Meeting a Veela

--July 5th, 1991, Duval Estate--

The Reinhardt family had been visiting France for about a week now and they were planning on leaving within a couple of days.

Before they left, however, Theodoric had told his grandchildren that they and the Duvals would go over to an old family friend's house, he had planned for them to visit this family back when Alaric was younger but due to becoming swamped with work, and Alarics magic training, he hadn't gotten around to planning it.

(A/N It was actually my fault, I forgot.)

Author forgetfulness aside, Today was the day Theodoric would bring his family to go meet them.

"Kids! Hurry up for Merlin's sake, we haven't all day!" Theodoric called out to Alaric and Sofia who were upstairs trying to grab their two magic wolf pups who thought it would be a good day to suddenly learn how to levitate.

"Bloody hell, these pups sure can move!" Sofia exclaimed with surprise and annoyance mixed together

The two siblings went on to chase the misbehaving pups for another few minutes until Alaric got bored and decided to end this charade and stop the puppies, sure he could've done that the second they misbehaved, but then he would've missed out on seeing his "oh-so-great" sister fall on her ass having gotten juked out by one of the delinquent pups.

without giving the pups another second of reprieve, Alaric cast a silent 'Accio' and the magic wolf pups came flying straight at him.

Alaric softly caught both puppies and sent them into the suitcase where they would stay with the other puppies under the supervision of Onyx who had flown over to France a couple of days ago and had since assumed leadership of the new herd of Hippogriffs, he has even taken one of the females, an all-white colored hippogriff, as his mate, something the others were jealous of since Alaric had yet to get them, mates, as well.

Speaking of the suitcase, Alaric would be bringing it with him as he does almost everywhere else, especially now that he doesn't have to enter it to feed the creatures after he set up a charmed feeding station in all of the living areas that they chose.

Now that he doesn't have to enter and leave the outside unattended, Alaric was free to bring the suitcase with him at all times, doing so makes him feel better since he knows that nothing can happen to the creatures inside.

Alaric may still be weaker in magic power compared to Dumbles and Voldemort, as of now anyway, but that is about all he is weaker than them at. If Alaric really wanted to escape, there wasn't any way in hell that those two could stop him.

But this raw power deficit won't continue for long, under the constant magical strain he puts himself under physically and the exercise of totally using all of the magic in his core until its completely empty, Alaric should have enough magic power to rival the two geezers anytime soon, all that he is really waiting for is his body to enter its state of rapid magic development.

One of the reasons Alaric has amassed such a large amount of pure magic power throughout his different lives was the added efforts of taking advantage of this 7 year period accompanied by the stored magic power he keeps in his study on Pellworm Island in the ancient Reinhardt Castle.

The reason why he has to store his magic power away before he dies and is reborn is that if he doesn't and is reborn with the immense power that is connected to his soul, then his child-like body would literally explode.

The way he learned this was through the hard way when he had reincarnated for his second to last life before his time as Alaric I, he had exploded the second he regained consciousness, thus throwing him back into the cycle of rebirth

To remedy this, during his life as Alaric I, after the construction of the castle was complete, he created five magic orbs that could divide and hold all of his magic power, one of the five has enough power for the limit of what a pre-magic pubescent body if you will, could take and the others are split into two-year increments for when they will release the power back into him, and the nifty thing is, the power will reach him no matter where he is.

So, in conclusion, although he may be slightly weaker than the old man and the noseless snake at the moment, after his first year on his twelfth birthday, as long as nothing goes wrong, the first orb will release sending him enough magic to make him stronger than either of them.

The reason why it would be the second orb and not the first was due to the first one being released the second he is reborn.

With that thought coming to a close, Alaric and Sofia both came downstairs and they went with their Uncle and cousin to the front of the estate where Theodoric was waiting for them in front of a carriage that was being pushed by four abraxans.

"Finally, I thought you two were going to take forever so I came out here to check up on the carriage and abraxans, so, are you all ready to depart," Theodoric said to the group

After everyone climbed into the carriage and they gave the go-ahead, the driver of the carriage signaled for the abraxans to take off with his reins.

--A few minutes later--

Although the distance wasn't too terribly far from their location, Theodoric still wanted to give his grandchildren the experience of riding in a flying carriage, considering the looks of pure joy emanating off of Sofia and Silas' faces he was satisfied, however, little to his surprise, Alaric was stone cold throughout the entire journey.

