Morpheus vs A Large Snake

After turning the rest of my miracle drug into pills I put some into a little glass bottle that fits nicely in my robe's inner pockets.

I then hid some in other spots in my robe that would allow me to take the pill faster than reaching for the bottle.

Finally, I set aside a couple to decide what I want to use them for in the future.

Checking the time I saw it was the next morning, meaning I'd been awake for over twenty-four hours.

Shaking my head slightly I began to put everything away. For what I wanted to do next I needed to wait until night.

I've already completed everything on my schedule for this winter break except the task of going into Salazar's chamber of secrets. If I remember correctly Salazar kept his pet down there, and if my intuition is correct Tom Riddle already descended into the chamber, hopefully, the Basilisk is still alive.

She could be a good defender for when war breaks out, basilisks are pains to raise. Well except if you have Parseltongue, that makes things much easier.

How I wish I could have that ability, sure there are ways to emulate the rare and ancient snake language but, emulation will only take one so far.

As the sun began to fall I prepared three nice fat sheep and a rooster. The sheep was for in case she was hungry and the rooster was for in case she wanted to try and eat me instead.

Silently I apparated into the castle, walking down the corridors I made my way to the Slytherin common room. The bathroom entrance to the chamber required the use of Parseltongue and sadly the items I had that could emulate the language have deteriorated over time.

I could use the voice of the world but, that would cost more energy than It was worth.

Saying the password I entered the Slytherin Commons room and approached the fireplace.

Not minding the fire I crouched and walked straight through which led to a corridor.

Walking a couple of steps I reached a blank wall, taking out my wand I tapped seemingly at random.

*crrrrr* The Wall began to move to reveal a staircase. Carefully I began to descend the winding steps, which eventually led me to a wooden door with a silver circular handle made of the image of a snake eating its tail.

Clasping the handle I gently knocked on the wooden door.

*pah*

*pah*

*pah*

*pah**pah*

*pah*

*pah*

Timing my knocks in a special pattern the door seemed to turn translucent allowing me to walk straight through.

The path took me straight to the chamber. The chamber is a vast, high-ceilinged space, with towering stone columns and a long, snakelike central aisle that seemed to stretch into the depths of the earth. At the far end, an enormous statue of Salazar Slytherin, stood.

The dampness in the air almost weighed you down, the soft, eerie glow of phosphorescent mushrooms and luminescent crystals that line the ancient stone walls gave off a mystical feeling.

I laughed slightly, "Oh how this place has changed," I said softly under my breath

To be honest, I almost like how the chamber has changed over the years, I'm a particular fan of darker themes and this chamber almost embodies the true sense of darkness.

As I delved deeper into the chamber I placed my bag down and reached inside grabbing for the sheep.

Pulling the three sheep out I cut into their skin causing a little blood to drip dying their beautiful white fur.

*swish!* I threw the sheep one by one into the center of the chamber

*kacha!* like a bolt of lightning a massive blur filled my vision, I already began to pull out the rooster.

I did not realize how massive the Basilisk would have grown this was simply unnatural, I'm now realizing my mistake I should have brought much more food.

"Sylvia! It's me Morpheus do you remember me when you were a child?" I said with some excitement

Sylvia was the beautiful basilisk's name.

*sssssss*

I widened my eyes and released the rooster's beak, "cock-a-doodle-doo!" the rooster yelled

As the massive serpent pounced in my direction, as that happened I apparated behind the Basilisk.

Even if she was hungry she should have recognized me! Sylvia would have never attacked me no matter how hungry she was.

Sylvia recoiled in pain and whipped her massive tail *SWOOSH* *cruckk* the rooster was obliterated.

The rooster's call only made her angrier.

Tom must have done something to her but, that should have been impossible Sylvia would only listen to Salazar.

I quickly transfigured the loose stone into more roosters, their screams wouldn't be nearly as effective as a real rooster but it was enough to distract her.

The screams of the transfigured roosters were doing their job of distracting Sylvia but I had to dodge her massive tail.

Swiveling my head I saw my perfect solution, channeling my magic I loudly intoned, "Piertotum Locomotor!" Whilst pointing at the grand statue of Salazar

*rrrrrrrrmmmmm* The old stone statue slowly walked forward

I flicked my wand rapidly in a half-crescent then trusted forward.

*swooosh*

Sylvia coiled her body and then shot between Salazar's feet dodging the massive stone fist.

Smirking I pointed my wand at the statue and said, "moratus CREPITUS" (delayed explosion)

The stone Salazar turned a hue of red, Sylvia shot in my direction, and I was unable to apparate as it would cut my connection to the animation spell.

Gritting my teeth I swung my wand arm sideways

*FWOOM* The stone Salazar's right arm advanced outward intercepting Sylvia

With impeccable body control, Sylvia coiled around the statue's arm intending to get rid of my main attack and defense force.

I laughed while flicking my wand in a check motion

The light red shade coloring the statue turned deep red *BOOOOM!*

"SSSSSSSS!" Sylvia hissed in pain while blasting backwards

Stone fragments rained from the sky, I ran to the center of the chamber and began to cast a wide Transfiguration spell.

The stone fragments soon turned to stone Spears, bringing my wand arm back I softly muttered, "Depulso,"

*swish!* the stone Spears flew through the air

*shickk*

*sruckkk*

*crckkk*

"SSSSsssssss.."

Sylvia lay against the back wall, blood pouring from her numerous wounds. I calmly walked forward and sighed softly at the sight, "What did he do to you?"

Sylvia ate humans, that was a fact.

Sylvia never attacked I or the founders, that is another fact.

Tom Riddle did something to her, I don't know what but he has made me slightly angry.

I checked to see if she was dead and then began to slowly harvest her for ingredients.

Yes, she could be called a companion but, I felt no qualms about taking her apart.

I'm sure Salazar wouldn't mind either.

"You were a tough one," I said while patting the snake's strong skin

Truly fighting beasts like this was troublesome, they couldn't be hurt by charms or curses due to their natural magic resistance.

That's why Transfiguration is the best method to employ while fighting a giant beast.

At least today I saw something truly rare, a basilisk that grew to this size was practically unheard of.

I've been around and seen many Baskalisks but Sylvia here was the biggest by far. Typically they don't grow past a certain size, Sylvia was certainly a rare breed. If I had known I would have brought a whole herd of sheep.
