Chapter 75: Sharing the Past

Carissa suddenly regretted her decision to go shopping with Bradley's sister. But she wasn't going to back out on her plans, even if that meant leaving when things were just starting to heat up.

She climbed off Bradley, and his groan wasn't nearly as enticing as it had been a second ago. She gave him an apologetic smile. "Sorry."

"Don't be." He swung his legs over the side of the sofa and sat up. "We have all weekend. Besides, we agreed to see where things went, remember? Clearly, this wasn't meant to happen right now."

Leaning over, she placed a soft kiss on his lips. He really was such an amazing guy, and as guilty as she felt about leaving Danny to deal with his sick father on his own, she didn't regret choosing to be here with Bradley.

A knock sounded on the door, and Carissa straightened.

"At least she had the decency to knock this time." Bradley stood and answered the door.

Beth breezed inside with a vibrant smile. "I didn't interrupt anything, did I?"
