Harlequin's POV

I cooked the batter till it was golden brown on both sides and transferred it unto a paper towel. I repeated the process until I got to the last Blini, I kept pondering on what Kira had said.

I couldn't even remember my birth name so how the hell could I have known how to cook the Blinis. I was so lost in thought that I didn't realize when my right hand grazed the hot pan and I shrieked.

"Are you hurt? What happened?" Kira who had been taking a break, asked as she came running into the kitchen. "My hand." I said, tears flowing down my cheeks as I looked at my burnt hand that hurt like hell and was turning purple.

Kira took me to the room and cleaned the burn very gently before softly applying some ointment.

"I shouldn't have allowed you into the kitchen, now I'll get shouted at." Kira grumbled. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I was just a little distracted." I apologized. "It's alright, get some rest." She said helping me lie on the bed. I couldn't sleep a wink, the burn was too painful but after some time, the pain eased and I started feeling better.

As I was about getting up from bed,the door threw open and Dimitri came in,his anger was written boldly on his handsome face.

"I leave you on your own for only a few days and you go ahead and hurt yourself." He queried. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to trouble you. I only wanted to make you some Blinis." I apologized.

"That's why there's a maid." He said sternly. "I know that but I just wanted to do something nice for you. Ever since we've met,I've only caused you trouble so I wanted to make it since it's your favourite, just to say thank you for everything." I said solemnly.

"You really didn't have to but thanks anyway." he said touching my cheek warmly, I smiled seeing he was happy.

"Since you've gone through a lot of stress to make it, I'll eat only if we eat it together." He told me and my smile widened. "Of course, let's eat." I said and he helped me up. We both left to the dinning table where Kira served the Blinis with different toppings.

Dimitri had his with cooked, ground meat while I had mine with chocolate sauce."Are you sure you can eat on your own or should I feed you? "Dimitri asked.

As wonderful as being fed by him sounded, I was too shy to accept."It's OK ,I can eat on my own." I said knowing it would be hard since I had only my left hand in useful service right now. I tried to prove that I didn't need any help but my attempts failed miserably as I ended up making one Blini land on the floor. I gave a frustrated sigh as Dimitri struggle to muffle his laughter. "You're one cute girl, always trying to prove you can do things on your own when you really can't. Do you need my help now?" He asked cockily.

I sighed in defeat and accepted. "Yes." I admitted and he drew closer to me,taking the fork from my hand and neatly cutting the pancake before dipping it in a little chocolate sauce and he then fed it to me.

I had to admit that it tasted delicious and I couldn't help but feel extremely proud of myself. I've cooked for the first time in this house and it came out wonderful, though with a little consequence of it's own,via my burnt hand.

He kept feeding me but didn't fail to eat as well. He alternated between feeding me and himself and for some weird reason, I just felt that the Blinis tasted a lot better because he was feeding me.

The food was so delicious that I over ate. "That was one heck of a meal." Dimitri said. "You liked it?" I asked unsure of what he meant. "Liked it? I loved it! You'll make it again sometime but I'll be there to make sure you don't get hurt." He said and I blushed.

Kira cleared the table and Dimitri took me to my room. "I have something to show you." He said and dipped a hand into his pants pocket, bringing out a beautiful ring.

"Do you recognise this?" He questioned holding the ring in front of me. I took a good look at the ring and I started having those dark flashbacks again. They're people in a place and a boy seemed to be placing a ring on a girl's finger but no matter how hard I tried, the faces didn't show clearly, my efforts only caused me a bad headache.

I held my head and gasped. "Are you alright?" He questioned. "No,I'm scared. I'm seeing dark images and I think it's about my past. Certain things just become familiar and as hard as I try,the visions only become darker and scarier." I cried out and he took me in his arms in a warm embrace, patting my back softly.
