chapter 10 : New school year

During the month leading up to the start of the school year, Harry experienced the happiest time of his life, it was like a dream and he prayed every day not to wake up in his old bed.

He had fully integrated into the house and he and Ginny had become Molly's favorites. They had legalized Harry's tutoring at the Ministry of Magic and it had made headlines with the Weasleys once again.

He and Ron had made one thing clear, Harry had asked him why Ron or Hermione hadn't sent him any letter and that had upset Ron because he had sent several letters to Harry.

They figured it was the Dursleys' work.

He was introduced to Fred and George's pranks but blushed enormously in front of Ginny, who was even more beautiful than in the movies.

He had a lot of fun with Ron although Ron often went to meet Luna with whom he walked and chatted while eating the cookies she had made for him.

Back to school came and they had to go buy this year's supplies at Diagon Alley.

For this, the family always used the fireplace to get there, it left a little ash on them but they found it amusing, they had not abandoned their old habits.

In front of the fireplace, the family was there and it was Percy who left first after taking some floo powder.

"Diagon Alley" He said as he threw the powder at his feet and a large green flame engulfed him before he disappeared.

Harry: Wow!

Molly: Come on Harry, it's your first time so go ahead. Above all, throw the powder on the ground well and speak loudly and clearly.

Harry nodded and went to take the powder but Ron held his arm.

Ron: What is the formula you should say?

Harry gave a bad formula and Ron congratulated himself on his caution. 

Ron: No Harry, it's Diagon Alley. Don't be mistaken, dude.

"Thanks Ron" Harry took the powder and did as Ron told him and left. On the other side, Percy waited for him and the others followed him.

They went directly to the store "Floorish and Blotts" where they wanted to buy books and to everyone's astonishment, there were a lot of people there because of a man, Gilderoy Lockhart who was boasting of his novels before a won over female audience.

Molly was a fan of this man but the boys hated him and thought he was boastful. They met Hermione there and Ron let Harry talk to her as someone tugged on his coat behind, he turned around and Luna was there.

Luna: If I knew we would have come together.

Ron: You came all alone?

Luna: No, dad went to do some shopping.

There was a commotion inside as Lockhart who had spotted Harry Potter immediately took pictures with him and started bragging about it, Ron ignored them.

Ron: Luna, don't you want to go out? There are too many people.

Luna: Okay.

They stood outside talking and Ron's cat jumped from who knew where to settle on his shoulders.

Luna: I'll never know where this cat comes from every time, he's definitely not normal, a bit like you.

Ron: Vile flatterer...! Do you want to go have some fairy dust ice cream? I invite you.

Luna: I would like to, yes.

There was a new commotion inside and he looked to see Lucius Malfoy, Draco's father grabbing Harry's face to look at the mark on his forehead.

"Don't move from there my dear, I'll come back to you right away" He said before entering the store.

 « My dear…? » Luna whispered, turning away her slightly red face.

Ron once inside looked at Fred and nodded at him, his brother responded with a smile.

Ron: My God, someone do something!!! This man, this grown man, is touching young Harry Potter in a strange way without his consent!!! SIR PLEASE LET GO OF MY FRIEND WHOEVER YOU Are !!

Everyone immediately turned to the scene and Lucius hastily and suspiciously let go of Harry's face but everyone had already seen him and they started whispering as the photographer even took a photo.

Draco: Weasley!

Ron: Malfoy, my lifelong friend, are you there?!!! But this suspicious man looks like you wait...it's your father who acts like this in public ???!!! Ah my poor friend!

Draco wanted to answer but his father placed his cane on his chest to ask him to be quiet.

Lucius: You think you're smart, young man?!

Ron: And you, you think it's okay to touch other people's children like that ?! You have a wife right?! What if we did it to Draco here?! This is why it is said that Slytherins are sometimes criminals.

As if it were a signal, Fred placed a hat on Georges' head...

