1 Reincarnation.

As John Doe's eyes fluttered open, he realized that he was floating in an empty void. "Where am I?" He wondered out loud. Suddenly, his gaze settled on a figure seated on a throne before him. Their entry into the scene was as graceful as a swan's dance. Her colorful hair fluttering like a gust of wind. John couldn't believe what he was seeing, a beautiful goddess was actually standing in front of him. Her name was Nuvelia, the goddess of reincarnation. Her skin glowed ethereally, and her golden eyes twinkled like the stars above. John felt a wave of awe wash over him as he struggled to comprehend the situation. Nuvelia spoke up, "John, I'm here to perform the 9,452nd reincarnation ceremony."

"Motion carried.." the voices of the Outer Gods rang.

John tried to speak but was too stunned to form words. The only sound he could muster was a pathetic squeak. Nuvelia gave him a curious look which awakened him from his stupor. "What's going on here?" John asked, trying to sound brave. "You are here for your next life, John," replied Nuvelia matter-of-factly.

John looked around the place and saw emptiness. Absolutely nothing. He put up his hand like an eager school kid. "What's happening here? Please tell me!" he asked with respect. Nuvelia raised an eyebrow, "Why do you need to raise your hand, John? There's no one else here."

John looked embarrassed. "I heard some voices of tough guys," he admitted, feeling his cheeks burn with shame. "I don't wanna get beaten up on the first day of my new life!"

Nuvelia shook her head and chuckled softly. "You're safe here, John, you don't gotta worry about being bullied. Now the ceremony, shall we?"

"Umh..."

John's mind was a jumbled mess of confusion and vertigo. He rubbed his temples as he tried to make sense of where he was and what was happening. As he looked around the empty void, his eyes settled on a figure seated on a throne before him. "Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, who are you?" John asked the figure hesitantly, still not quite sure if this was all a dream or reality.

The figure before him chuckled softly. "I'm Nuvelia, the goddess of reincarnation," she replied with a smile. John's eyes widened in disbelief.

What the fuck was he hearing.

The number one thought that crippled into his mind.

John's eyebrows raised in alarm, "You said something about next life, but I don't remember dying!" he exclaimed, his voice rising with panic. Nuvelia gave him a compassionate look and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

"Relax, John, you don't have any memory of dying because you haven't had the chance to live your life yet," Nuvelia explained, her voice soothing and gentle. "You were supposed to be the healthiest child, with the most promising future of becoming the next president of Japan. But, unfortunately, fate had other plans for you."

John's eyes bulged in surprise.

Again, what the fuck was he hearing?

"What happened?" he asked, eager to know the truth.

Nuvelia took a deep breath and began, "Well, when you were born, your parents couldn't have been more proud of you. However, on your way home from the hospital, they stopped to get some ice cream, and in the meantime, they left you in the car alone."

John raised an eyebrow, "What does that have to do with anything?" he asked, feeling a bit peeved at the tangent Nuvelia was going off on.

Nuvelia chuckled softly, "Oh, John, you have no idea. You see, my apostle, the mythical Caucasian semi-truck, made a regrettable mistake and hit your parents' car instead of the car just after theirs."

John's jaw dropped open in disbelief, "What? Why would he do that?" he asked, his mind racing with unfortunate scenarios.

As he was trying to adjust to the situation, he finally noticed a shadow slowly approaching him. Before he could say anything, a massive semi-truck came to a screeching halt and out came an apologetic driver.

"I'm so sorry for your loss," Truck said, looking at John. "It wasn't intentional, I was just a bit drunk, and I messed up the calculations. You were supposed to be the next big thing, I was supposed to hit the car two spots ahead of yours."

John raised an eyebrow, perplexed. "Calculations?" he asked, feeling a bit uneasy at the thought.

Nuvelia smiled amusedly. "Truck-kun has to make sure that his hits look like accidental deaths," she clarified, with a chuckle.

John's confusion only grew. "Why would you need to do that?" he blurted out in shock.

Nuvelia shrugged her shoulders, then turned to Truck. "You see, John, we have our ways of taking care of things. You don't need to worry about it. Just call it plot convenience."

Truck apologized yet again, then announced that he had to leave. John asked where he was headed, curious about what was next.

Truck replied, "Oh, you know, just to run over someone with a bright future. I've got ten minutes, and I can't be late."

John's face fell, and he sighed dramatically. Another day in the afterlife, he supposed.

Nuvelia gave a thoughtful hum and asked, "So, Mr. John Doe, are you ready for your reincarnation ceremony?"

"I-I am!" he shouted.
