Chapter 6 At the booth

"Plus how would you buy what you want if you hide?" A deep male voice said from behind me and it gave me the chills.

It sounded like I'd heard this voice before and I would not like to hear it ever again.

The woman inside the booth fell silent now and her smile was gone, her smiley face was replaced with a fearful one.

"Who are you?" I hear Elena say from behind me.

I slowly turned back, dreading who I'll see.

Unfortunately, my eyes met with emerald green eyes staring straight at me.

The person a few feet away is hairy from head to toe. The majority of his face is hidden with hair and his bangs almost hid his green eyes.

"Are you Axel the werewolf everyone knows?" Elena asked again. Shit, we did not teach this girl not to talk to strangers.

I quickly covered her mouth with my hand before she reveals our family hatred for him and he eventually figure out who I am.

"Goo..goo.. good evening s..it." The woman inside the booth stuttered.

He dropped his eyes down to Elena and saw what I had done. He gave me a questioning look before reaching forward to remove my hand from her mouth.

I did not protest cause I know now that Elena has gotten the message and won't talk any further.

But even after removing my hand he still held on to it.

I yanked it from him and he gave me an amused look.

He softly brushed Elena's braided hair with his hairy hand.

"What would you like to buy kiddo? I'll buy it for you." He said.

That immediately alarmed me and I pulled Elana behind me and stood in front of her.

What on earth was he doing here? Was he stalking me? He said I should meet up with him tomorrow, couldn't he wait?

"What are you doing here sir?" I asked as politely as I could but it still came out as rude and pretentious.

"We are all free here and have the freedom to go wherever he wants, this street is for everyone." He paused and gave a quick glance at the woman behind me, "do I need everyone's permission to come here?" He finished.

I rolled my eyes, "If that's all sir, we'll be taking our leave." I said then grabbed Elena's hand, ready to leave but another hand grabbed mine.

"Where are you going, mate?" His voice was hoarse but gentle and pleading.

"Sir there must be a misunderstanding, I am not your mate." I told him then turned my face away, "now I need to leave, I'll see you at work tomorrow." I said then tried to yank my hand back but his grip was firm this time and after my attempt, he made it tighter.

"Let me go," I demanded then turned to glare at him.

"You have a hot temper." He laughed. "But I don't know why you are angry with me." He said.

I frowned and gave him a death glare.

"OH, was it because of the accident back at the office? That was just impulsed, forget about it." He blurted out.

But my gaze never soften.

"Was it because I refused to tell you what I'm doing here? Well, I came here for some personal business. I wanted to pay someone a visit but the person was nowhere to be found and I just happened to smell you around the area so I came to you." He continued.

"Whatever sir, please let go of me so I can return home," I begged after getting tired and bored of his explanation.

Just then Elena's stomach grumbled loudly and soon after, mine did.

Shit, what an embarrassment.

"But you have not bought anything yet." He winked teasingly at me and if only he knows how stupid and terrible he looks.

"We'll manage." I sighed.

"No way," he nodded his head and it was like a signal for the woman.

She came out with a bag full of snacks then stretch out her hand to hand it over to me.

I turned back to Axel, "sir, I do not need your charity, I have money and can buy things myself."

That seemed to offend him.

"For someone who pretends to be afraid of me, you don't act like it. Would you rather have me fix that?" He suddenly advance closer to me and stopped when we were very close to each other.

He was really tall and huge and muscular.

My head was almost at his waist, I looked so small and insignificant next to him. He had broad shoulders and a well-built body. He seemed strong enough to kill me with just a punch.

"The girl is starving, think about her and accept my offer. The money you have won't be enough to buy you much."

I looked down at the money in my hand. It was hidden securely in my hand.

I looked at him questioningly.

"Each value of money have their smell, I could smell that the money on you won't be able to feed Elena not adding both of you." He explained.

Not adding everyone else.

I sigh.

But I have already gotten enough from him, a job with him is more than enough.

I shook my head and it was like I had just poured hot water on him.

He glared at me with so much anger and was ready to pounce on me any minute.

"No?" He repeated, I just stared blankly at him. He already had a forest of hair all over his body yet more grew out. From his face, hands, and chest.

He is wearing a white long sleeve with a black pant, although his clothes look big, as his hair grew his clothes became tighter.

"How dare you?"

He snaked a hand around my waist and pulled me to him.

His eyes had gone from emerald green to completely dark green.

He was, even more, intimidating now and I froze, a little frightened by him.

"Stop it!" Elena cried a hit, Axel, with her little hands. "She's scared of you which means you have to go, please don't make her cry." She paused, it was like a light bulb switched on in her head. "You're the one who upset my mama Rhoda this morning aren't you." She accused.

"Elena shu..." I began but was cut short by Axel's raging rants.

"Why is she calling you mama? Is she your kid? Are you married? Who is he? Where is he? Let me kill that bastard!"
