15 Transfiguration

Virgil and his group left the Slytherin common room to go to their next class. Henry had an embarrassed look on his face and Dalilah was still glaring at him.

The six soon arrived at the transfiguration classroom on the first floor. Unlike the charms class, this classroom was arranged with rows of desks. If not for the stone walls and chandeliers it would look like a normal muggle class.

The students were required to sit in pairs in this class and everyone started to move. Virgil sat next to Rabastan and Severus next to Shane.

This forced Henry to sit next to one of Dalilah's followers who ignored him. The more alienated he was, the more upset he became. His body started fidgeting and he had nowhere to release his energy.

He knew he couldn't turn his anger toward his fellow housemates. Their status was equal to or greater than his and he couldn't afford it. His venomous eyes turned to the muggle-born students from Hufflepuff.

Henry didn't know any spells, so the moment a student walked toward his desk he stuck out his foot.

The muggle-born boy staggered when he hit Henry's foot and Henry's eyes lit up. "You stepped on my foot!"

Henry pushed the boy who was already off balance and the boy crashed to the ground. "Ahck!"

The boy slammed to the ground with a loud thump and drew everyone's eyes.

"John!" Most of the Hufflepuff students weren't that close on the first day at school. Only his other four roommates who entered the class together were taken aback.

"Why did you push John down!" One of the boys stormed over with a look of anger while the others helped John up.

"So what if I pushed him down? He stepped on my shoes, does he even have any money to pay for them? Do you know how much they cost me?!" Henry sat back with a smug smile and felt his depression fade away.

When the boy heard Henry talk about money he flinched. He knew how valuable money was in the wizarding world and he had none.

"Don't listen to him, he stuck his foot out!" John got up from the ground and surrounded Henry with his roommates.

Virgil showed a thoughtful look when he saw this. His finger twitched and he cast a confusion charm on Henry.

Henry's eyes changed and he snapped to his feet. Before anyone knew what was going on, Henry had already thrown a punch.

Henry's fist hit John square in the nose. His head rocked back and blood bloomed.

"Fuckem!" One of the Hufflepuff boys yelled and all four started raining down fists on Henry.

"Ahhhh!" The girl sitting next to Henry shrieked when Henry fell on the desk trying to protect his head.

"Henry!" Avery and Severus stood up and tried to pull the boys off Henry.

"What is going on here! Stop what you're doing right this instant!" Professor Mcgonagall walked in with a livid face full of anger. "Never in my life have I seen such barbaric behavior!"

The fight stopped when Professor McGonagall walked in and the boys stood on opposite sides. "What is going on here!"

"He tripped me and pushed me down! When I confronted him about it he punched me in the face!" John held his bloody nose with one hand and pointed toward Henry with the other.

"Lies!" Henry's face was a bit swollen and one eye was half closed. "He stepped on my foot and got angry when I asked for money! He got his friends to attack me by surprise when he couldn't pay!"

"Enough from the both of you! Slytherin and Hufflepuff minus twenty points, the six of you to my office every night for a week's detention! You two follow me to the infirmary, any more disturbances will be greeted with a suspension!"

Professor Mcgonagall grabbed the two boys and led them out of the class.

Virgil's eyes flashed and he turned his head away. He had to hold himself back from sneering. Professor McGonagall's treatment seemed fair but It was five versus one. Henry received the same punishment as five other people combined.

While he doesn't care about house points, this showed the staff's bias against Slytherin.

"I didn't think Henry had it in him, I thought he was all talk." Rabastan watched as the Hufflepuff students who hit Henry sat down with proud faces.

"Are you going to get revenge?" Virgil followed his eyes and raised his brows.

"I don't like Henry very much, but he's Slytherin anyway." Rabastan shook his head. "I won't resort to muggle violence and the school year is still long."

Not long after, Professor Mcgonagall walked back into the room with a face as hard as stone. Her boots clicked on the floor with every step until she arrived at the front of the class and turned around.

"I don't want to see any wands today, transfiguration is not a class for you to play around. If any of you want to act like heathens you can leave class now." Her eyes scanned the room and everyone was quiet.

She turned around and started writing on the board. "Open your book to page eleven and copy all the contents to page twenty-five."

Virgil opened his book and started copying. Rabastan next to him was far less calm about the matter.

If he added a bit more strength he would snap the quill in his hand.

The sound of writing was the only sound in the class and time soon passed. "For homework, continue to copy from page twenty-six to fifty."

Just when everyone thought their pain was over, Professor Mcgonagall's voice sounded like a demon.

"Uhhh." Everyone's shoulders dropped as they left the room.

"Let's go back to the common room, our last class is in the evening." Shane shook his right hand to get rid of the fatigue.

Virgil waved his hand and started walking away. "You guys go, I'm going to the library."

"Library, are you still going to bury your head in books here too?" Dalilah scoffed at Virgil's back.

Virgil climbed the stairs and soon reached the fourth floor. The moving staircases didn't bother him, they just moved you to different areas of the floor you're going to. An annoyance once the novelty passed.

When he arrived at the Library he was greeted by the smell of ink and parchment that reminded him of home. The librarian was a proper-looking woman with dark black hair tied up in a typical librarian bun.

She glanced at Virgil and recognized him as a new student. Coming to the library on the first day was a rarity

Virgil walked into the library and saw shelves of books. He walked between the rows and saw the books were in no particular order and placed randomly.

His eyes turned toward the banned book section that was chained off and had a plan in mind.

He continued to walk around the library and mapped it out in his head. This was going to be the nexus point for him on the fourth floor to make things easier for him.

After walking around once, he grabbed an old-looking book on alchemy and sat at a table. Books on alchemy were something he didn't have at home.

While Hogwarts didn't have an alchemy class, they still had books.

He carefully opened the book and saw a table of elements. Their properties were listed and how they reacted with other substances.

Engrossed in the book, he didn't notice when Kiara arrived at his table and sat down with a book.

Virgil raised his eyes and saw Kiara looking at him with a smile. "How were your classes today?"

He didn't ask why she was here and how she found him, that would be stupid.

"We had Herbology and Defense Against the Dark Arts, the DADA teacher seems capable." Kiara brushed her hair behind her ear and opened her book.

"How're your efforts in corruption going?" Virgil's eyes turned back to his book and continued to read.

"James and his cronies are already acting like a fool to draw attention. Keeping Lily from being interested is a difficult task." Kiara shook her head and sighed.

"That girl likes to act innocent but she's quite manipulative and cunning."

Virgil paused; He couldn't help looking up with a look of embarrassment. "Are you the one to be saying that?"

Kiara rolled her eyes. "She likes to put herself in a low position to draw the sympathy and care of others. This makes her the center of attention like a helpless kitten. Being with James can elevate her vanity and status."

"She's already realized being of low birth in the magical world is a detriment to her future."

Virgil showed a thoughtful look. All he knew about Lily was that she was a good mother. Her love saved Harry over and over again, but if one looked further she was also a bad sister.

Petunia looked like a Villain from Harry's point of view, but how bad would a relationship have to deteriorate to treat a child that way?

Virgil tapped his finger on the desk and analyzed.

"If she is as vain as you say, your task will be difficult. The Potters are very rich and well respected. If I'm not mistaken, Lily and James got together a bit after his parents died."

Kiara nodded and sighed. "It seems like stopping them from getting together is difficult."

Her eyes flashed and the corners of her lips curled. "If that's the case, I'll have to use plan B. I liked this plan more anyway, infidelity will cut far deeper. How will Snape react when he realizes he sent his boss after his own child? What if he doesn't even know?"

Kiara tilted her head to the side and squinted her eyes with a devilish smile.
