a rope suddenly tripped him, several growls sounded just beside him.
Turning his head, Gu Feng saw multiple white shade wolves, staring at him and Gu Fei as if they were delicious tender pieces of meat!
'I just need to break through the formation and run towards the Out-the heck?!' Gu Feng slowly stood up while eyeing the vicious beasts around him with a plan forming in his head.
However, his plan was soon to be fated to be a failure as he saw about 10bl white shade wolves blocking the exit!
'They are smart, I give them that.' Still, Gu Feng was still not that scared compared to the earlier incident involving the sudden appearance of Scarlet Lightning Condor!
'After all, my trump card will surely be a destructive force against these small fries!'
Although the weakest on the pack had the same cultivation as him, Gu Feng's fear resistance had undoubtedly leveled up because of the Scarlet Lighting Condor!
Indeed, in the face of that Da Dou Shi realm creature, these white shade wolves were like ants!

The unpinned hand grenade flew into the air and landed on the grassy ground then rolled a few seconds before stopping.
"Goodbye suckers!" Gu Feng gave them 2 middle fingers with an expectant smile on his face.
The vicious beasts looked curiously at the 'thing' the human threw at them. Some of them even went forward to smell it.
'Let me see your blood splattering everywhere! 3...2...1' Seeing their behaviors, Gu Feng was overjoyed.
Pot!
'Huh?' Gu Feng's eyes repeatedly twitched at the unexpected outcome.
The grenade didn't explode, it only produced a small spark before smokes came out of it!
'The heck?!'
