Grandma

'Did that guy really throw me under the bridge like that,' Luke thought to himself as he could feel his legs shaking at the mere sight of the creature.

The creature, on the other hand, seemed to have stopped its rage the moment Luke was put forward, staring at him from head to toe, after a minute of awkward silence, where one party is awaiting an attack while the other is busy analyzing.

The creature suddenly, stood up straight as the flames in their hand dissipated, its wings closing back and even its deformed face, started melting away revealing a beautiful appearance.

The boss of those monsters turned out to be a beautiful grandma, who was dressed in a beautiful purple gown, her golden blonde hair, and purely beautiful blue eyes looked over at Luke with sudden warmth.

Luke who was flabbergasted at the sight slowly came to the realization, 'Whadafuqqqq! Wait! I think I remember reading somewhere that Veela's could transform into an ungodly creature whenever they got angry... so this means...'

The old grandma suddenly leaped at him, picking him up and embracing him.

"You look just like her..." she said with a somber voice as he could feel tears rolling in the old woman's eyes, "I am sure you don't know me... but I am your grandmother."

"I see..." Luke said awkwardly not sure what to feel, but feeling the warm embrace of the woman, he gave up any idea of discomfort and hugged the woman back to reassure her, that it was okay.

Simultaneously, all the other Veela's surrounding them, returned back to their original form looking over the two with warmth.

It was a happy moment that was picture-perfect. Imagine a scene from a movie, where every single person who could be a supermodel was just lovingly embracing each other with tears of happiness, that was exactly this. Not to mention, every one of those Veela' were women.

Even Jacob ran over like the attention seeker he was yelling, "Grandma! It's me, Jacob!"

'Wait a moment, she only recognized me and not him...' Luke thought of a way to tease his brother further but for the sake of the moment he decided to let it go, 'I'll see to that later.'

But the moment didn't last longer as soon as Micaehl stepped forward to speak, "If the reunion is over, I need to talk to you about something, Valery"

The Veela' who had calmed down, immediately frowned, even his grandma was staring daggers at him, but unlike previously she didn't turn back to a monster, but instead looked away from Michael and said, "Take him to the hall!"

The two men appeared out of nowhere and immediately obliged surrounding Michael, as they took him away.

Jacob who was confused as to what he should do, looked back and forth between his father and grandma, "Should I go with him?"

"Don't worry about him my dear," She said with a blissful smile patting Jacob on the head, "Let's go towards the garden, I have much to catch up with my grandsons."

Luke who was still being carried by his grandma, and Jacob following soon after entered deep inside the forest which revealed, a beautiful village.

There were houses of all sizes made up of wood all over the place, including on the branches of some of the huge trees, all of them decorated with various flowers and vines, there was a crystal clear lake at the center of the house filled with lilies as dragonflies and blue pixies mischievously roamed around them.

Going through the village, the trio arrived inside a small garden that was filled with varieties of several different flowers, all colorful and beautiful. They sat on a well-decorated bench, in the middle of the garden.

"Did you know you were a Veela?" Valery asked Luke,

"Not until today, although I did read about them a little but I never would have imagined myself being one," Luke answered honestly as the woman's warmth reminded him of his own grandmother making him feel more relaxed and comfortable with her,

"Don't go asking your questions again." Jacob interrupted, "You don't want to stress, grandma out..."

"Haha... I see, so our little Luke seems to be quite mischievous," Valery said with a smile, despite her wrinkles her beauty didn't seem to have faded by even a little, "That reminds me, where is Ethan? Didn't he come with you?"

"He's at the wizarding school in Uganda, Last, we heard from him, he had become a substitute teacher there," Jacob answered, "But I am sure, he regrets missing out on not being here."

"That's okay, you've both grown bigger than I had expected you to, after all, the last time I saw you, you were still a little child running around your father and this little guy was still in his mother's belly," Valery said, "So it's okay to pursue whatever you want, and I mean that, despite what your father tells you."

"I don't need you guys to tell me, that Ethan being away is your father's doing." She continued, "But I wish, you could get away from that man and pursue your own dreams, whether it be being a teacher, opening your own shop, or even something like being an adventurer, that's what your mother would want for you children as well,"

Jacob stayed silent while Valery took out some toffee' handing it out to the two of them, "Don't worry about this old woman's rambling, I am sure you know what you guys are doing,"

"So Luke, have you thought of what you want to become," Valery turned towards Luke who was busy agreeing with the sweet woman's words,

"Um, I don't exactly know," Luke shrugged, "Currently, I just want to study and once I get older, I just want to explore this magical world, after all, this is all new to me."

Valery looked confused, as she turned towards Jacob who tried looking away but couldn't get rid of her stare from any direction, as he finally confessed, "Luke was living with our uncle till recently, but when we heard about his magical awakening, we bought him home."

Jacob spoke so fast that Luke was convinced if nothing worked out for him, Jacob could very well pick being a rapper as a career.

Despite the calm atmosphere, there seemed to be a tinge of anger in the atmosphere,

"I see," said Valery very calmly as she stood up, "You boys stay here, I'll go meet with your father!"

Watching Valery walk away, Luke turned towards Jacob who seemed to be panicking, "Chill out! You idiot!"

"You don't get it!"

"I don't need to," Luke said somewhat understanding the situation, a protective grandma, who hadn't seen her grandsons for such long periods of time, his asshole father, it was clearly a mixture for disaster, "It's either you learn to lie better, or not panic about this stuff,"

"Let's go, we might see something interesting," Luke said, 'The torture I endured for 3 months, hopefully, dear granny will resolve my grievances!'
