13 Buying a wand!

With a smile, Eric quickly went for a quill to write with, his mind racing with anticipation. He wanted to write to Hogwarts and ask if Snakes were allowed.

He had heard rumors that students were forbidden from bringing snakes as pets, but he couldn't resist. Even if the school forbade it he would bring Slyde anyway. It was his companion and best friend after all.

After writing for a few minutes, he put down the quill and gave the letter to the still very angry owl. The bird hooted and squawked in annoyance, clearly unimpressed with the task Eric had given it.

Uninterested, Eric opened the window and pushed the owl out, watching it fly away in the direction of Hogwarts.

'Although I planned to go to Diagon Alley tomorrow, I have the whole day to buy things. But there is no need to wait. I can just go today after all it's still morning and there is a lot of time left,' Eric thought to himself, excitement building in his chest.

Eric quickly put on his usual dark blue cloak and left the house. The atmosphere around his home was very lonely, but that was to be expected when anyone with bad intentions would be killed as soon as they got too close. Because of this, Eric gained an infamous nickname: Dark Hunter.

The name alone was fear-inducing, at least for dark wizards. After all, one or two dark wizards were killed by Eric every day. Over the years, Eric had gained a lot of wealth from the corpses of these dark wizards, which he could use to purchase supplies for Hogwarts.

Not that he needed too much money. There would be some packs already prepared for the first years to buy, containing all the necessary books and potion ingredients. It wouldn't take too much time or money to buy everything Eric needed. He estimated the price to be around 70 galleons at most.

Slyde, Eric's pet orb, had developed significantly over the years. Its core magic had improved beautifully, with the magic orb taking on a dark green color and becoming the size of a child's head. The sharp lines circling the core were probably the effect of Eric's dark magic influencing Slyde through their soul connection, making the orb even more deadly.

The most noticeable change was in its speed. Before, it could be dodged if you expected it, but now you could only try to protect yourself because the speed was now around 90km/h. At close distance, it was impossible to dodge. Even Eric, at a range of a few meters, would have a hard time avoiding it.

Of course, Eric had improved a lot too, especially in his dark magic. If he killed someone or something, he would gain more power. The main thing limiting Eric's strength was always the ability to control his dark magic and not let it consume him. Once he entered Hogwarts, he would lose his main strength of using dark magic, as there would be too many people who could notice it.

After a few minutes, Eric snuck into Diagon Alley through a secret entrance in one of the small alleys. It was still morning, around 8 AM, but the place was already bustling with people frantically buying supplies. The smart ones bought a pack with everything in it, saving hours. But the less smart individuals would go searching for each item in separate shops, losing hours and hours.

Eric knew about the packs, so he went into one of the shops and bought one after asking the shopkeeper for it. It cost exactly 69 galleons which made Eric's mood a little happier.

After walking in Diagon alley for a while Eric started looking for a shop that has one supply that he couldn't buy in the pack. It was a wand shop.

The best shop with wands was an Ollivanders shop which had many wands that were being created every day with special materials and each wand was unique.

After a few minutes of going around the Diagon alley, he finally found it.

From the outside, the Ollivanders wand shop appears to be a tall, narrow, and old building made of ancient and weathered wood. The sign above the shop's entrance displays the name of the shop, "Ollivanders," written in gold letters. The windows on the front of the shop are small and rectangular, with displays of various wands visible inside.

There seemed to be someone inside but Eric didn't mind and went in.

As he opened the door he saw a lot of shelves near together each one holding a ton of wands.

Of course, the people inside the shop looked at Eric. And who could guess who it was?

One big and one small. Hagrid and Harry Potter.

Harry had a sad smile on his face. 'Probably because of him not choosing any wand yet.'

At the same moment, an old man appeared from the back of the shop holding a box with what looked to be a simple but exquisite wand inside. He gave it to Harry to try ignoring that there seemed to be another person in the shop.

Harry was a little embarrassed but just tried this wand. Suddenly sparks appeared around Harry signaling something good.

The old man had to be Ollivander said in a low voice "Curious indeed how these things happen. The wand chooses the wizard, remember... I think we must expect great things from you, Mr. Potter... After all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things - terrible, yes, but great."

Eric already bored a little said "Hello? I am still here"

Ollivander immediately looked at Eric embarrassed a little and said "Oops. My bad how couldn't I notice you there? Come here."

"It's okay." Eric smiled a little and went towards the desk. Harry was looking at him happily since he was the first person of his age that he met.

"What's your name child?" Asked Ollivander in a little grandfather voice.

"Eric Walker," I responded.

"Interesting name. I think I heard it sometime ago from my friend but I am not too sure now. Well, try this wand." He immediately gave me a wand that looked almost like a branch.

As I took it I felt that it was not the one. Before I said or did anything Ollivander immediately put another wand in my hand and took the previous one back. This wand was black with detailed patterns of something similar to flowers.

This time the wand felt a little better but not comfortable.

"Flick with it a little." Said Ollivander. So I did.

A cold wind immediately made everyone shudder. And that was everything that happened. A cold wind. Cool, but lame.

Ollivander then continued and gave Eric another wand but with a frown on his face.

Eric touched the wand and he felt the connection immediately. The wand transmitted something to him like a switch to using neutral magic more easily. He poured a little neutral magic and it did wonders.

The shop got instantly a few degrees colder and there seemed to be a dark snake slowly coming up from the wand Eric was holding. The snake looked at everyone with cold eyes and then dissipated.

Everyone was stunned except Eric of course.

Ollivander immediately started explaining.

"Wood: Ebony, a dark wood that is often associated with power and protection

Core: Basilisk horn, a rare and powerful core that is often associated with dark magic.

Length: 12 3/4 inches, a longer length that suggests a wand that requires a skilled and precise touch

Flexibility: Unyielding, a wand with stiff flexibility that indicates a strong and stubborn personality of a wielder.

It is a great wand for the most powerful dark magic. One of the most dangerous wands out here." Still maintaining a frown on his face.

Harry and Hagrid were shocked by this but harry didn't mind too much after all he didn't know much about the division of magic. But Hagrid knew and looked a little more seriously at Eric.

He whispered something into Harry's ear impolitely.

"Don't associate with him in the future. He will become a killer."

Although Eric wouldn't be able to hear normally he isn't a normal person and with his senses, he heard it.

'Well I expected this kind of discrimination after people knew I can use dark magic but just because of a wand seems a little too much.'

Eric was unhappy with it but what was there to discuss?

Eric and Harry quickly paid and left the shop together without a word. Hagrid then immediately turned around and went somewhere else with harry not minding saying a word to Eric.

'Rude.' Eric thought but didn't care too much anyway. He was too happy with the new wand which was a perfect match for him. It had dark-colored patterns all over it. Some symbolize snakes and power. It was perfect for him.
