Chapter 7: Gu Fei's Second Appearance and Gu Feng's Predicament!

There were plenty of reasons why Gu Feng spent most of his Lackey Points materializing a hand grenade. However, it's mainly due to his protection.

At the moment, Gu Feng's Dou Qi Rank was at the lowest of the realms, signifying that he was at the lowest of the food chain!

Unquestionably, with his cultivation, he could easily beat civilians with no cultivation, but what if his enemies were of the higher realms?

Not only would he die, but he would die painfully! And he didn't want either of them to happen!

'Plus, because I'm in the middle age where technology is not that advanced, weapons like grenades will be a surprise!'

Gu Feng imagined throwing the hand grenade into the face of his enemies and catching them off guard when it exploded. Surely that would be a spectacle to watch!

Gu Feng's imaginations were suddenly broken by a cold and detached mechanical voice.

Taking a deep breath, Gu Feng slowly closed his eyes as his mind started to drift into the paradise of sleeping.

That being said, snores slowly came out of Gu Feng's mouth as he comfortably slept on his bed.

"Brat! Still now awake?!" A thunderous voice boomed outside of Gu Feng's room, rendering him surprised.

His eyes shot-opened as his body subconsciously sat upright on the bed.

After a moment, his eyes filled with confusion slowly regained their clarity.

Realizing it was the voice of his 'grandfather', Gu Feng scowled loudly.

"The hell?! Old man, I'm cultivating! Now, because of your voice, the smoothly flowing Dou Qi in my body abruptly erupted, almost causing me to suffer a Qi Deviation!" By the time he was finished speaking, he was speaking to the top of his lungs.

"Do you want to kill me?!" His vengeful face contradicted Gu Feng's thoughts.

'Heh, now you won't have reason to force me to practice today.' With a flash of cleverness in his eyes, Gu Feng yelled in a hateful-filled voice.

"Now, I have to spend at least 1 day to stable my Dou Q-"

"Ohh, you're cultivating, huh?"

Gu Feng was interrupted by a voice that came above his head.

Raising his head, Gu Feng saw Gu Fengcai's head sticking out of a hole in his ceiling.

"Old man! What are you doing there?! Most importantly, why did you put a hole in the ceiling?!"

"Well, to tell you the truth, to make sure nothing mishaps happen when I call every morning, I punched a hole in here just to make sure you don't get interrupted when cultivating.

"Well, as a punishment for blatantly lying, I hereby that you accompany me to the Beast Mountain." Saying so, a smirk slowly formed on Gu Fengcai's face.

"Beast Mountain? You want me to venture out there?" With disbelief on his face, Gu Feng gasped.

"Yup, that Beast Mountain. Also, don't worry you will be with me so your safety is guaranteed!" Gu Fengcai said confidently.

"What are you waiting for? Go change your clothes and let's embark!"

The Beast Mountain was relatively famous not only because of the numerous vicious beasts and precious herbs in there but also for its sheer size and vastness.

Standing in front of the Beast Mountain, Gu Feng scratched his head while looking at another individual who went along with them.

Standing beside him, Gu Fei wearing purple-colored gracious clothes showed a complicated expression.

Just yesterday night, her grandfather told her that the Gu Clan had received 3 immediate slots from the Fire Set Academy and she was one of chosen with a proud smile splattered on his wrinkled face.

She was truly stunned upon hearing that news.

Never did she think that she would be able to enter a prestigious academy in her life! At first, she thought that she would be like everybody else in the Clan; cultivating, getting married, and lived her entire life serving the Clan till she died.

However, fortune often came with misfortune!

In a span of a month, she and the others would leave for the Fire Set Academy.

Thus, rendering her unable to procure the precious herb her sick mother needed for her illness.

The pill that her mother needed was only lacking one ingredient!

And that herb was rumored to thrive within the depths of the Beast Mountain.

However, her strength was not enough for her to embark on the Beast Mountain to find the herb!

Naturally, these past few years after her mother fell in sickness, her grandfather had posted a mission with plenty of captivating rewards to find the herb in the Clan Quests Hall. But, no one had the guts to venture deep inside the Beast Mountain!

