Chapter 5

Diagon Alley

"First we should go to Gringotts, the wizard's banks. The safest place in the world to keep your coin, well except for Hogwarts of course. And let me tell you something else-"

After arriving at Privet Drive, telling Harry that he was a wizard and trying to feed him something that he assured him, was a cake, Hagrid has not shut up for more than thirty seconds. He seems intent on telling Harry how great the wizarding world, Hogwarts, and of course Dumbledore are.

The best piece of information he got was that after his/Voldemort's downfall, people claimed Harry Potter as 'The boy who Lived' and worship him as a hero. Even tho the baby didn't do anything. It was obvious that whatever saved the baby Potter was something the mother did.

Also, it seems that even ten years after his supposed death. People are still too afraid to even mention his name and just refer to him as 'You know who'. Something that he found very amusing.

After walking, taking that stupid knight bus, and walking through all of Diagon Alley Harry was already beyond annoyed at hearing Hagrid talk. Luckily they seem to have arrived at their destination.

The bank looked like he remembered. Well, everything looked like he remembered, it hasn't been that long after all, since he walked those places. He has missed it though. There is something different in the air in magical areas, most cannot feel it, but he can.

They made their way toward the counter. Hagrid gave the goblin my vault key. When I asked why he had it, he said that Dumbledore kept it safe for me until I was of age. 'Of course, he did. I need to pay a later visit and talk to my account manager to make sure the 'great leader of the light' has not stolen all of my money.'

We went down the vault until we reached my vault. Which was just a trust vault. Neither Hagrid nor the goblin mentioned the family vault. Something else to talk about.

The vault contained a bit over 50.000 gallons or around 1.250.000 pounds.

Hogwarts cost 2000 galleons a year so is more than enough for education. But I'm sure there is more in the main vault. 'If not, I will have to find another way to get money. There are many things that I require at the moment and all of them are expensive.'

After getting enough money for shopping. They went into another vault. Apparently, Hagrid had some secret mission from Dumbledore to retrieve an item that no one must know about, for it is a secret.

'I guess is not secret enough to not take a student along. Not to mention Hagrid would be the last person I chose for such a task. It seems the old man wants to play some game. Well, let's play then.'

"Ei Hagrid, what's the secret package? It's very small, is it a magical ring or maybe a magical medallion?."

"Sorry, Arry i can't tell you what the secret stone is" He answered while placing the secret 'item' in his jacket.

"A stone? What kind of stone? a magical one? Did Dumbledore make it? what does it do?"

"How do you know it is a stone? i-i mean is not a stone. It could be anything. I'm sorry Arry but I cannot talk about this..hmm thing. Only Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel know about this." He gave me a pat on the shoulder as consolation and focused on something else.

'Nicolas Flamel? the famous alchemist who made the... the philosopher's stone then…I see… interesting. That is one of the items I have been wanting to get my hands on for a very long time.' He looked towards Hagrid and with an innocent smile said. "Ohh well that's too bad Hagrid. I love mysteries!".

While Hagrid went to get his books and other stuff, he left Harry at Madam Malkin's to get his uniform.

A woman guided him to a spot to stand on so she could take his measurements.

He then noticed another boy standing close to him. He had short platinum blonde hair and when he turned around to face him, Harry was surprised by seeing a miniature Lucius Malfoy. Then he realized that this must be his son.

"Going to Hogwarts too, I presume" The blond boy said.

"Yes" Harry answered bluntly.

He seems offended for a moment by the lack of respect for his persona "hump, I am Draco Malfoy by the way. Heir to the noble and ancient house of Malfoy. And you are?." He said, with an air of superiority.

He thought for a moment and decided it was better not to reveal his name to mini-Lucius. "I am Dudley Dursley."

Draco seems to be pondering for a moment, like trying to recall if there was any pureblood family with that name. After a few seconds he seems to be done, and his expression changes to one of disgust.

"You are one of those then. A mudblood" He looked at the woman taking his measurements "Finish already woman!, i don't want to spend more time here with these…filth" He gave Harry a glare. A mix between angry and disgusted.

"Y-yes my lord. We are done with the measurements. Your robes will be ready in an hour." The lady hurried to reply.

Draco didn't say anything else and without looking back he left.

Harry stood there and let the young girl taking his measurements continue her job. His face remained unchanged the whole time as if nothing affected him. This was in part due to his mastery of Occlumency which allowed him to have complete control of his emotions. On the other hand, he wasn't even sure he should feel offended, after all, mini-Lucius thought he was a mudblood so his reaction was understandable from his perspective.

In the past, he was the leader of a group of purebloods who all believe in pureblood supremacy. They didn't know that he didn't really share their beliefs. I mean, of course, he didn't. He wasn't even a pureblood born from an ancient magical family, but a half-blood born from a crazy witch and a brainwashed muggle. Not that they knew about that.

At first, he just wanted to fit in with Slytherin, so went along and behaved like all the purebloods did and hated the same things that they did. Then his goal started to change. He knew their beliefs were nonsense. He was the living proof of that. He was smarter than them. His magic was more powerful. He was superior to them at everything.

So he wanted to put them in their place. He created his order and collected followers. All of them purebloods from powerful families called themself Death Eaters.

They would follow all of his orders without question or they would pay for it, painfully.

'Ahh, it was fun to see them squirm in pain under my crucio…good times.'

But he never forgot about his true goal. What he wanted to archive since he found out that magic was real.

To reach the pinnacle of magic. To learn everything that there is to learn about magic and finally…to achieve immortality.
