3 A brave new world!

{4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey}

{10:23 A.M, 1 August 1991}

'Now the question is what the fuck is Sir Alex Furgeson doing in my bedroom...' Alex thought as he stared at the three people in confusion.

They looked like they were waiting for a response so Alex stood up and asked, "Sir Alex?"

"Sir Alex? No kid, I'm just Alex Furgeson, current Manager for Manchester United. I hear we share the same first name from our scout." Furgeson spoke as he examined the boy in front of him, his eyes looked at the posters of United legends on the walls.

'This should be easy. According to the scouts, his reflexes are almost unnaturally fast. He's still too young to have any expectations short term but he could be a potential gem if nurtured properly,' Furegson thought. Normally he would not make a house call for a kid who's barely out of the wet sheets.

But he owed Jim Ryan a favor for taking over the job of youth Manager. Why Jim wasted his favor on a goalkeeper candidate was beyond him. Plus this was an opportunity to steal him away from the gunners, their youth program director had been in contact with the Dursleys which was the reason for Jim's anxiousness.

Normally Alex would have been star-struck, buzzing at the chance to get an autograph from a living legend. But he was unnaturally calm at the moment, he was still a little immersed in this new world of Harry Potter, and to be honest, the British manager in front of him was breaking his immersion.

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Furgeson," Alex spoke, he wanted to get out of this situation, but suddenly, as if decreed by God himself he heard the front bell ringing.

~Ding Dong~

He glanced at his Aunt and Uncle who both shared a look, suppressing her excitement Petunia spoke, "Excuse me" and she walked out of the room.

Alex started at Furgeson for a moment, although it was bizarre he a needed moment to get used to this situation.

'How do you tell the manager of Man United, who clearly is here because the Alex Potter of this world, before he took over, was interested in being a footballer, that you don't want to be a footballer anymore? That magic was far more interesting... although being a professional footballer won't be bad.' Alex's thoughts were going a mile a minute but luckily he didn't have to do anything.

"...Lily!" Petunia's screech/shout came from downstairs and although Furgeson ignored it, both Alex and Vernon noticed it immediately. Alex saw the panic on Vernon's face, it was a little delayed but after a few seconds when Vernon realized who was at the door, he turned around and walked out of the door.

'The Potters are alive?' Alex's thoughts boggled again.

'Right I remember I'm the twin to the Boy who lived, wait this isn't one of those neglect stories right,' Alex thought. He looked down at his body focusing on seeing if everything was okay. After a moment, while he realized that there were no signs of physical abuse on his body, the situation downstairs had accelerated.

"...told Alex that you are dead, wait who are you?"

"Where is he Petunia?"

"THIS IS MY HOUS-" Vernon's scream was clearly silenced unnaturally by a silencing spell, after a few moments and followed by rapid thuds the door opened once again.

Lily Potter was the first one who burst through the door, her eyes instantly latched onto Alex. He looked like a spitting image of a younger James, but she could see his piercing green eyes scanning her. All thoughts froze as she stared into his eyes, it was as if she was looking into a mirror.

The same shade of sparkling green eyes... Alex held her gaze for a moment and when she took a step forward, the urge to hug her son overcame her, but she stopped when she noticed that he took a step back.

From the corner of his eyes, he noticed Furgeson walking away, a dazed look in his eyes. He looked up and saw Albus flicking his wand away.

The uncertainty in Alex's eyes was quite clear and she could see that he was already scanning James and Albus behind her. Minerva and Sirius were downstairs making sure that Petunia and Vernon didn't interfere in this conversation.

"Alex," Lily spoke, her voice was soft as she kept herself rooted on the spot.

Alex meanwhile was on an entirely different train of thought. Even if the green eyes and red hair didn't tell him who she was, the name hovering above her gave it away.

...

[Lily Potter Lv - 53]

[James Potter Lv - 57]

[Albus Dumbledore Lv - 93]

...

Alex gulped as he saw Dumbledore's level, he wasn't aware of what those levels represented and what the level limit was, but level 93 should be one of the highest he would come across.

'Voldemort should be there in Hogwarts in wraith form too right, that would be a fair comparison right...' Alex thought when a screen appeared in front of him. The screen was transparent not blocking his view but the information it had on it was clear as day.

...

[Gamer's Mind Activated, resisted Level 3 Legilimency probe]

...

Albus stumbled as his Legilimency probe was broken through, aside from the fact that he now had a migraine as his vision spun for a second. The problem was the way Alex's eyes narrowed as they zeroed in on him. He could see that he was taking a defensive stance and the already complex encounter became a lot more difficult because of him.

'A natural Occlumens...' Albus thought as he lifted his wand up to appear harmless. He was hoping his image would work out for him but the way in which Alex's eyes were trained on his wand he realized that Alex was able to see through his ruse.

"Alex, Alex?" Lily spoke as she tried to get Alex's attention, the whole situation seemed sort of wrong.

"Alright," Alex spoke softly, he looked at everyone once and spoke, "I don't know who you are, but even I can see the resemblance. So that begs the question, why do I not know who you are?"

'He's smart and calm...' Albus thought, the image of an 11-year-old Tom Riddle came to his mind and he quickly suppressed that thought with occlumency.

Lily was stifled by Alex's question and James took a step forward in an attempt to connect with Alex. He could see that his son was calm, he was a lot similar to Harry in that regard so he decided to go with the brutal truth.

"My name is James Charlus Potter, I'm your Father. This is your Mother, Lily Potter (née Evans)... When you were 1 year old you suffered an accident which led to your magical core being damaged. According to the magical doctors your body had severe allergic reactions to mana-rich environments and even simple magic done around you could be harmful to you." James spoke, his calm tone had managed to control the situation. He had been an auror for more than a decade now so he was familiar with panic-laced situations.

At this moment Dumbledore decided to help explain, "I'm Prof. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. I'm quite familiar with a lot of subjects that are magical in nature."

He lifted his wand up and continued, "Each Wizard and Witch has a magical core in his body. This core stores an energy called mana which we could shape into the form of various spells with the help of a wand to perform spells."

Dumbledore pointed his wand at a nearby stool and it transformed into a cat.

"Meow~" The cat jumped up onto the table as it looked at him leaving Alex speechless. The transition between the stool to the cat was so smooth that it left him in disbelief.

"That was a transfiguration spell, transfiguration is a branch of magic that allows you to change one thing into another," Albus spoke. He was waiting for Alex to respond but the fact that he could use these spells around Alex was all the proof he needed.

Lily cried when she saw Alex extend a hand to touch the cat. Alex marveled at how soft the fur of the cat was as he asked, "So you want to check my core and see if I'm functional now and could be a wizard?"

Albus didn't like how Alex framed that question but these misunderstandings could be cleared later, right now he wanted to test his core. Seeing Dumbledore nod, Alex extended his hand toward him.

"Μάνα δίκτυο σάρωση~" intoned as he waved his wand in complex magical circles. A wave of blue light shot from his wand and went into Alex's body.

'Status' Alex thought, he trusted Dumbledore to not curse him since both Lily and James were here, the emotions in their eyes couldn't be faked, but just to be safe he opened his stats to see if something was wrong with him.

A blue screen appeared in front of him, and the info it contained surprised Alex. At the same time, the info was imprinted into his brain as soon as he read the first word.
