66 Chapter 66

As the conversation ended, the three of us headed back out of Dumbledore's office, leaving him alone to his thoughts.

As we are headed back, they both silently try to process the new side of Dumbledore that they have just come to know. As they do that I too go over the implications of what just happened.  Harry being vital to his plans and McGonagall being the deputy headmistress(and the one who actually did Dumbledore's work and took care of administrative duties so he can go screw over people as chief warlock and Supreme Mugwamp) Dumbledore has to find a way to get back in there good graces. Depending on how desperate he is, he might just decide to ambush us and erase our memories. Hack it's what I would've done as it's going to be a lot of work after all the revelations they both had about him after this conversation. While both Harry and McGonagall will be easy targets for him, he knows he won't be able to overcome me a straight battle. Although I am magically stronger than him with ample knowledge, I can't forget that he has experience on his side not to mention he also have the death stick. Not only that as the headmaster he also has his spy network inside hogwarts as various portraits and ghosts. Hack it would be easy enough for him to have hogwarts house-elves slip some potions in our meals.

No, I can't underestimate him and I am not going to let my guard down for the rest of the year that I am in hogwarts. And just to be sure, I am going to save the memory of the conversation in a vial and owl it to Gringotts to keep it safe in my vault, just to be safe. While I am a master occlumans, I can't afford to underestimate someone of his caliber, not to mention the fact that I am in Hogwarts for the rest of the year, which is his domain in all but name. Hmm... Now that I think about it, Umbridge forced him to leave due to that DA stuff. But since students are getting better DADA education than before due to me, they don't need to form DA this time around. No, I can't think like that, Dumbledore needs to leave for my peace of mind for the rest of the year.

What use would I have for getting Umbridge here if I can't make that happen? Yes, I think it would be for the greater good to have Umbridge kick Snape out of here. This way students can still form their little group and Dumbledore still gets the boot. Not to mention getting Dumbledore's pet death eater spy out of here would be better for everyone, especially me. Can't rule out Dumbledore having Snape ambush me after all, no matter how unlikely he is to succeed. Still, no such thing as too careful when magic is involved. Think a few carefully planted suggestions in Umbridge's mind via legilimency would see to it. After all, can't leave the greater good to chance.

As they are leaving, reminded Harry, "Harry I think it would be better for you to get some rest and clear your head. I have no doubt you are exhausted after your magical burst in there. Come to my office tomorrow after classes and I will write you the prescription for the potions for your malnutrition and do some spells to make sure the soul shard is contained properly."

He of course agreed with me and was visibly exhausted after what he's been through in Dumbledore's office.

I bid them both farewell and went back to my office. Today has been very beneficial for me as not only did I set a favorable impression on future Wizarding hero but more importantly the future Headmistress of Hogwarts. McGonagall's importance as future Headmistress can't be taken lightly as Hogwarts is the only magical school in Britain. Sure, if I try I can easily become the headmaster myself when Dumbledore kicks the bucket next year. I seriously doubt anyone will be opposed to it, not when I prove my strength in front of everyone when I beat Voldemort inside ministry later this year. Till now only a few influential people knew my strength(that I let them see of course) but to everyone else, I am just a genius with many newts and masters.

They still think that only Dumbledore is strong enough to oppose Voldemort and protect them. But after this year, I will be able to solidify my image as the next magical titans like Dumbledore and Voldemort. So, becoming the next headmaster will be easy enough but that isn't something that I want. No, I didn't try so hard to become so powerful and influential just to spend my days cooped up in this castle with a bunch of snot-nosed brats. No, I won't take any influential positions like Headmaster of Hogwarts or Minister of Magic. I will be the one who controls the people in these positions without them even realizing it. I will just leave the boring and tedious work that comes with the job to them and just nudge them from behind in the direction I want them to take. This way I will be free to enjoy my life and leisurely delve deeper into the mysteries that magic hold.
