Nigel, with perfect gestures and the correct incantation, successfully transfigured it on his first try.

McGonagall can't believe what she is seeing. This is unheard of: a student performing a successful Transfiguration on the first attempt. Students who were watching can't understand how he did it, while they can't even slightly transfigure, which aroused jealousy among them. McGonagall composed herself and praised Nigel.

"Well done, Mr. Black. 20 points to Slytherin."

"How did you do it?" Rose, who sat beside him, asked. Selina also nodded, indicating she was also interested in knowing.

"You both are doing everything perfectly, whether it is wand movement or incantation. The problem is you're not imagining it properly. Take mine and picture it properly, and let the magic flow through your wand," Nigel advised.

They both nodded and started applying his theory, and this showed results. Rose was able to change the color, and Selina succeeded in making it pointed.

"Very good, try again a few times, and you will get it," he encouraged both.

After some time, Rose happily announced, "Look, I've done it!" In front of Rose, there was an exact replica of Nigel's needle.

"Very good, Miss Potter. 10 points to Slytherin," McGonagall said.

"I did it," this time it was Selina who also had an exact replica of his needle.

"10 points to Slytherin. Well done, Miss Malfoy. Keep it up like this," McGonagall, who was observing the trio, praised.

With that, class continued, and at last, except for these three, only Hermione Granger achieved partial Transfiguration, making the match somewhat silvery and pointed.

"Today, only 3 students successfully achieved Transfiguration. You should be able to achieve Transfiguration at the next class, which is on the day after tomorrow," she said.

With that, the bell rang, signaling the end of class. As students started leaving.

Charms classes were held in Class 99 in the South Tower and Classroom 2E along the Charms corridor on the third floor, near the Third-floor corridor. Classroom 2E had three rows of desks, all facing the teacher's table, behind which sat a large upholstered chair with a high back. Two blackboards flanked the teacher's table, and behind them was a small shelf with books and other objects, beneath a pair of windows. It was taught by Professor Flitwick.

Nigel, Rose, and Selina were sitting in the 1st row, 2nd bench. This class was with Ravenclaw students. Class started with roll call:

"Ravenclaw:

1. Terry Boot

2. Mandy Brocklehurst

3. Michael Corner

4. Anthony Goldstein

5. Padma Patil

...

...

...

Slytherin:

1. Draco Malfoy

2. Selina Malfoy

3. Daphne Greengrass

...

...

...

6. Nigel Black

7. Rose Potter

...

...

.."

When Professor Flitwick called Rose's name, he squealed and fell from his bookish chair. He climbed back and continued the roll call.

"Students in Charms, we will learn the correct and efficient way to cast spells. We will start with the most basic spell, the 'Wand-Lighting Charm'."

He announced, "Take out your parchment and take notes."

"Now, the Wand-Lighting Charm (Lumos) is a charm that illuminates the tip of the caster's wand, allowing the caster to see in the dark. The charm could be used to reveal magically hidden things. You may also be able to repel ghosts and other spectral foes, such as Gytrashes, from which they would flee."

He explained, "The Wand-Lighting Charm is simple but requires concentration. This light is fairly warm and risks igniting flammable things, including the caster's wand if they are careless enough. If in any doubt about your abilities, you would do better to buy yourself a magic lantern."

"Now, if you want to extinguish others' Wand-Lighting Charm, the counter-charm for the spell is the Wand-Extinguishing Charm (Nox), which is used to extinguish the light from the caster's wand, which we will learn next," he told about the countermeasure.

"In order to illuminate the end of a wand, the caster must call out the incantation 'Lumos.' If correctly incanted, the end of the wand will then illuminate and cast light in the immediate vicinity of the caster," he said while demonstrating the wand movement.

"Now, look carefully. I am going to perform the charm. 'Lumos'," he incanted while moving his wand in the right way, and a bulb-like structure started glowing and emitting a small amount of heat.

"Now, give it a try but be careful," he told the students to try.

"Lumos," Nigel incanted with proper wand movement, and there was a light source at the tip of his wand, with the same intensity as the professor.

"Excellent, Mr. Black," Professor praised. "5 points to Slytherin."

"Lumos," Selina incanted, and also on her first try, she lit her wand properly but with relatively less brightness.

"Ahhaa, another one from Slytherin. Very good," Professor happily said.

"Lumos," Rose incanted, and on her 5th attempt, she was successful, earning praise from the professor.

By the time class came to an end, all students were able to light up their wands, albeit with different intensities.

"You all performed very well," Professor praised the whole class.

Then they heard the ringing sound of the bell signifying the end of class.

Students went out from class to the Great Hall for their lunch. On the way, Nigel commented, "Charms were fairly easy compared to Transfiguration," starting a conversation with Rose and Selina.

"Yeah, I got it on the 5th try," Rose agreed with him.

