7 Chapter 7

It took us a little over two hours to buy every single item on the list. though of course, buying the best materials and books, and of course Hermione bought "Hogwarts: A History" saying she was exited to read it.

The clerk came up, "Is there anything else?"

"No that shall be all." I replied as I paid for the books.

"Thank you sir." The clerk smiled taking the coin.

The led the Grangers to the next shop. I lead the way into the cauldron shop, where Hermione and him got the pewter cauldron he was supposed to, the scales, and Dragonhide Gloves. He looked at the telescopes but remembered that Dudley had gotten a 114mm reflector telescope at the Grunning's employee picnic, he didn't care about it. Heck he's never even taken it from its box, and it's just been collecting dust. I had taken it along with many others things before burning the house down. So he just got the Stellar telescope for Hermione for 10 Galleons.

"If they needs protective gloves then why aren't there goggles as well?" Mrs. Granger asked. The shop keeper ignored her. I thought it a valid question and resolved to buy a pair for them.

Then we went to the apothecary, this was one of the stores that had one of those Potter signs that I found so annoying. I approached the shop owner and overheard him say to a customer who looked quite familiar.

"A Slytherin's first year kit. Here you go Mr. Malfoy. That will be six galleons."

The blond threw the money on the counter "Six Galleons, highway robbery if you ask me."

"Don't blame me, it's those extras the Professor wants his snakes to have."

The blond man brushed us as we walked towards the shop owner.

"What's the difference?" I asked. Hermione also looked interested. I didn't know that they sold them in my past life.

"Who are you?"

"I want to know the difference between the standard student kit and a Slytherin kit."

"Snape has three supplemental guides and a better quality and variety of tools in the Slytherin kit so his students can have a leg up. Oh and the vials are charmed unbreakable."

"What about the actual potion supplies?"

"Those are bought by the school and kept in a student supply cupboard. Part of your tuition.

"I want two of the Slytherin kit and you're going to give it to me for the price of a standard kit."

"Why should I do that, you brat?"

"Because I'm Harry Potter," I snapped as I briefly brushed my hair from my forehead. "and you've been using my name to promote your store without my permission. You co-operate and I'll keep my mouth shut. You don't, well it could be bad for business."

"You sound enough like a snake. I reckon old Severus won't be too happy, he hated your Dad, he did."

six galleons later we left the store. At the trunk store a similar thing happened. The shop owner fussed a bit more, before giving in and agreeing to sell any trunk to me at cost. I carefully examined all the trunks. I finally decided on a four compartment trunk with a magic signature lock and featherlight charms. Hermione got her's in the normal brown, while I got mine in black.

"Alright, the next is the owl!" Hermione exclaimed. She looked at her parents who were having a silent conversation. Mrs. Granger didn't like animals he knew.

She looked at her daughter's pleading brown eyes "You'll keep it and its things clean no smell and no noise and only in your room, understood?"

"Yes ma'am."

"And Hermione, no new book for your birthday this year."

Hermione nodded it was worth it. Twenty minutes later they left Eyelop's Owl Emporium. On Hermione's shoulder rested a snowy owl. Harry thought of buying Hedwig but thought it would be better if Hermione got her, ironically she had named her Hedwig as well.

I had bought a Gyrfalcon with the similar snowy coat as hedwig. I had decided to name her, Eira, meaning snow in Welsh.

"Alright the last item on the list is the wand." Hermonie said exitedly. "let's go to Ollivanders, It should be just around the corner."

"Actually, I am going to be taking you to a way better shop." It took me 20 years to learn that wands created by Ollivanders never held up, you were always exchanging your wand with one newer or better as the years went by. At age 45 I had meet an old woman named, Hegal who had owned a wand shop in Knuckturn Alley. And I had baught one wand from her and it lasted all my life, becoming stronger when I did.

As we approached Knuckturn Alley, I could see that the Grangers looked worried seeing so many people staring at them, but I reassured them with a confident smile. We soon came to small called. "Wynott's Wands."

Stepping into the dimly lit shop, the air crackled with anticipation as we were greeted by an woman with a mischievous twinkle in her eye.

"Welcome, young travelers," she spoke. "What brings you to my humble establishment?"

"Hello, again Hegal. I have brought you another customer."

The woman's laughter echoed through the room as she nodded in understanding. "Ah, Harry my boy. My best work ever on your wand." she mused. "Alright, so who is getting a wand?" She asked.

"Hermione here, will be the one getting her wand."

"Alright, come up here, child, don' be shy." Hegal motioned Hermione to the desk.

