105 Picking Witches

Chapter 105: Picking Witches

The dark clouds loomed above the witch village ominously, like a dark shadow. .

Their only option was to leave. The only hope was to get the hell out of this town, but Bridget was the type of captain who stuck to the rule of never leaving her ship. Even if it required her to sink along with it. Something that she was definitely prepared to do at this point. Upon her arrival on the other side of town, she made the horrifying discovery that most, if not all, of her devoted witch students had been dealt with by Lord Monsoon. She didn't see him. He wasn't anywhere to be found, but her witches were lying around everywhere. All of them looked as if they were unconscious to Bridget.

They were all laying down on the ground. Barely moving and barely breathing. All of them were in such a pitiful state that they looked like they had been submitted in this position by someone categorically stronger than them. The Witch Queen could only imagine that her coven had suddenly been attacked by many, many men. A group of colossal and powerful monsters at the very least. Bridget was taken aback by this horrible discovery. She stopped. Observed the cataclysm all around her. Slowly began walking again in the middle of a large circle of her unconscious witches. All of them had been moved. They all formed a big circle in the middle of the street. They were all around the well at the center of the square in town.

All the witch students who were not unconscious were panting because they were hurt so badly.

They had clearly been beaten by Lord Monsoon.

Bridget was out of words. She walked closer to one of her unconscious witches. Tried her best to check on her as she noticed that all the clothes she had been wearing had been ripped apart from her body. Forced off of her body. Something that probably happened during the battle with Monsoon. Their witchy clothes were battle-damaged, which was something that could happen often during battles. Quite a bit of their skin showed.

She checked on her pulse. She felt something. But it was weak. Dangerously weak. She looked around. Many, many other witches had had their clothes ripped apart from their body as well.

This was a recurring thing. Perfectly matching. All of them had been dealt with the same way. Bridget was overwhelmed for the first time in many months as she occupied the role of Witch Queen, here at the Autumn coven, ever since September left. This was the first major issue since she was sitting on the throne. Confused and saddened to see her crew in such a dramatic and alarming state, she did her best to get a hold of herself. She moved her chin up and was fully prepared to submit herself to the same fate as the witch students who were lying down on the ground all around her. However, she wouldn't be going out without a serious fight. Whoever did this, Lord Monsoon or not, was going to pay severely. Bridget was on her way to investigate and search the rest of the village when she heard something around her on the main street. The dozen witches were all unconscious and couldn't be of any help to the current Witch Queen for now. However, right before she left them alone for the time being, she heard one of them moaning and grunting. Bridget's eyes grew large and wide. She stopped running again. The moaning and the grunting were faint and weak. Bridget slowly turned around and searched for the one witch of hers that had just left herself being heard. She quickly found her and rushed herself toward her.

"Lindsey? Are you still with me?" Bridget asked her.

"He was waiting for us… He was waiting for all of us…"

"Who was? Was it that pig, Monsoon?" Bridget demanded.

"He attacked us… He defeated us, one after the other… It felt wrong to lose but we couldn't do anything about it… We didn't have a chance, we tried, but we had no chance… We all tried, Queen… We all did…" Lindsey, the witch student, admitted to her dear Witch Queen as she painfully coughed… She was not herself. She was in total panic. Bridget hugged her tight. Petted her head. Tried helping.

"It's going to be just fine… I'm going to go take care of the monster now. You don't have to be afraid anymore. I'm taking care of things," Bridget promised her that everything was going to be okay.

"No! You can't! You can't defeat him by yourself! It's suicide! We tried! We all tried! You have to run! You have to escape while you still have some time left. I believe I am still able to stand and walk. I'll go find him and attempt to distract him, so we can gain you some more time. That's the best I can do. There might also be a few other witches who still haven't been found by him. I'm going to try to find them while you escape. Promise me you are going to escape!" she said.

"You are in shock, Lindsey. We are never going to do this. I am not escaping. And I am not leaving you to distract him. Stay here. Rest. Gather your strengths. I am going after him." she replied.

"No! Don't do this! Let me come with you at least!" she begged her as she desperately tried getting up, but awkwardly failed to do so and slipped back on the ground, right before her Witch Queen caught her just in time. She helped her lie down again, against her will. She didn't want to cooperate with her. She wanted to fight.

"Listen to me, now, you stay here. Rest and I'm coming back for all of you as soon as I am done with that swine, ass-hole. Understood?" Bridget spoke a bit more roughly with her.

A few minutes later, the current Witch Queen stealthy jumped from roof to roof in town. She cast a levitation spell, which made her look like she was softly flying with the wind. She was searching for Lord Monsoon. Focused on locating him and dealing with him at all cost. The dark clouds above the small village intensified with more electricity than ever and even turned darker. It was getting worse out there. It was becoming a lot worse.

Running out of options to locate him after searching for over fifteen minutes, Bridget went to the side of the village where the thunderstorm appeared to be at its worst: The church of the coven, where the throne was.

Bridget stealthy went there. Sneaked her way inside. Took a sneak peek at the throne room while remaining hidden… This was when she made another discovery: She found him! She finally found him! Lord Monsoon was sitting on her throne.

He had Debra with him, the youngest among all of her students.

He had her sitting on his lap, too.
