150 Preparing

Hogwarts, The Black Lake, January 14th

"Nathan found out what the egg meant a few days ago and I was wondering if we should all try to brainstorm some solution to whatever the task is? Actually, what are you doing to prepare for the second task, Nathan? And know that I'm thinking about it you never told us what you had to do, did you?" Hermione asked, trying to break the tension.

The four - Nathan, Ron, Calypso and Harry - were all waiting for Viktor to finish his swim before heading to Hogsmeade. However, with Harry's and Ron's dislike of each other and the fact that Hermione had an argument with Calypso over house elves and giants there was not much to talk about without causing another fight.

"Uh, of course, just a couple small little things left" Nathan said, trying to contain the unevenness of his voice and hope Hermione wouldn't ask any more questions.

But his brother alway did know when he was lying anyway, "You already figured it out. Good on you Nathan, do you need any help?" Harry asked.

"Oi, Nathan just said he has it under control, so just let the guy rest, he still got five weeks left anyway" Ron shouted. After the two made up he had been trying to make it up to Nathan for ignoring him by always taking his side of things.

"Well, be that as it may it still is good to be prepared. We don't want Nathan to get hurt after all" Calypso remarked rather boredly, both she and Harry knew what the clue was and had already helped Krum make his plan and as a Legilimens it was easy to see that Nathan didn't know what the egg held.

"It's fine Ron, you guys should go ahead, me and Harry we have a quick look for some spells and meet you at The Three Broomsticks for lunch" Nathan cut in, hoping to end the discussion before an argument occurred.

"I'll go ask Kira if she wants to come and then we can go," Viktor said walking out of the water, having just finished his workout.

"Are you sure? She hasn't exactly been very friendly recently" Harry asked.

It was a valid question. After the ball and Viktor going off to dance with Hermione, she refused to speak to him for days unless she was hurling curse after curse at Viktor, until he - usually - disarmed her but then she would just yell at him. All in all Viktor had an uphill battle that Harry was confused why he would even try, not that he would tell Viktor that… that was Calypso's job.

"Come on Harry, if Krum wants to get cursed there's no reason for us to stop him" Calypso said, causing Viktor to grunt and head off on his own the ship. Things were also tense between Viktor and her as well because of Calypso's commentary on Viktor's relationship.

As the remaining five got up to leave Harry and Nathan split up with the others. Once they were far enough away Harry said to Nathan"You have no idea what the egg says, right?"

"Yeah.." Nathan said sheepishly "But I do have a lead, the other day Cedric told me to take the egg with me to the perfect bathro-"

Harry cut off Nathan before he was traumatized by whatever Cedric Diggory told his brother to do in a bathroom by saying, "It's fine. I already know what the clue is, let's go to the library and I'll tell you on the way."

"Alright! I really didn't want to do what Cedric said to do" Nathan said, oblivious to Harry's amusement. At least he was until Harry could help himself and started laughing.

"What? Why are you laughing?"
