Madam Baxter then put Max on the bed, and she took out her wand and performed a cleaning spell on him before using another one to clean the sheets filled with blood. At this time, Max's mental firewall got broken down a little because he had never seen these things before. But he was still ok because turning into a baby was much more impactful than seeing magic.

'Magic? Well, you can't see that every day. Pur-go!! SKUR-ji-fy!!! Nice one, old lady. I think I remember something about this place. There were some books and a TV Series before I got here. They were about some Harry something Potter trying to stop some evil wizard that killed everyone that stopped in his way,' Max said to himself after getting a little surprised after seeing the magic spells that Madam Baxter performed on him and the bedsheets. 'I only remember these things because of Mrs.Hill non-stop talking. It seemed that show was her daughter, Sarah's favorite show. Mrs.Hill told me that she watched these movies every week to remember her daughter. No wonder that girl named Sarah tried to resist as if she was a hero of some kind. Those TV shows are nothing good. They convince the people that they are some kind of heroes, and they all die in the end. I did not get to watch it myself since I did not care much about those things, but I liked the character of the dark lord in this show. Probably, I will get to see him one day. It seems there are new ways to enjoy hunting in this world.'

A few days later,

In the Transfiguration Professor's office, Hogwarts,

"Did you hear the news, Albus? How could Corvus do such a thing to the poor Nadia? The two were my favorite couple when they were at Hogwarts. I can't believe that Nadia died just like that," Horace Slughorn asked as he looked at Dumbledore, who was sitting on his chair, thinking of something. When he heard the news, he did not wait for a second before coming to Dumbledore to discuss this matter with him. He was angry because the two people involved in this accident were among his best students he was proud of in his Slug Club. Although Nadia was a muggle-born and did not have any status in the wizarding world, she was really excellent enough to earn herself a slot in the Slug Club.

"I heard. It is an unfortunate accident that happened to poor Nadia. But we could not prevent it, even if we went there," Albus Dumbledore said as he looked at his friend Horace. He had a lot in his mind these few days because of Tom Riddle. Dumbledore did not know what Tom was preparing to do these days, and he was worried that Tom would turn to the dark side. Tom had learned Occlumency a long time ago and was able to drive Dumbledore away from his mind. "It is not like you to worry about the muggle-borns, Horace."

Horace looked at Dumbledore weirdly because he thought Dumbledore would be the one that was most concerned about this since this matter was likely linked to Tom. "Well, Nadia was an excellent witch, and I did not like seeing her gone like that. I also was the one that introduced her to Corvus, and I am feeling a little guilty about this."

"Huh, even if you or I went there to stop Corvus, what could we have done? It was her choice to take that potion or not. If she did not, we could have intervened, but she took it with her own hands. Even the ministry could not punish Corvus for threatening her. He would mostly donate to some projects, and the ministry would act blindly about this matter," Dumbledore said as he shook his head after hearing Horace's words. He was really keeping an eye on all the pure-blood families and knew what was happening around there with everyone, but he would not butt in every problem that arose. If Corvus dared to use his wand to kill Nadia, he would have gone personally to chase him for doing that. But Corvus only gave her a potion, and it was Nadia's choice in the end. "You should focus on your work instead, Horace."

"What about the boy? Are we going to leave him in the orphanage for the muggles to take care of him despite being a descendent of the Lestrange family? We should talk with Corvus about this at least. I am sure that we could make him see the mistake he is making by leaving his son in the muggles' hands," Horace said as he looked at Dumbledore to see what he got to say. In fact, Horace did not care about the young child, who was a half-blood. What he cared about was his image and the future potential of that child. That boy was the child of two brilliant parents, and he could turn into someone great in the future.

"It is better for the young boy to stay away from our world for the time being. Corvus would not accept him into the Lestrange family, even if we talked to him. At least, he could find some happiness in the muggle world where no one would try to kill him," Dumbledore said as he shook his head to disagree with Horace's decision. But after saying those words, he turned to Horace and spoke again. "Enough about this matter. Aren't you going to tell me what Tom asked you that day?"

Horace's expression changed after hearing those words because he felt guilty in his heart for misguiding the young Tom that day. Horace would never tell anyone what he did, even if Tom turned into the most hated wizard in the world. Horace was not going to hurt his reputation and tell Dumbledore about what he did. And Horace was sure that Dumbledore would never find out because his Occlumency was over the top, and even Dumbledore would never get the chance to penetrate his mind defenses. Horace was planning to take this secret with him to the grave so that no one could use that against him in the future. "He was only complaining about the other teacher in this school and nothing else. Well, I still have something to do. I will see you later, Dumbledore."

After saying those words, Horace did not wait for Dumbledore's reply before standing up and leaving the office without saying another word. Only Dumbledore stayed there on his chair, thinking about what Tom had really asked Horace that day. Although he had some guesses in his mind about the dark arts that Tom might be using right now, he needed to be sure before he tried to stop Tom. Dark arts were not a child's play that anyone could mess with them, and every art was much different than the others, and even he could not face some of them.

At the same time,

In Lestrange manor, dining room,

"Was it really the right decision to leave the boy alive, Corvus? If the lord heard about this, I am sure that he would kill us," Carl Lestrange said with a smile on his face as he looked at his brother to see what he would say. In fact, he wished the dark lord would punish his brother because he would get the chance to become the lord. But Carl had to advise Corvus because the dark lord would not differentiate between them and would likely kill them both. Carl thought that he would ditch his brother and tell on him if the dark lord came to know the truth. "You should have killed him with that slut."

Corvus looked at his brother with some hate in his eyes because he knew what he was trying to do. Although he did not have any more feeling for that muggle-born witch, the boy was his son, after all. Corvus would have liked to raise him up if not for his brother's dirty mouth. "There were many people in the hospital, and I could not do anything with my own hands. We will get more chances in the future to do that. You only have to shut that snitching mouth of yours."

"Fine. I warned you anyway. I am not that one that will get punished by the lord," Carl said with a tiny smile on his face as he looked at his brother. Carl was still planning to snitch on his brother to the dark lord, but he had to wait for the right time to do that. Corvus was one of the closest friends to the dark lord, and he was one of the few people that followed the dark lord since the start of his first days in Hogwarts. That was why it was better for Carl to wait for a suitable time to snitch on his brother. "But what would mother say when she knew that she had a half-blood grandson?"

Corvus wanted to kill his brother, Carl, at this moment for trying to play with him like that. But he did not do it since he did not have any heir yet. At this moment, the Lestrange family had only Carl, his mother, and him. If he killed Carl and anything happened to him for any reason, he would end his family's legacy with his own hands, and Corvus was not planning to be the biggest sinner that his family had. That was why he did not kill or chase Carl away. His child with Nadia could have helped him doing what he wanted with Carl, but his mother would refuse to use a half-blood as an heir to their family.
