59 hunting

*Morpheus pov*

A stone being embedded into my chest is surprisingly not the most uncomfortable thing that has been there.

It took me a couple of days to get used to the feeling, I could feel the slight pull of the ruby trying to make me act on my desires but it was practically nothing. I have dealt with and conquered much worse.

No, what made this stone so important was the fact I could use it to properly enter the world of dreams without God Morpheus hunting me down.

With it stuck in my chest I was invisible to him.

Of course, there are more functions that will help me greatly in the future but right now the presence of the Ruby is enough to deal with most of my problems.

At least until the war starts.

Today was the day I received the two envelopes and the information I requested. My Floo lit and a package soared through, I quickly stopped its rapid approach and floated the package to my hand.

Opening the package as I already knew what it was I saw two envelopes. Perenelle must be angry I asked them to make these on such short notice.

These envelopes are the best tools for assassination. They work exactly like portkeys but, appear in every way possible like a normal envelope.

No magical signal, of any sort. It could be inspected with every possible detection spell and the envelope would pass every test.

My first target is someone close to Britain actually, they are the current head of the land rights department Harold Minchum.

He seems to never leave the office and when he does he leaves by floo to his heavily warded house.

It would be impossible for me to break through the wards and kill him without the Aurors being alerted.

Especially since a demon was possessing him. No, possessing is too weak of a word Harold Minchum is a demon now.

That is a fact.

A demon that has a high position in the governmental system of wizarding Britain and the next minister of magic from what I foresaw.

That would be disastrous.

My floo lit once more and Cassiopeia walked through, my wards immediately locked onto her causing Cassiopeia to immediately stop in her tracks.

I could see a cold sweat form on her brow.

"These a strong wards," she said calmly

"The strongest," I replied with a gentle smile lifting some of them from her

Now able to move she brought out a folder, "The information you wanted, may I ask what is going to happen to these people?"

I laughed, "You will find out soon, why bother wasting the words,"

She smirked, "I guess that's true,"

"Did you fix the mental problems Bellatrix was having?" I asked while flipping through the folder

"Yes, we made her go to a mind healer it seems she made a mistake during Occlumency training. To hasty I heard," she replied

"Makes sense, some are just too hasty," I nodded

"Now if you excuse me I must write a letter," I motioned to the floo with a small smile

*Narrator pov*

In the heart of magical Britain, within the bustling hub of the Magical Post Office Enchantment Division, an envelope arrived via a swift owl. It was destined for a high-ranking Ministry employee, but before it could reach its final recipient, it underwent a series of meticulous inspections.

First in line were the skilled Curse-Breakers. With wands held high, they cast spells to unveil any hidden malevolence. After around fifteen minutes of using every spell they could think of the curse breakers were satisfied with not finding any hidden curses.

Once the Curse-Breakers nodded in approval, the envelope traveled to the Rune Experts. Seated in a room adorned with ancient symbols, they the enchanted parchment. Their eyes traced the fine parchment, ensuring no hidden scripts or symbols lingered beneath the surface.

Finally, having passed through the scrutiny of both Curse-Breakers and Rune Experts, the envelope embarked on the last leg of its journey. The owl carried it through the enchanted corridors of the Ministry, delivering it to the high-ranking official's office.

"Ah, another letter," Harold said in a grumpy tone

'If I knew all of the paperwork I'd be doing I would have volunteered for a different job' the demon thought scornfully

Taking his silver letter opener he seamlessly cut the seal. As the seal was broken, the magical energies within exploded outward. Harold couldn't even react before he was swept up into the magical energies.

"Hey Harold, what's this about?" Someone opened Harold's office door and saw an empty room

"Guess he went on lunch,"

Far away from the ministry inside a dark forest, Harold appeared inside of a giant pentagram.

Before he could react his limbs went stiff, he could still move his head and speak but not Move.

He was trapped.

"Glad you could make it Harold, or should I call you by your demon name care to share?" Morpheus who was waiting asked with a small innocent smile

"Morpheus!" Harold spat in anger

"Thought you could hide from me?" Morpheus asked in a mocking tone

"You bastard, release me so I can rip your throat out!" Harold roared his anger seemed to fill the boundless forest

"Draconia enchantments and wards? Interesting method to avoid my divination," Morpheus ignored the furious demon

"Well, I might as well kill you now I got what I came for, say by any chance will you tell me what's happening behind the veil or any alliances I should know about?" Morpheus asked with a cheeky tone

"You think you're so smart Morpheus," Harold sneered

"We have been waiting for this moment, stewing in our anger for centuries! And now? Now we are ready to destroy your pathetic race," The demon continued hysterically

"How will the humans react to knowing the whole reason they will be wiped off the face of the earth is because of YOU!" Harold laughed in the face of his death

Like he was the one winning in the end.

"Do you think I care? You can try to turn my people against me, it might even work but honestly, why would I care? I will win, and you will be confined to your tiny space behind the veil, there you will count down the days you have left as you are starved for magic. Every day I will be the center of your thoughts, well not your thoughts your peoples!" Morpheus said brightly before flicking his wand

The Pentagram around Harold began to shine a bright golden hue.

"ARGHHHHH!" Harold screamed in pain as his body and soul were consumed by the pentagram

His body slowly turned to dust, and his demonic soul ripped apart.

Morpheus turned to leave but as his back was turned he felt someone, something appear behind him.

"Morpheus, I'm glad you are still alive but don't you think it's time to stop this madness?" A female voice sounded behind the pale wizard

"So, you live on I'm glad honestly. Not too happy about what you've turned into, it looks like we will face each other in battle soon," Morpheus replied calmly his face perfectly composed

Turning around he smiled, "Beautiful as always Helga,"
