Saving Astoria Part 2

"You're going to do what!? Lord Greengrass exclaimed, while Lady Greengrass paled in horror.

"Indeed. Why is there a problem?" Nova asked, quite puzzled.

"Your killing my little girl! Of course there is a problem!" Lady Greengrass shrieked.

"Well she's not going to stay dead you know. I am going to wrap her in the death shrouds then throw her in the cauldron and cook her with the phoenix ashes. Really it's quite simple. Mortals really do overreact over simple things."

"Simple things? Killing and resurrecting someone? A simple thing, you make it sound like your a god." Lord Greengrass said sourly.

"Well yeah. I am, otherwise your daughter would stay dead. Now let us get started it is just about late enough." Nova said walking out the foyer, leaving the lord and lady sitting there.

As they scrambled to bring themselves together, Nova pulled out the material and laid it out in front of him. When he finished Daphne and Astoria walked out of the house in a simple set of robes.

"Good you are here. Now while I setup some runes, Daphne help your sister strip down, clothing is unneeded." Nova said and flew up into the air, not giving the sisters time to make a rebuttal.

In the air, Nova pulled and gathered storm clouds and generated lightning for him to draw with, as each bolt struck the ground he directed the flames to carve runes involving life and rebirth tying it all with a soul rune on the cauldron. When he finished he dispelled all the clouds making it a clear night once more.

He then landed next to the girls, only to find Daphne glaring at him, while Astoria tried to cover up and mumble something about not being able to get married now. Strange mortals are.

"You know you are going to have to take responsibility for this now." Daphne said.

"How so?" Nova said.

"Nevermind. How can you be . . . sigh. What next?" Daphne asked.

"Nothing you can go by your family. Astoria are you ready?" Nova asked.

The little girl nodded her head.

"Good." Nova then thrust his hand forward and ripped out her heart. As the little girl, crumpled to the ground, her mother promptly passed out.

Seeing this Nova just shook his head, and proceeded to continue.

"By this death, I offer the reborn phoenix the heart. So that the blood can be reborn." The phoenix ashes then rose up from the container and filled in the open chest cavity as the heart in Nova's hand burst into flames, which he then shoved back into the body.

"To preserve the soul, the shrouds of Death to keep the Light contained." The dementor's cloak then flew up and started to wrap and encase the girl's body.

"Life and Death are now in Balance, may the body and soul be made one as they burn in the Flames of Rebirth."

Nova then swept his hands, and Astoria's body lowered into the cauldron below, as it burst into flames. While the cauldron and it's contents burned the runes around all began to light up and flash in patterns, until they were all lit.

At this point in time, Nova turned around and saw Lord Greengrass looked ready to pass out as well but kept a strong face on, Daphne was holding her mother, while fanning her face.

"As the World strikes, Let the 12 Gates be opened and the Vessel be Reborn." This time when Nova spoke his voice echo'd with the Will of the World.

"1… 2 … 3 … 4 … 5 … 6 … 7 … 8 … 9 … 10 … 11 … 12. . ." With each call of the number the flames thrummed and as the last number left his lips, the flames flashed day into the night. Then they disappeared just as fast. In their place was the child, Astoria floating in the air as if she was sleeping.

Nova then waved his hand and a bed materialized beneath her as she lowered into it. He then turned to the family, "It is finished. Now we let her rest."
