Evelyn was seated in her office at the beach house biting her lips in anxiousness. She had this unsettling feeling that something very unsettling was happening. She did not like that one bit. Ever since she can remember her confidence brought everything she ever wanted to her feet. She had all the power she could ever ask for. She was the ‘Madrina’ after all. Yet, even she knew it could all go away in a blink of an eye if she let her guard down like she did for what seemed like many lifetimes ago.

Mateo was drilling her at different hours of everyday, however today he did not call. Not once. She did not know whether to feel relieved or worried. Him and his men were trying to track where Christopher was located because everyone knew wherever he was, she was right there with him. She did not know what to feel in regards to the fact that Angelo was back. He was the only man who ever made her happy really, he was the only person she ever let her guard down around and she regretted it.
