Chapter 103: The Secret behind the Prowler's Map

Harry, Ron and Hermione looked confused, they had no idea what Snape was talking about.

Lupin seemed to be the same, but Ivan noticed a slight change in the corner of his eye.

"Do you mean Mr. Wormtail or one of these people?", Lupin turned and said softly, "Harry, do you know any of these men?"

"No," Harry said quickly.

"You see, Severus? He looks to me like a product of Zonko's Joke Shop." Lupin turned to Snape.

"It's us!" Fred and George rushed through the crowd. They explained to Lupin and Snape. "We bought this Scroll a few years ago at Zonko's Joke Shop. We just gave it to Harry."

"All right, it's all cleared up then!" Professor Lupin said cheerfully, "Harry didn't violate the school rules. In my opinion, he just showed this joke scroll to his friends, and he didn't want the professor to know about it..."

"Lupin!" Snape stepped forward and whispered. "Don't play dumb. You and I both know what this parchment is."

"Yes, obviously, I just said that this is a product of mischief. Anyone who wants to read it will be insulted." Professor Lupin blinked.

"Not this, I've seen it before...," Snape stopped abruptly, glaring angrily at an innocent-looking Lupin.

Although he had seen this scroll more than once in James Potter's hands when they were students, he really didn't know what this scroll was, or what it was for. Its four makers made sure it was kept secret.

Since Lupin doesn't want to talk about it, there was no point in continuing the confrontation, and Snape didn't want to discuss his student past in front of the students.

"Very good, very good, Lupin!" Snape returned to his usual nasty tone of voice and sneered, "I suddenly remembered that tonight there was a full moon and I hope you're home alone. Don't forget to lock the door! By the way, I'll send you your medicine, and we can have a nice chat about this parchment."

Snape looked at Lupin with a mischievous look, he deliberately accentuated the words dusk, full moon and closed door, as if he wanted to give some sort of hint.

"No problem, my door is open to you at any time, Severus!" Professor Lupin said briskly. "And thank you for your potion."

"You're welcome." Snape's face was not smiling; he looked fiercely at Lupin, Harry, and Ivan, and continued, blinking, "I made a full pot, if you still want more, just tell me."

"I started taking it a week ago, and a little more this afternoon should be enough." Professor Lupin turned to look at Ivan and the rest of his group. "Harry, Ivan, Ron, Hermione, come with me, I have something to tell you about the homework I ordered..."

Professor Lupin took two steps forward and seemed to think of something. "Severus, I'll take this from you, don't you mind!"

Snape said nothing, but from the grim expression on his face, it was clear that he did mind.

Lupin pretended not to see Snape's expression. He quickly walked over and grabbed the map, folded it and tucked it inside his robes.

Ivan and the three of them walked behind Professor Lupin and out of the Great Dining Hall. None of them dared to look back at Snape.

Only when they reached the foyer did they dare to speak.

"Professor, we..." Harry said quickly, apparently, seeming to want to get the Marauder's Map.

"I don't want to hear explanations, Harry!" Lupin looked around the empty hall. Other students were still behind in the large Dining Hall. There were no other people besides them. He said quietly, "In fact, I just found out that this map was confiscated many years ago by Mr. Filch, I know this parchment."

Harry and Hermione looked at it with great interest. Ron looked down and wondered what he was thinking, and Ivan couldn't help but bury his head in his arms.

Professor Lupin not only knew about the map, he was one of its creators.

Harry's luck was terrible. He was useless once it was delivered. Professor Lupin would never give the map back to Harry.

"I don't want to know how you got it. To my surprise, you didn't plan on turning it in, especially with Sirius hanging around the castle!" Lupin turned to Hermione. "What you did was wrong, Hermione. I thought that unlike them, you would be more sensible."

"Don't blame Hermione. She told me to turn him in." Harry replied, then asked curiously. "Professor, how do you know this map?"

"This is not something you should know, Harry." On Lupin's face, it was clear that he didn't want to say anything more on this subject.

"Well, then, why did Snape think he got it from its creator?" Harry continued to ask.

"That was because..." Lupin hesitated. "Because the person who made the map might have wanted to seduce you out of school, they would think it would be funny."

"Lunatic, Antler, Canute, and Wormtail?" interrupted Ivan.

It turned out that after the four graduated, this map fell into Filch's hands. This was the reason it was kept within the perimeters of the school.

This makes it seem like James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and Professor Lupin in their school days must have been as mischievous as Fred and Goerge are now, which also makes Filch feel a headache.

"Yes, that's them." Lupin nodded.

"Professor, do you know them?" asked Harry, with a look of urgency.

"We've met before." Lupin replied briefly and looked at Harry more seriously than usual.

"Wait a minute, Professor, about this map?" asked Ivan hurriedly. "If you know, then you must know how it was made?"

Lupin froze for a moment and asked, "Oh, it requires a very deep knowledge of magic, it's not appropriate for your age..."

"Professor, I don't want to know the specific way to make this map." Ivan continued, "Just tell me how those four accomplished it. I think they needed a large source of mana."

Professor Lupin looked at Ivan in amazement. Harry, Ron and Hermione also looked at him in surprise, wondering why Ivan suddenly asked that question.
