CHAPTER 24

"Amazing." Bruce said as he paced back and forth through the bat cave.

"Once again, Arkum can't handle two more criminals." He began preparing his newly made weapons. "Looks like I'm going to have to deal with you my own way." He said as he put on his gloves.

Meanwhile, the Cobblepot mansion was full of misfortune...

Ivy's hands began to shake still feeling a loss of control. "Y-you need to calm.. down r-red..." Harley tried to tell her.

"I know, I... I'm trying!! Nothing is working! Quinn, I'm so sorry I didn't mean for this to happen. I guess I didn't know as much as I thought I did..." She said.

"Yeah i-it's fine, I kn-know that was h.. hard for you to a-dmit." She struggled to smile. "Breathe, j-just focu-s.."

Ivy shut her eyes as tight as she could. She let out a breath. She opened her eyes and you could almost see a glimpse of the tears fogging in them. "You're the one who needs to breathe Quinn! How can you act like this when you could die? Y- you're being so..." She paused.

"So.. w-what?" Harley asked.

"Selfless. You're so selfless.. why?"

"I.. don't kn-know." She coughed out.

"I meant what I.. said. I do l-love you.." She added.

Ivy sighed once again. She fixed her posture and put on a firm face. She stuck out her other hand and watched as they both were shaking. "I can do this." She said.

She looked at Harley as she clenched her teeth. Harley could see that Ivy was in pain. She didn't even focus on herself. Just Ivy.

"I need you..." Ivy whispered. "AHHH!!" She screamed as she felt tears pour out of her eyes. But instead of tears it appeared red.

"Ivy y-you're.." Harley began to cough more and more she could hardly speak. "Blood?!" She managed to yell out.

"Damn it! It's not working!" Ivy shouted. She finally ran to Harley and grabbed the vine. She pulled, scratched, and even punched it. She could mostly see the red covering her eyes.

She got off, looked at Harley with a daring look. "I know what to do." She said as she ran away.

"I-Ivy! Wh-what are you..." She coughed some more. Until she couldn't breathe at all.

The fear flooded her eyes. But so did a pinch of relief. She closed her eyes. "Well this is it. Looks like I'm gonna die. At least it was by the person I love..." She had thoughts racing through her mind. She opened her eyes to see Ivy standing only fifteen feet away. She was holding a sharp knife.

"I'm sorry." She spoke only loud enough for Harley to hear her. She stuck the knife in the air and turned it around penetrating her stomach area. She fell to the ground a second later along with her vine.

Harley was released taking in all the air that could fill her lungs as she rushed over to Ivy.

"Ivy you idiot! Why couldn't you just let me die?!" A tear flowed from her cheek dropping onto Ivy's.

"Because... I- I love you too." She smiled as she closed her eyes, slowly drifting off.

"Ivy? Ivy?! NO!!" Harley screamed.
