14 Taking a train to Hogwarts!

1st of September.

King's Cross Station.

----------------------

Among many ordinary people, a boy with dark hair silently appeared in King's Cross Station. He was carrying a small suitcase and there seemed to be a snake wrapped around his left arm. He looked to be around eleven years old but seemed to be taller than other children of his age. He looked around the station until he found something and started to walk towards it.

'Finally, today I will enter Hogwarts as a student and not as a lost child. My previous experience wasn't perfect but that's a sure thing since I didn't have any experience in dealing with people, maybe only with animals.'

Soon after that thought Eric stopped and looked at a pillar in the middle of the station. To normal people, it was just a random pillar between platforms 10 and 9. But for Eric and other people who knew the secrets of this world, it was platform 9 3/4 where students from all over England would go through and finally take a train to Hogwarts. All there was to do is run through this pillar.

It was around 10:15 am and according to the ticket the train will leave at 11:00 am. Eric looked at the ticket in his hand and noticed that there seemed to be a faint trace of magic.

'That's maybe to allow children to go through the pillar. But I wonder what would happen if a student lost it.' Eric stopped thinking and started running towards the pillar.

The moment Eric touched the pillar his body seemed to be wrapped in some kind of slime that allowed him to pass through.

There weren't many people around but they all had some kind of robe and a pointy hat. Most of the people here had an elegant temperament and it felt like they were shouting rich with how their clothes were decorated.

Not minding any of these people Eric quickly stepped inside the Hogwarts Express and found a cabin with no people inside. It was quite an ordinary cabin and had nothing special inside, you would most probably find the same ones inside every train. But Eric didn't complain as long as there was a place to sit.

Time passed quickly and Platform 9 3/4 started to be crowded with all kinds of people. It was around 10:45 and the parents were saying their goodbyes to the children. There were a lot more parents that looked to be muggles. Only around 30% of the children seemed to be from wizarding families.

'How could that be? In the books and films, it was said that there were almost equal children between the four houses. But Slytherin accepts only children that have a trace of pure blood. And not only that but they had to have some special characteristics. If that was all taken into account there should be only 10% of all the children in Slytherin. Actually, now that I think about it that may be one of the reasons why Snape favors Slytherin students so much. How else could they get enough points with the least children? It looks like some things in the books shouldn't be trusted completely, or else it may get me in trouble.'

As the number of people arriving at the platform increased the number of children inside the Hogwarts Express increased accordingly. Most of the cabins were already full but the one where Eric was wasn't. That was because he especially put a mild confusing spell on the door of the cabin so that when someone wanted to sit there they would walk away and mind something else.

It was in the category of normal magic so no one could say anything about his dark magic. Of course, it wasn't any powerful spell, and if someone was especially searching for Eric's cabin the spell wouldn't work anymore.

Eric had nothing to complain about. There were no annoying or noisy children around him. Even though he was a child himself, after many experiences he already matured enough to appreciate a silent and calm atmosphere. With that surroundings, Eric started to study normal magic again. Actually don't take him for any genius in normal magic. Eric considered himself around average maybe a little better. But compared to his talent in dark magic it was unnoticeable.

So most of the time he spent studying the theory of normal magic and then went outside his house and experimented on some unlucky dark wizards.

After a few hours of reading and practicing with some small spells, there was a knock on the door of his cabin.

Eric already guessed who it was from the sound of the footsteps half a minute ago.

"Hello. Have you seen a frog named Trevor? A boy named Neville lost it." A girl with long brown hair opened the door of the cabin with an arrogant attitude.

Eric little irritated by how she interrupted his study session frowned a little and said. "Don't you know how to introduce yourself?"

The girl surprised by what he said quickly started talking. "My name is Hermione Granger. What's your name boy?" Still having the arrogant attitude from before even after being corrected.

"My name is Eric Walker. Nice to meet you, Hermione. But no, I haven't seen a frog named Trevor. You should probably continue searching in other cabins with more people or go find some senior student to use some spells to find him."

"That's a good idea! Why haven't I thought about that? Thank you, Eric. I hope we meet in the same college. . . . . ." She still continued talking even though she already left and closed the door. Actually, Eric or Slyde could easily find the frog in seconds with their magic sensing but why would they care?

'Well, that's one protagonist, two to go.' Eric thought sadly.

Being around the golden trio is something to be careful about. One of them has a part of the Dark lord inside him. One of them has an inferiority complex and can't think like a normal person. Well, the last one is just so rude and bossy. And everyone together is just a problem magnet.

After that Eric continued studying his normal magic again. But only a few minutes in there was another knock on the door of the cabin.

The door opened and two tall boys with orange hair stood outside.

"Come in," Eric said unhappily.

"Hello! My name is Fred!" "And my name is George!" The two announced with happy smiles.

"Hello, Fred and George. My name is Eric Walker." Eric introduced himself again.

"Eric, do you wanna buy some prank items from us?" "We have all kinds of prank items ranging from fake wands to exploding rats! Do you want a pudding?"

Fred and George said while suspiciously handing a small pudding into Eric's hands.

"No, thank you I don't like sweets very much," Eric declined quickly.

"Ah, how sad." Fred said but wasn't sad at all. "Are you sure you don't want to buy anything? We even have a magic pill that can protect girls from pregnancy. But you may not need that at this age but it sure is popular!" George continued selling.

"NO" Eric declined hurriedly again.

"Oh never mind then. Enjoy your ride Eric we are going. Bye" "Come to us if you need to buy something."

"Bye," Eric responded already happy that they left.

The rest of the ride continued without anything really happening much to Eric's happiness.

Three hours later the Hogwarts Express finally stopped. All students started leaving their cabins one after another.