Fred (Sorting hat): Huuuuuummmmm which house should I send you to huh?! Let's see…

George: I'm a Malfoy, I want to go to Slytherin. 

Fred (Sorting Hat): Slytherin uh! Okay, very good! AZKABAN!!

They started laughing and the whole audience laughed, even Hermione turned around to laugh.

Lucius wanted to get angry but Arthur intervened.

Arthur: So Lucius, are we quarreling with children?

Lucius: Arthur, it seems that your recent fortune has made your children arrogant.

Arthur: Arrogant?! What bout your brat who came looking for Quarrels for one of my sons (Harry)?! Did you think we were going to let you and your son persecute one of us? (He looked at Harry and winked).

Lucius sniffed before taking the book that Ginny had in her Cauldron.

Lucius: At least now you buy quality things for your children, it seems new to them. You look less…pathetic!

Ron: I think it's the dark mages who are pathetic.

Lucius immediately turned to look at Ron with a menacing look.

Lucius: Be...very careful...what you say little Weasley...

Ron: Why this reaction?! Are you a dark mage, Mr. Malfoy?!

Lucius sniffed again before leaving with his son while Ron gave his brothers a thumbs up before returning to Luna outside.

Luna: Do you know you can be scary sometimes?

Ron: Am I scaring you? I'll be afraid that you'll be afraid of me...

Luna: I didn't say that (blushes)

Hermione wanted to go out to see Ron found her with Luna and she went back inside.

Two days later, they were at the station and late to catch the train. Fred, George, Percy and Ginny crossed the stone wall and Ron asked Harry to go through but as soon as he wanted to go through, the wall was became compact to everyone's shock.

Ron touched the wall and it was compact too. Arthur, Molly and even Luna were confused when the signal for the train to leave sounded.

Harry: What's going on? Why don't we pass?!

Ron: I have no idea but it's starting to annoy me!

Molly: Arthur...?

Arthur: They missed the train. I don't know why the passage closed.

Luna: Ron...

Ron: Don't worry, we'll get to school on time. (looks at his father) Dad, can I borrow your car?

Arthur: Oh I see! Good idea son and above all be careful (throws the keys)

Molly: Arthur NO!

Arthur: It's okay darling, Ron is an even better driver than me with the bewitched car. They will arrive quickly and if the School complains then we will report the problem we saw. Hurry up, children. And Ron, don't be seen.

Ron and the others quickly joined the black car and he went to the driver's seat with Harry next to him and Luna in the back.

Ron: Put on your seat belts, quickly.

Harry: Do you know the route to school?

Ron: A little, and we'll just have to follow the train. Don't worry, I drive better than my father and I have strengthened the car's enchantment.

Luna: Don't worry Harry, Ron drives very well. He always takes me for walks near the clouds.

He first started the invisibility reactor before taking off the car which took off from the ground to move through the air and it was much faster and more maneuverable than the iconic blue car in the films (We Still Love You little blue car 😢).

They quickly caught up with the train and followed it for a while, it was rather stable and the children had a lot of fun and fortunately they had a little to eat.

Later when they arrived in an area that Ron recognized, he left the train route to cut through and they quickly arrived at the school well before anyone else.

After landing perfectly on the ground, Ron and Harry unloaded the luggage and he gently patted the roof of the car.

"You can go home sweetie" he said to the car as it took off to leave.

They dropped off their bags at the Hall and wore their robes before calmly waiting for the others while eating sweets while Ron was busy telling them jokes to make them laugh.

The others found them there and wondered how they had done it and remembered seeing a black car flying near the train.

Hermione: I looked for you on the train! The black car was you?!

Ron: It's a long story! (yawns) I've been driving too much and now I'm sleepy.

Luna: Big lazy guy.

Harry: In any case, we had fun and Luna is right Ron, you really sleep too much!

Ron: Only you knew...

They went with the others to attend the sorting ceremony, the back-to-school banquet and they were very happy to welcome Ginny to Gryffindor that night.
