47 Chapter 47: Mishap and Harry's Balloon

Extra Chapter~

"The Quaffle was immediately seized by Gryffindor's Angelina Johnson—what an excellent chaser she is, and quite charming too—"

"Jordan!"

"Sorry, Professor."

Lee Jordan, a friend of the Weasley twins, was serving as the commentator for the match under Professor McGonagall's close supervision.

The match started quite intensely—of course, that was how it appeared to everyone except Alaric. Gryffindor scored at the beginning, with Angelina Johnson making the goal, while Harry Potter patrolled high above, searching for the Golden Snitch.

Soon, he spotted it. A streak of gold flew past Adrian Pucey's left ear, causing him to miss the Quaffle.

Harry, excited, chased after it. However, Slytherin's Seeker, Harper, also spotted the Snitch, and the two flew side by side in pursuit.

The chasers seemed to forget their roles as they hovered in the air, watching each other.

Harry was faster than Harper, but his opponent had other assistance—Marcus Flint deliberately collided with Harry, causing his broomstick to veer off course. However, Harry held onto it tightly.

"Foul!" Gryffindor supporters shouted.

Madam Hooch angrily scolded Flint, then ordered Gryffindor to take a free shot at the goalposts. However, in the chaos, the Golden Snitch disappeared from sight again.

The match resumed, and Harry resumed his search for the Golden Snitch. However, just as he dodged another Bludger spinning dangerously close to his scalp, something unexpected happened.

His broomstick suddenly jerked frighteningly.

For a moment, he thought he was about to fall. He gripped the broomstick handle with both hands and clamped it between his knees.

Harry tried to turn toward Gryffindor's goalposts, intending to signal Wood to pause the match—then he realized he had lost control of his broomstick.

He couldn't make it turn; he couldn't command it.

The broomstick careened wildly through the air, violently shaking and swaying, almost tossing him off.

This time, Slytherin scored, and the Slytherins cheered.

It seemed like nobody noticed that Harry's broomstick was behaving strangely.

The broomstick continued its frantic jerking and twisting, slowly lifting Harry higher and farther from the pitch.

But soon, everyone in the stands noticed Harry. His broomstick began to somersault and spin uncontrollably, and Harry could barely hold on.

Suddenly, the broomstick jerked again, and Harry was flung off. He now clung to the broomstick handle with only one hand, dangling in midair.

He was on the verge of falling.

"Harry's broom is having trouble!" someone shouted.

Ron used his telescope to look at the opposite stands, then panickedly told Hagrid beside him, "I knew it! Snape's up to something."

Snape stood in the middle of the stands on the opposite side, his eyes fixed on Harry as he silently muttered something.

"He's up to no good—casting curses on the broom," Ron yelled, then ran towards Snape.

From the Ravenclaw stands, Hermione also noticed that something was wrong.

"Alaric, can you do something to save him?" she tugged at Alaric's robe.

Alaric nodded and pulled out his wand, pointing it at Harry's broomstick.

The next moment, the Nimbus 2000, while still shaking violently, no longer flew around randomly, as if two people were playing tug of war with it.

But Harry could finally steady himself. He struggled to climb back onto the broomstick.

"Someone is cursing the broomsticks," Alaric said as he controlled the broomstick with his wand. "I can feel it. Besides me, there are at least two others doing this. I'm sure one wants to harm Harry, while the other is protecting him."

"I'll check who it is." Hermione took the telescope from Cho Chang and observed the opposite stands.

Suddenly, she exclaimed. An accident occurred on the Slytherin stands. Snape, who was muttering incantations, was suddenly pushed by Ron, falling onto the nearby Slytherins. The Slytherin stands erupted into chaos.

The spell from Snape was interrupted, and the balance that Harry's broomstick maintained was broken.

The broomstick immediately went out of control, and Harry had to watch helplessly as it carried him into a dive towards the ground.

"Absolutely hopeless, only one option left." Alaric shook his head in resignation, but a smirk appeared on his face.

"Inflatus!"

He muttered another spell, and in an instant, Harry's body expanded, turning into a giant balloon.

His size increased several times, causing his clothes to burst at the seams. Transformed into a balloon, Harry crashed into the ground, but the result was that he was bounced back into the air by the impact, unharmed.

However, after a gust of wind, he began to drift away, looking as if he was going to be blown away by the wind.

As for his Nimbus 2000, it had already flown into the forest due to inertia.