Coincidentally enough, that night, she heard from one of her loyal subordinates who were tasked to gather information, that the second elder, Gu Fengcai, would train the clan's young master, Gu Feng, deep within the Beast Mountain!

As one of the most talented and beautiful individuals in the Gu Clan, Gu Fei would be praised by many peoples every day as soon as they caught up a glimpse of her. Therefore, a seed of arrogance and superiority sprouted in her heart, whether she liked it or not.

Gu Fei was conflicted on which to choose.

Thicken her face and bow her head to ask for permission if she could follow them, or just let her arrogance and pride let her mother suffer?

The question was already answered as Gu Fei quickly set off to meet the second elder, Gu Fengcai.

Luckily, Gu Fei didn't have to wait for a few hours to see Gu Fengcai since she coincidentally found him gardening outside his house!

{Second Elder, may I ask if the rumor of Second Elder bringing young master, Gu Feng, deep within the Beast Mountain tomorrow is true?} Gu Fei immediately asked after respectfully greeting Gu Fengcai.

{That's right.} Gu Fengcai stroked his mustache as he nodded his head.

{Then, please forgive for this youngster's impudence, but can this youngster follow the Elder and the young master?} Gu Fei bowed her head even lower.

{That will be troublesome.} Gu Fengcai slowly said. However, unknown to Gu Fei, Gu Fengcai's eyes glinted a calculative light.

{Please, Second Elder. This youngster is begging you.} Gu Fei very much understood that bringing her to them would only cause nothing but more trouble.

The Beast Mountain was filled with all kinds of powerful vicious beasts, and even with Gu Fengcai's strength, it would not be that easy to protect Gu Feng in the Beast Mountain.

Hence, bringing her was akin to carrying another baggage and that would undoubtedly be a burden to Gu Fengcai.

She knew that her chances of succeeding in getting Gu Fengcai's approval were very slim and was prepared for it.

Consequently, she was visibly surprised at Gu Fengcai's answer.

{Very well, I'll let you hop in our trip but in one condition.}

{This youngster thanks the Second Elder!} Gu Fei first expressed her gratitude before shakily asking.

The scene yesterday then replayed in her mind.

Yesterday, Gu Fengcai had given a 'suggestion' about her, being Gu Feng's Dao Companion, and that shook her since almost everyone within the Gu Clan knew of her engagement with someone. Moreover, how could the second elder not know of it?

And, the rest was history.

"So, why did you come along?" Gu Feng confusedly looked at Gu Fei.

"I have my own reasons." Gu Fei stared right into Gu Feng's eyes before letting out a beautiful smile.

"Hmm kay." Gu Feng nodded his head.

Although her attitude was a bit different today, Gu Feng paid it no mind since his head was filled with all kinds of thoughts.

Gu Feng remembered what the system told him the day before today.

Most people would normally feel delighted when they got complimented for their looks. However, if they were to be complimented multiple times by the same person, the little delight they were feeling would then slowly withered until nothing left but a numbing sensation.

Gu Feng was about to pull off another praise when Gu Fengcai suddenly interrupted him.

"Brat, watch your mouth! Also, we don't have time to chit-chat with each other! Let's dive in the Beast Mountain!" Feeling heat coming from his face, Gu Fengcai quickly strode forward, leaving the 2.

'Watch my mouth?' Gu Feng misunderstood his 'grandfather's' words.

'That's right. I'm not earning any more Lackey Points after my 12th praise.' Gu Feng inwardly agreed with his 'grandfather'.

It seemed that he needed to wait for another time to praise Gu Fei.

"Let's follow." Without turning his head, Gu Feng walked into the Beast Forest, following Gu Fengcai, leaving Gu Fei whose face was covered in darkness.

'Giving life? He wants to impregnate me?' She was visibly dumbfounded but more angered at Gu Feng's bold words

And, only after a moment did her raging rage calm down.

However, there was still hate lingering in her eyes. Heaving a deep breath, Gu Fei followed after the duo.

She was truly feeling humiliated. Regardless, this humiliation was not enough for her to cloud her thinking and return to the Gu Clan empty-handed.

Now that she's here, she might as well endure and go on in!