After dwelling on it for the slightest moment, Theodoric just chalked it up to the boy having flown before on a hippogriff so it wasn't as exciting for him.

Once a Manor was in sight, the carriage started its descent toward the large driveway that sits at the front of the estate.

The carriage came to a slow stop as the abraxans lost their momentum, the carriage door then promptly swing open ushering the family of five to step out.

"Wow, I never knew flying carriages were so cool!" Sofia yelled with excitement

"Yes, how very exciting," Alaric said while rolling his eyes.

"Hmph!" Sofia expressed just as she pulled out her wand and sent a stinging jinx at Alaric who swiftly gave her a reprise

"Protego, Levioso, Immobulus." Alaric said in quick succession, blocking his sister's jinx, lifting her up into the air, and then immobilizing her as she fell back toward the ground.

As Theodoric reprimanded the boy for what he had just done and proceeded to undo the charm, which he found quite difficult, the group heard a child giggle and turned toward the source of the sound.

Looking to where the little girl who just giggled was, Alaric saw a family of four come out of the manor, a single man who looked to be the husband of the beautiful women next to him, and the two girls who he assumed were their daughters, one thing he noticed was how all three women had silver colored hair, the man only having brown hair.

Alaric also quickly sensed some sort of magic trying to influence his mind, more specifically, he felt the magic try to drive him into a lustful state, however, using his chad mentality- ahem, his innate ancient magic, he easily neutralized the allure that he was feeling.

A family of Veela huh.'

""It's not very nice to laugh at others Mon chéri."" the older lady said to her daughter

""I'm sorry maman."" The little girl who looked to be around seven years old

""Ah, Apolline, it's been quite some time hasn't it?"" Theodoric said with a smile as he walked toward the group

""Theo, how have you been? I trust that the kids haven't been giving you any issues?"" Apolline asked in response to Theodorics greeting

""Haha, no nothing like that, they have kept me on my toes sure, but they've been nothing less than a joy to have around.""

""Everyone, this is Apolline Delacour, the matriarch of the Delacour Family, her husband Pierre Delacour, and their daughters, Fleur, and Gabrielle."" Theodoric said as he then went on to introduce Alaric, his sister, uncle, and cousin.

'Knew it.' Alaric thought after hearing his grandfather confirm the identity of the woman and subsequently the whole family in front of him.

'Apolline Delacour, so that makes the girl around Sofia's age Fleur, and the little girl Gabrielle.'

As the group walked towards the Delacour family, Alaric could sense his uncle having a hard time resisting the allure of Apolline, fleurs were still too weak to affect the grown wizard, but her mother was a whole other matter.

Poor little Silas wasn't fairing much better, as he was being assaulted by her and Fleur's allure.

"Ahem!" Alaric grabbed Theodoric's attention and motioned toward the two dumbstruck Duvals, noticing what happened he could only chuckle as he cast a charm to protect the two of them, more so Silas as Apolline retracted her allure making Louis come back to reality.

As Theodoric was helping Silas regain his bearings, he glanced toward Alaric and was quite impressed to find the boy completely unaffected, he didn't know how he did it, but nonetheless, he was impressed.

Theodoric wasn't the only one who noticed this however, Apolline and Fleur both had been slightly taken aback by the boy's ability to resist their allure, mainly Fleur's as she was unable to control it.

'How interesting.' Fleur thought with some curiosity spouting about Alaric

Apolline who saw the way Fleur was looking at Alaric could only make a small smile at her daughter. 'Hmm.' she hummed in curiosity, wondering if she should "do something" about this new development

Now that both Louis and Silas were back to being of sound mind, the group exchanged pleasantries

""My name is Alaric Siegfried Reinhardt, it is my utmost pleasure to make your acquaintance madame."" Alaric said with a bow, fully utilizing that ancient house etiquette that was drilled into him

'god I hate etiquette.' he thought with a silent grumble

as the Delacours replied with a pleasant greeting to him as well, Fleur stood there motionless seemingly deep in thought. It was only after her mother nudged her that she replied with the same greeting.

As she was about to shake Alaric's extended hand, she and Alaric both felt some sort of resonance from their magic, however, it left just as quickly as it appeared.

'How strange.' they both thought as they shook hands'
