9 The Feast and My crisis

I put down the talking hat reluctantly and walked towards the Ravenclaw table, sitting beside Daphne. Dumbledore got everyone's attention and said, "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! 'Thank you!'"

I didn't listen to him; my mind was going through various stuff like, 'WHAT IN THE HELL is going on with this hat? It's like it left me with just questions, and here I thought I would just act as the top student and let MR.POTHA deal with everything.' My thoughts were interrupted by Daphne asking, "What happened? You alright? You seem very distressed." To that, I passed along my chocolate pudding to her and said, "Nothing. Here's your chocolate pudding. Come, eat it." I also noticed our classmates were very hesitant to talk to us, so I introduced, "Hello, everyone. My name is Solaris Eldervale, but you guys can call me Sol, and this here is Daphne Greengass." They all collectively looked at Daphne for a sec, and every one of them thought, 'She is really focused on the pudding.' Their thinking was right; this is one of Daphne's hacks I discovered. If you give her chocolate pudding, she will stop asking questions and, for some reason, just focus on the pudding. I use it whenever I don't want her to ask any questions or just want to distract her for a bit, and I have Lammy ready with the stock of her favorite pudding on standby.

"I guess I will go first. I am Anthony Goldstein." Seeing him, everyone started to introduce themselves. Next was Su Li, Michael Corner, Terry Boot introducing themselves. Padma Patil introduced herself, to which Kevin immediately asked, "You have a twin in Gryffindor?" To which Padma responded, "Yes, her name is Parvati Patil." "Ah, sorry. My name is Kevin Entwhistle, and sorry when entering, I got confused. I saw one of you walking in front of me and saw her get sorted. Then next I look to my side, you were standing and got sorted, and I was, well, I didn't know what was going on and got very confused." All of the boys looked at him and thought, 'Either he has a very short attention span or a very bad attempt at flirting and having a conversation with a girl.' I can hear them because of passive Legilimancy, and he looks at us and says, "Yes, I have a very short attention span." To that, Terry motioned how he said, "I have seen that look multiple times." To that, we all nodded, and then Terry Boot and Stephen Cornfoot and the rest of the girls introduced themselves. Mandy Brocklehurst and Lisa Turpin then we all look at the last girl, and she goes, "Sorry, Morag Macdougal." She is very pretty; I mean, she can give even Daphne a run for her money. I also notice she seems very blank. Like everybody has a different type of feel around them, and my mage sight can see the color of different spectrums. I can't explain properly, like I can have different modes to my mage sight, and this is one of them that shows their own feel. Daphne has a neon green kind of aura color, while I have a golden aura. Surprisingly, Harry has a golden aura with red pigments, and Dumbledore has a pure white and silver aura. So, everybody has some aura color, but she doesn't have anything. Daphne: {Why do you keep looking at her?}

Solaris: {Her aura is completely transparent. It shouldn't be possible. Like every human or creature that is born, be it magical or not, should have some aura color, and her magic reserves are huge. They are even larger than mine, almost close to Dumbledore's.}

Daphne was gobsmacked, like I have told her completely about my mage sight, and she knows a few of its functions like magic reserves of a function and the ability to see magic and also my healing powers. Except that I haven't told her about anything else, and she knows what I am implying. She can probably be the strongest one in this school right after Dumbledore.

Daphne: {I am going to befriend her and see what her deal is.}

Solaris: {You can do that, but be cautious about it and don't be very skeptical about it. There are many things I might not know, and she is just unique.}

Daphne just nodded her head and started eating her seventh serving of pudding. 'I need to control her, or she will go all day without eating anything besides pudding, and nobody can stop her here. She knows she can get away from me by a very lethal move that she and her sister have mastered the puppy dog eyes.' Anyway, I stopped thinking about Morag and focused on my dinner, and after the feast was over, Dumbledore stood up to make an announcement, "I must tell you that this year, the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful death." He then announced not using magic in the hallways and corridors and avoiding the forbidden forest. I noticed Harry's magic flared a bit when he heard about the corridor, probably thinking about a great adventure awaiting.

We were told to go to our dorm rooms, and our house prefect, Penelope Clearwater, led us. Upon reaching our dorm, our prefect answered the riddle, and we went in. The first-year students were told to stay in the common room, where our house head, Professor Filius Flitwick, informed us about our schedule:

Breakfast is at 7:30 am till 8:50 am.

Lunch is at 11:45 am till 12:45 pm.

Dinner is at 7:35 pm till 8:35 pm.

While there is no set 'Lights Out', I have the student in bed by 10:00 pm

Most of our classes will be with Hufflepuff, with only a few with Slytherin and only Charms with Gryffindor.

After that, we were assigned two per room. I shared with Terry, Anthony with Stephen, and Michael with Kevin. For the girls, Daphne with Lisa, Morag with Mandy, and Su with Padma. After settling in, Terry literally dropped dead; he hopped on the bed and just went to sleep. The rest of the boys were in our room for a bit of chat. How fast he became unresponsive. Stephen ran over to check and was relieved, telling us he is just sleeping. We really thought he was dead. After that, we all decided that it was time to go to bed.

I talked with Daphne a bit and admitted to her that I am probably not going to have a very good sleep considering I was very used to sleeping and cuddling with her. She probably blushed, and she stopped talking. After about a minute, I felt that I was forgetting something. Oh, that's right; I didn't finish my rant. So where was I? Oh yeah, 'but the universe decided, nah, you will learn about the inheritance of one of the founders and just rack your brains about it.' Like that basterd hat didn't have any business saying that to me. I was about to become an Asian and say, 'I WILL SEND YOU TO JESUS.' And after ranting and tiring myself out, I went to sleep.
