21 Yuuki’s Plan & Comfort.

The downpour finally stopped. . .

Yuuki and Mai were leaving the school building, but it was still quite chilly.

Luckily for Mai, she was wearing Yuuki's jacket.

Yuuki held the umbrella up for them as they walked.

While the rain had stopped pouring down, it was still a little drizzly, so he kept holding up the umbrella just in case.

Mai looked at him. "You don't have to go through all this stress, you know. I don't think the rain will fall anymore."

Yuuki nodded. "Yeah, but I wouldn't want rainwater touching your hair... it gets a little itchy."

Mai giggled and edged closer to Yuuki until her slender arms were wrapped around one of his.

There was some redness on her cheeks, and she looked very satisfied.

"Well..." she paused, "I'm just happy we get to be together again."

A small smile appeared on Yuuki's face, and he just nodded.

Good... it seems everything worked out as planned.

Yuuki's plan was a simple one.

The moment he observed Mai for a day, it seemed like there were no liminal spaces where his plans could successfully take off.

However, when Haga got added to the equation, it made everything completely easier for him.

His first action took place the same day he observed Mai, yesterday, where he went to two different places between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

That required him to leave Ryota in order to successfully carry out Phase 1. . .

First, he went to Class 1-A just to confirm Haga Kou's class, and next, he went to Class 2-B so he'd be aware of Tomita's class as well.

Phase 2: he got a paper and wrote, pretending to be Haga who was ready for Tomita to have her body.

Since Tomita was a desperate young adult guided by his hormones, Yuuki realized if he, being Haga, picked a meeting place, Tomita would be fine with it provided there was a valid reason for it──making the AV Room the number one option considering it blocked out sound and would allow "them" to do things without getting caught.

After planting the letter, Yuuki carried out Phase 3, which was making sure he and Mai were on romantic terms before Phase 4.

It was a known fact women were more likely to desire a man after he rejected them, but what was a fact to people was a fundamental law to Yuuki as he was now the walking definition of that with the Harem Rejection System.

After Yuuki established some romance between him and Mai, while also tempering her love meter a bit, he had the advantage of time.

They would both go home, and Yuuki would wait, allowing the memory of their sensual kiss to soak into Mai's memories and heighten her excitement even more.

Forcing her to become even more romantically involved.

Phase 4 started the moment Yuuki arrived at school the next day, and his plans were already falling into place.

At 8:45 a.m., Tomita would finish sleeping with his teacher-friend, and he'd encounter the letter at his desk.

Somewhere around 8:50 a.m., Yuuki would have already met with Mai, and the romance from yesterday would continue in an implied manner.

Another purpose of the kiss was so he wouldn't need to explain anything.

Talking to a woman was like navigating a field of landmines──any word could set them off, but they appreciated action.

Yuuki estimated it would take at least 10 minutes for Tomita to consider the letter before he made a move on Haga, which was confirmed at 9:08 a.m. when Yuuki was with Mai and saw Tomita walking down the hallway past Class 1-C.

That was all he needed to know to confirm that his plan was proceeding as planned.

The moment Haga was threatened by Tomita, Yuuki was a bit unsure if Tomita would discover that the letter was a fake.

However, he relied on the personality traits of the two to help him deduce his plans properly.

Haga was submissive, so she'd never speak, and Tomita was dominant and full of himself, so he'd never ask.

Next, the hardest half of Phase 4 and the most painful for Yuuki was making sure Mai didn't even catch a glimpse of Haga.

Since she'd be so occupied with him, he was certain he could keep her attention until the right time.

He knew Haga felt safe near Mai, so if Yuuki became an obstacle, her path to peace would be gone, and all that'd be left was self-destruction.

She was too fragile to dare interrupting Mai's precious time with her boyfriend. . . after all, Mai would never do that to her unless necessary.

That was the pivotal moment Yuuki needed──for her to cave and succumb to Tomita's demands.

Then came Phase 5. . .

There were two parts to it.

The first part was that he'd lose Mai's attention and plant a letter claiming to be Haga and that she's decided to go to the AV Room and surrender her body to him.

Now, this would shift a fair amount of Mai's focus from Yuuki, allowing him to leave at 2:50 p.m. to Class 2-B where he'd meet Tomita.

There, he'd tell Tomita that if he really wanted to sleep with Mai, then he'd need to make sure he had back-up in case of Mai Takahashi, considering she Haga could've already told her everything.

Tomita had his doubts, but after being convinced there was nothing Yuuki was gaining out of this other than just wanting to be friends with a popular guy like Tomita who was on the Track Team, Tomita decided to ask for more advice.

Yuuki advised him to carry a taser, or at least anything that'd be able to hold down a strong lady like Mai.

At 3:05 p.m., both Yuuki and Tomita would respectively exit the class within seconds of each other.

While Mai finding him spoiled his plans a bit, as she was supposed to be focused on saving Haga, Yuuki played along and turned this disadvantage into an even better advantage.

He used up some of Mai's time because it would increase the chances of Tomita getting everything arranged before Mai would come to see a beaten-up Haga, which would spark her anger.

Phase 6 started the moment Mai realized she was supposed to be saving Haga.

Yuuki would use this time to return to the class and retrieve his umbrella, which was also required for Phase 8.

After Mai would try to save Haga and fail due to the information Yuuki gave Tomita, Phase 7 would begin.

Yuuki would step in like a white knight to save both Mai and Haga.

Since he picked the AV room, no one would know what was happening inside, so everything was clear for Yuuki's plans.

After defeating Tomita and his gang, it would have checked all the boxes.

Phase 8 was something Yuuki had planned before any of the other phases of his plan.

Yesterday, around 4:00 p.m., he asked Ryota for the time rain would fall tomorrow, and he told him it would be around this time.

So, Yuuki knew to bring an umbrella.

He made sure he timed the events to take place before 4:30 p.m.

After Haga left, and shortly after, the rain started falling, Yuuki took the initiative to do romantic things like putting his coat over Mai and sheltering her under his umbrella──things that would make her picture him as the perfect man to give her everything.

Another thing the rain did was persuade them to stay back in school──the best place to do anything they wanted without getting in trouble, especially since the rain blocked out all the noises and there were no club activities.

With Yuuki being loving, giving her all his attention, saving her when things seemed dark, and caring for her after everything, it was simply as if the cards had been drawn since the moment the system made Mai his target.

There was a small frown on Tanaka's face.

I don't like doing this, but it's not like the system gives me a choice... still, as long as Mai's safe with me, everything's okay.

Finally, Yuuki returned home, looking so exhausted as if he'd pass out.

"Nothing good ever comes from focusing on a woman for more than 24 hours..."

He arrived at the door of his family house and twisted it open.

The moment he set foot inside, he was greeted by Sanda and Erosa, who were dressed like hula dancers.

Erosa then slapped his butt, shocking Yuuki.

"Alright, welcome to the Tanaka Special Resort!"

She showed him the flowers spread everywhere and even a chair decorated for him to sit down and enjoy some television.

Even his console was set up so he'd enjoy himself to the fullest.

Soon, Akihiko stepped out of the kitchen, also dressed like a hula dancer.

"Haha! My son's home!"

He was holding a tray of freshly baked cookies.

Akihiko bent down to rest the tray on the table and the coconut bras immediately snapped.

Yuuki covered Sanda's eyes and Erosa covered her own eyes.
