Chapter 1 Internship with the enemy

''Are you not ready yet?" I asked as I marched back and forth in one position while waiting for my sister, Elenore to come out of the bathroom so I could go in and get ready for my interview but she is taking forever. She always does.

I should have woken up earlier and been the first one inside the bathroom but my stupid alarm clock got broken and I can't wake up by myself.

I've been waiting for almost twenty-five (25) minutes already and she's still telling "I'm coming?" This girl will kill me.

I walked closer to the door and banged it.

"I'll be late idiot so be fast," I yelled.

"Hey don't call me that or I might as well spend my entire life here," Elenore yelled back.

"If you want to do that then fine but let me shower first then trust me you can even raise Elena and the rest babies you want to have there," I begged.

"I'm coming." She said again and I groaned.

"You've been saying that."

"Well, I'm really coming this time." Just then the door opened and Elenore walked out with a towel wrapped around her chest to her mid-thigh. "See I told you so."

I just pushed past her and rushed inside.

I always try to avoid this by waking up very early but unfortunately not today and today is really important.

It's a shame we only have just a bathroom which everyone shares. We are very poor and could only afford to rent a two rooms apartment with just one bathroom and a kitchen.

I live with my parents and my younger sister, Elenore who already has a daughter, Elena.

I have a big interview this morning by eight (8) and I can't miss it even though it's run by our family's greatest enemy, the man that placed us in this misery.

I hate him a lot but he's the only one who owns a company everywhere and has dominated the world.

I need an internship which also pays so I can help my family as the money is really needed so I had to swallow my pride and work under him but it won't be as bad as he has lots of company around the world so he might not even be around there.

I hurried bathroom by quickly scrubbing my body then pour water over my body and that was it. I was out in a flash.

I walked back to the room I shared with my sister and her daughter.

It's a really crapped place which we all manage. Our clothes were in a suitcase on the floor as there wasn't any wardrobe when we moved in and we couldn't get one so we made do with the floor.

The walls are colored dark blue but it's really old now so it's kinda like sky blue.

And of course, our beautiful comfy bed is also on the floor but it's all okay we're used to everything by now and we hustle.

One day things will be better and I'm trying to make it better.

I'm about a graduate from college in business but I to intern. When I graduate with my degree I'll make us rich again and probably help my father get revenge.

I dragged out my luggage and scanned the continent for what I'll wear today.

I had a lot of clothes fortunately so I had lots of choices but the decision wasn't that hard.

I wanted to be a businesswoman so I went for a dark blue business suit and matching pants.

After which I placed my hair in a high ponytail then put on the clothing before running to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everyone.

"I shouldn't be doing this today," I complained as I served everyone's breakfast.

We had all gathered inside our parent's room to eat and I served the food on the floor.

"I have to be early today in fact I shouldn't be cooking for everyone again as I need to be early." I continued.

"Just wake up early so you can do your chores, I can't do it for you," Elenore suggested.

"Let's just trade chores."

After my statement both my parents including Elena chorused a "No!"

"Hey!" Elenore shouted. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Mom, no offense but your food is terrible." Elena cutely said with her four years old voice.

"Besides you love cooking Rhoda." My mom, Manda Hicks said to me. "Why trade that?"

"Mom I've already traded that a long time ago now I'm just not going to be doing anymore," I answered.

She seemed to understand what I had said but she still shook her head. "Nevertheless, you'll still be doing it."

"Wait how has she quit? She has been preparing food for us, even dinner last night." My father, Roland Hicks asked. He hadn't understood and a confused look was all over his face.

"Don't worry about it pa." I shrugged then sat down to join everyone who was in a circle around the food. "Let's just eat."

"Fine but be careful with your job okay. You know who runs the place. If only I had the money or there were other people who could help you wouldn't have to face that man ever. I'm sorry your father is useless."

"No pa, you are not useless but quite useful sometimes."

"Sometimes?"

"All the time and besides I might probably not see him as he's always busy and does not have time for employees."

"Just be careful Rhoda." He placed a hand on my shoulder then patted it softly. "Don't trust werewolves."

"Dad only one werewolf still exists and the way things are going there will be none and by then we might get everything we owned back."

My father believes that Axel Thomas Black, the werewolf that has dominated the world and has it under control with his extreme strength and manipulation isn't the only surviving werewolf since the war but no other werewolf has been found.

"Dad, don't worry if there are any more abominable creatures like him, we'll kill them all."