"How can you both perform magic so easily?" Rose inquired.

"After getting our wands, both Draco and I were taught by our mother," Selina answered.

"Lucky you," Rose replied in a low voice.

"You know, I could teach you each and every spell or help you with potions and others," Nigel offered, sensing her mood.

"And yes, how could you perform magic so easily? I know you are intelligent, but performing both Transfiguration and charms on the first try and with the same precision as the professors," Rose asked with a curious gaze.

"Well, you see, this is not exactly my first time," he replied

"What do you mean by not the first time?" she asked.

"Before coming to Hogwarts, I mastered all the magic except potion and herbology," he answered.

"Now that I've taken notice of something, how could you be allowed to practice magic outside of Hogwarts?" she asked again.

"Father pulled some strings," Selina answered.

Rose nodded and looked at Nigel with a questioning gaze.

"They didn't actually warn me, so I went ahead and tried in the absence of Muggles. And it succeeded; no one sent any letters about underage magic restrictions," Nigel replied.

"Selina, I envy you," Rose said in a joking tone.

"You know, I could help you in that matter," Nigel offered to Rose.

By that time, they had already reached the Great Hall, so they halted their talk for some time and proceeded to sit. After serving food on their own plates, they resumed.

"How? Tell me now," Rose excitedly asked.

"First, you have to inherit your heritage. Then we have to look for any rule regarding leniency toward underage magic," he shared his idea.

"I don't think it will be that easy. Otherwise, every family would do it," Rose expressed her concern.

"No, it won't be," Nigel replied.

Hearing him, Rose became sad.

"But her father can help us, right, Selina?" he guessed.

Selina, who was silently eating her food, jerked her head up and looked at him with a dumbfounded expression and replied, "I don't think so; Father is extremely prideful."

Rose, hearing this, turned towards him with a worried look.

"Don't worry," he reassured Rose, then turned towards Selina.

"I know perfectly about your father, but in this case, your mother would prove more useful. If you don't know, one of the contacts made during their marriage is to support each other's family, if helping others doesn't cause any problems for one's own family."

"Selina can you arrange a meeting with your mother?" he asked.

"I will inform mom about it.," Selina answered.

"Really, that would be that easy?" Rose asked.

"No, that won't be. We have to negotiate with him, and for that to end up in our favor, we will need someone who can negotiate on our terms," he answered.

"And who might that be?" Rose inquired.

"You will meet that person later," he answered.

After finishing their food, they went to the last class for today, Herbology with Hufflepuff.

Herbology class was located outside of the Hogwarts castle. These classes were held in the grounds of Hogwarts, in the greenhouses located behind the castle. This area consisted of a square-shaped room, with tables for students, several potted plants on the table, and a Venomous Tentacula in one of the corners. A door connected it to the Vine Vicinity.

Students started coming, their eyes wandering to different types of plants.

"Ringggggg!"

They heard a bell ringing sound and quickly came up to the tables and stood beside them. The next moment, Professor Pomona Sprout entered the class.

"Good afternoon, students. My name is Pomona Sprout, but you have to call me Professor Sprout instead," she introduced herself.

"I will start with roll call first..

...

"

"Alright, Herbology is the study of magical and mundane plants and fungi. In this class, students learn how to properly care for and utilize different plants, as well as learn about their magical properties and what they are used for. Many plants provide ingredients for potions and medicine, while others have magical effects of their own. Students are also taught a few spells that are helpful for gardening, such as the Herbivicus Charm," she introduced Herbology.

"Today we will learn 'The Fire-Making spell.' Take out your quills and parchment," she said.

"The Fire-Making Spell, also known as the Fire-Making Charm (Incendio), is a charm that conjures a jet of flames that can be used to set things alight. This spell is used to deal with Devil's Snare and other dangerous plants," Professor theorized.

"However, the ability to produce fire with the flick of a wand can be dangerous to your fellow students and, worse, your books. So it should be handled carefully," she warned.

"Okay, students, see here," she grabbed their attention and pointed her wand towards one of the several potted plants on the tables. With a flick and incantation, "Incendio!" reddish fires came out of her wand and burned the plant to a crisp.

"Now, try it yourselves," she announced.

"Incendio!" with a feminine voice, Selina Malfoy projected a jet of red fire towards the potted plants, burning it in the process.

"Aahhaa, well done, 10 points to Slytherin," Professor praised. Selina turned towards Nigel and smirked. Nigel shook his head at the naivety of this girl who thought she got before him.

"Incendio!" he incanted, and a thin jet of fire came out of his wand, burning the whole plant.

"Incendio!" Rose incanted with the proper wand movement, but nothing happened.

"Incendio!" Still nothing.

"Incendio!" Again, nothing.

After trying many times, "Incendio!" she successfully cast the spell and turned towards Nigel.

"Well done, Rose," he complimented.

"Thanks," Rose thanked him.
