Sorting Ceremony & House

I met Hagrid and from his looks he was quite interested Byakko. When he ordered us to make group of 4 and get on the boat, Tracy, Daphne , me and another boy got on a boat. The boats start moving with Hagrid leading and ordering the ducks. I chuckled at this, which caught the girls attention, and asked me why I laughed. I said," Look at him a big man acting like mommy duck which shows he raised them quite well" they giggled at the first part of the speech but nodded at the latter part. We soon arrived at the stairs near the hall and Professor McGonagall was standing there waiting for us. I saw her and smiled at her which got me a reply which was visible to the others. "A few moments later, you will be put into houses through the Sorting Ceremony. The four houses are Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I will be back and take you to the ceremony." The girls asked me about Profeesor's nod and told them that she was the one the picked me up.

Someone from crowd said,"How will we get sorted into houses?" Nobody knew how will it be. Suddenly, Ron said,"I heard from George that they need to go through a trial to get sorted." Then I said," I also heard that the trial is very dangerous. Either you pass or die. Bodies get cut in half during the trial with the intestines flowing out." They paled hearing this, then they screamed not because of what I said but because the Hogwarts' ghosts had made their entry. The some students recognised some of them but did not say anything, and the ghosts also were embarrassed to say anything to the scared students.

Professor McGonagall came only to see scared students and a smiling me. She asks about it and Hermione told her what was talked about while she was gone. After listening to what happened, she looked at me looking for an explanation but I just smiled and shrugged like I didn't know anything. She then lead us into the hall. Many were amazed to see the hall and I heard Hermione speaking all she knows about Hogwarts. We saw a old dusty hat kept on a stool which started singing:

"Oh you may not think I'm pretty,

But don't judge on what you see,

I'll eat myself if you can find

A smarter hat than me.

You can keep your bowlers black,

Your top hats sleek and tall,

For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat

And I can cap them all.

There's nothing hidden in your head

The Sorting Hat can't see,

So try me on and I will tell you

Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,

Professor proceeded to tell,"Now I will call out the names and you need to come and sit on the stool. The Sorting Hat will be placed on your head and you will be sorted into your houses." When she finished speaking she saw all first years were looking at me with anger in their eyes, especially Daphne, Meeting her gaze I started sweating. She started calling out the names:

"Abbott, Hannah", a girl came out of the and sat on the stool. The moment the hat was place on her head, it spoke,"Hufflepuff". Hufflepuff cheered and clapped.

Then it was Susan Bones who got sorted into Hufflepuff. Names were called out Ron and Hermione got into Gryffindor.

"Potter,Harry". There was deathly silence. People saw a boy with glasses going to the stool. After some time heard the hat yell,"Gryffindor". Gryffindor cheered loudly. I heard the weasly twins say,"we got potter, we got potter". Harry proceeded to sit on the Gryffindor table. I noticed Dumbledore giving Harry a deep look.

Daphne and Tracy got into Slytherin. Then my name was called out.

"Morningstar, Lucifer"

There was complete silence. Maybe they something.

[Dumbledore's POV]

"Morningstar, Lucifer"

I heard this name and saw a boy with snow white and pale skin, red and lilac eyes and a strange white cat on his shoulder. I saw Severus looking at the boy with a serious look. Minerva told me about the morningstar couple's core seal. i looked the boy dusting the hat and stool and saw everyone was looking at his antics . He then proceeded to sit with his back facing me.

As soon as I sat on the stool, felt three sharp gazes. One was Uncle Snape and the other was Dumbledore. Professor McGonagall must have told him about my parents' seal. The third one was dark and sinister familiar aura like the seal on my parents. I ignored the first two gazes but couldn't ignore the third. I calmed down and professor placed the hat on my head. I acted like I was in pain and I really was. the third aura tried to penetrate my mind and look into my memories but the natural mind barrier protected so it gave up. Everyone looked at me as I was in pain but I soon calmed and laughed making others think like I was joking. The hat asked me,"What happened to you,kid?" "Only if you promise to take an oath not to tell anyone." He agreed and took an took while the others saw us talking but weren't able to listen. I showed him my memories of this life and did not reveal memories stating me being of another world. He was shocked to see such world shaking informations related to me. Specially my wands which are at least 2-3 times more powerful than the elder wand and the bloodline that can suppress a dragon. He was also shocked to know that I was the heir of Slytherin and was also related to the other founders. He knew which house to keep me in. He also found out from my memories that my mind was attacked when I put on the hat. It was something more sinister than Voldemort but I was fine because of my natural mind barrier.

He took some time to digest it and calmed himself and finally yelled," SLYTHERIN" I stopped Professor from removing the hat, I said to it,"I hope you keep your promise. But before I leave so you want to hear a joke?" "Sure" "What do you call a dog magician?" I asked. "Don't know, tell me"he said. I replied,"A Labracadabrador". He went quite for a second and started laughing and followed. The professors were amused to look at it. we bade our byes to each other and I said that we may meet each soon.

I got up the stool and saw Professor McGonagall had a disappointed expression because I did not get into her house but uncle Severus had a proud look cause he knew I had already completed the 1st 5 years courses and I may help achieve Slytherin points to win the house cup at the end.

I went to the Slytherin's table and was welcomed by the house captain and some others, including Daphne and Tracy. Some were interested why the hat laughed and Daphne peeked her ears . when I told them they chuckled while I heard Daphne's voice,"childish" I retorted but quieted down after seeing her glare. "Not fair.."i muttered but quickly shut up. She was proud in controlling me. Nobody except Daphne and Tracy knew I was 'muggle-born' and I will not tell them for time being. after the ceremony was over Dumbledore came to the podium and said,"Nitwik! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"

He continued telling us that it the places forbidden to visit, The Forbidden Forest and the third floor corridor. He waved his hand and different varieties of food appeared on the tables. After the banquet ended, we stood for the school song:

Hogwarts, Hogwarts,

Hoggy Warty Hogwarts

Teach us something, please,

Whether we be old and bald

Or young with scabby knees,

Our heads could do with filling

With some interesting stuff,

For now they're bare and full of air,

Dead flies and bits of fluff,

So teach us things worth knowing,

Bring back what we've forgot,

Just do your best, we'll do the rest,

And learn until our brains all rot.

The song finished with the Weasly twins finishing the last in a funeral twin. We were led into the our dorms. Byakko jumped on the bed and I saw Horus was waiting impatiently for me to open the cage. He was happy and flied around the room scaring my roommate, Theodore Nott. His father was a death eater but he did not wanted to follow his father's footsteps. We became quick friends though I told him I was ' muggle-born'. I opened the window and Horus flew out . I was sleepy, so I went to sleep to wake up to a my first day in Hogwarts .