With a sense of excitement, Hermione stepped forward, her eyes alight with curiosity. The woman beckoned her closer, her gnarled fingers tracing the intricate patterns of the wand shelves that lined the walls.

"Choosing a wand is not just about the wand choosing you, my dear," the woman explained, her voice a soothing melody in the quiet shop. "It's about finding a connection, a resonance between you and the magic that flows within. yes a wand has to choose you but you must dominate the wand."

"What shall I do?" Hermione asked.

She took some measurements by casting a quick spell, then he lead Hermione to a bin of 2"x2"x 24'' inch pieces of wood. She cast another spell on Hermione. "Run your fingers across them if they feel warm pull them out. Hermione did as he was told. The piece she pulled was almost white. Hegal hummed in exitement.

The lady then pulled a trunk out. It opened and opened and opened. It was as tall as Hermione and fully opened it surrounded her. Hegal said "Close your eyes. Spin around three times. Take a deep breath and find your core. Then let it tell you what drawer to open. Take your time. You want to do this right."

Hermione did as she was told. A moment later she turned and pulled open a drawer. Then she opened his eyes. In the drawer was a feather. It was was long and silvery white and when he touched it it seemed to glitter iridescently.

Hegal looked really exited.

"What?" Hermione asked seeing her expresion

"That feather came from a mighty owl that resides up north, she is known as the keeper of knowledge. It has been a hundred years since someone last had a wand with her feather." Hegal closed the case of wand cores. and extended a potion "Dip your hands in this. Touch all these metals."

Hermione saw a rows of small ingots: gold, silver, bronze, copper, pewter and iron. The silver ingot in the third row glowed. The wand maker took it. "Peruvian silver. Now touch these." She handed Hermione some stones.

Hermione looked at them. They each had something Hermione did not recognize carved on them.

Seeing Harry's puzzled look, I replied, "Runes. You can study them in third year at Hogwarts."

Hermione touched the stones one by one, four of the runes glowed when she touched the stone. wisdom, strength, knowledge and power. A nice selection of runes. In my past I had only power and strength.

"Okay one last thing," the wand maker said. "I want you to to go to your meditative state again, a wand like the one I'll make you, requires a stone to balance the focus. Most wands don't require it, but most wands aren't elemental wands either." Seeing hermiones puzzled look she cackled." The white wood is elder it is almost never used for wands, owl feather wands are very rare enough I've only made a couple dozen in my life. But I have never before used Thang's feather." the wand maker pulled out a box of mixed gem stones and spread them on a cloth of velvet.

Mrs. Granger gasped there were several thousand pounds worth of gems there. Hermione meditated and two of the gems. A white jade and a rose agate. Hegal instantly got to work as she fused the items togeather as the wand started to transform and take shape.

A slender white wood wand, polished to a lustrous sheen, adorned with delicate carvings that wind like vines around its length. Its tip, tapered to a precise point. The handle of the wand was Botanical with rose white leaf vines.

"Alright child it is done." Hegal muttered as she softly grabed the wand and handed it to Hermione. She looked at it in amazement as the wand softly hummed as it glowed settling in Hermiones hand.

"It is so beautiful." Hermione muttered in shock as she turnedto me. "Earlier Hegal said your wand was her best work? When did you get it?"

"Oh your friend Harry had visited this morning. And don't worry girl your wand is my second best work, you are destined for greatness. I know it." Hegal laughed. "Go on boy show them the wand."

I roll my eyes as I flick my wrist as my wand shot out from it's secret holster into my hand. I raised it and showed it to them. "This is Medusa, she was made from Black Methuselah wood, Elder Wood, a Quetzalcoatl feather, Dragon heartstring, a Phoenix feather, and the venom of a Maledictus. Having a gold and silver fastning with Alexandrite, Tanzanite and Taaffeite gems.

My black wand, exuding an aura of regal authority with a latent danger. Its ebony surface was smooth yet held an ominous allure. Intricate runes, etched with precision, adorn its length, imbuing it with an air of ancient mystique. At its tip, a sharp point gleams with a subtle menace, the handle was a black corckscrew shape with golden bands giving it an overall edgy look.

"Why is your wand named after the gorgon?" Hermione asked. In responce I dropped my wand to the shock of everyone, but before it dropped to the groundblack smoke excaped from the wand as it coiled around me, the black smoke condessed as a beautiful black serpent took form, it's crimson red eyes glared down at Hermione, Hegal, and the Grangers, They four looked at the giant snake in horror.

"Because, my wand houses the spirit of a basilisk spirit. Don't worry you won't be petrified unless I order her to do so." I responded as I scratched Medusa's scales causing her to hiss in pleasure as she wagged her tail. "She is quite harmless.... to those I trust."
