28 Chapter 28

"I think there is a room ahead at the end of this tunnel. It might even be a labyrinth trap" I told Roxanne while looking at the dead end.

"Master, labyrinth traps are dangerous. Especially for such a new labyrinth whose Search and Declaration Order is not out yet. It will mostly definitely be a Demon's Den" Roxanne warns me while sniffing around trying to find any new scent.

"I am counting on it" I grin at the prospect of so much exp.

Demons are formed in the Labyrinth anywhere and then they start to move around. But sometimes there are special rooms in which the Demons get stuck and with time they will increase in number inside as they can't get out. This kind of trap can have more than 30 Demons stuck inside a small room. Not only newbies, even experienced Explorers can die in such a trap.

That's why Explorers wait for the Search and Declaration Order. When that order is issued, it means that the First Floor of Dungeon is cleared of these traps. Mostly this clearance is done by the local Knight's group.

Even after clearing it out once, it needs regular 'cleaning' or else the demons may accumulate in these rooms again.

People, even after knowing its dangers, still go to these rooms because there is a chance of finding treasure chests inside.

"If its a Demon's room let's clear it out" I tell Roxanne excitedly

"Leave it to me Master, I will go inside and clear it for you" She replied while taking a step forward ready to charge alone inside the room.

"No we don't have to go inside, we will lure them out and kill them all" I stopped Roxanne as there was no need to take risks.

These kinds of rooms are a problem because of the high density of demon's inside. And most of all because there are no skills which can be used on multiple targets at once. The only Job which can target multiple demons is Wizard, that's why people are crazy about it.

I open Job settings and adjust the jobs a bit

Set Job: Thief Level 5, Hero Level 2, Explorer Level 4, Wizard Level 2, Monk Level 1]

We defeated 2 enemies with 400x and so many of my Jobs have leveled up. Thief went from 3 to 5, Explorer went from 3 to 4, Wizard went from 1 to 2, Warrior went from 1 to 3 and Hero didn't level up at all.

I removed Warrior and added Monk so that I can use its Heal skill if needed during the fight ahead. I add a single point to weapons and Gram appears in my hand.

"Here Roxanne, for this fight use this sword" I take Roxanne's scimitar from her and give her Gram.

"But Master this is your sword" She replies while looking at me doubtfully

Even though I know she won't be comfortable using a two-handed sword, for the battle ahead we just need more firepower.

"Just take it, I can make more with my Power" I reassure her and put the scimitar and her shield in the backpack. Then I add a single point to the now deactivated Equipment option and a new Gram appears in my hand. Roxanne looks curiously at the sword in her hand and the one in my hand.

Looking into the reset screen I add one point towards the Bonus Spell Warp. Warp is the advanced spell for teleportation.

Now there are 2 types of teleportation or movement spells in this world. The first type is used by Explorers, it is the skill called Dungeon Walk. Using Dungeon Walk the explorer is able to summon a portal in a wall which looks like a black door. Through that Portal, the explorer and his party can go to any place inside the Labyrinth he has once been to, even across the floors.

There are many restrictions on using this skill, first you can't use it to go to a place where there are demons nearby. Second you can't use it outside the labyrinth, Third you can't use it while you are fighting Demons.

It's because of this spell that there is one Explorer outside of each labyrinth, they are there to join the party and take them to the requested level.

The second type of teleportation skill is Field walk with its own limitations. It is a skill from the Adventurer's Job. It's odd that the Wizard Job doesn't have a teleport skill in this world.

"I have a Power which can let us teleport even when we are fighting demons. So if it gets very difficult during the fight, I will call you out. At that time you will have to abandon fighting demons and come to me. We can run away and heal ourselves and then come back to fight them again" I tell Roxanne the plan and then instruct her in a serious tone.

Yes, my Bonus spell Warp has no previously mentioned restrictions on it. It is superior to both of those skills.

I looked at my Magic Bracelet and it is at 100% once again. I am relieved to see that it charges on its own and its charging rate is also very fast.

This Magic Bracelet and Warp are my two fail-safes if things went dire.

Roxanne accepts my instruction with a nod. I then opened the level up reward for Thief Job.

There was suddenly a black box in my left hand. I opened the box, thinking maybe it is something different than what I read. But looking inside the box, my hope was shattered. There were tools inside the box which looked like they could be used to pick a lock.

I wanted to throw this box away, why would I ever need it! It wasn't as if I was really trying to be a thief. This was the first time the Level up reward system gave me something truly useless.

I kept the box inside the backpack, out of sight and out of mind.

I then refocused my attention on the task at hand. I had Gram on my right hand and my wand on the left. The original Michio was a lefty but I was a righty, maybe that's why I can use both the hands equally well with this body.

I take a step towards the end of the tunnel and told Roxanne to stay put for now.

Well it's not exactly confirmed that there are Demons inside the trap, it may be a room already cleared of demons by the knight's group. Roxanne though has a powerful sense of smell, even she can't smell someone on the other side of the dungeon wall.

Reaching the dead end, I pushed the odd looking wall a bit. As if I had activated a mechanism, the wall suddenly goes down inside the floor. And now in front of me was a small dark room.

I look at the gate of this room and see that it's still pretty wide. Looking inside the room I couldn't see anything but darkness.

But it's fine, I don't have to step inside the room to confirm if there are demons.

'Firestorm'

Just then sparks are seen inside the dark room and suddenly I can see 6 bodies of Needle Wood lit with fire just in front of me.

There are demons inside. Through the light from the fire, I could see that the room was just like a jungle, a forest filled not with trees but with Needle Wood. The room was filled to the brim with these demons.

Even though they are on fire they are still slowly moving towards me. The other demons who aren't affected by fire are also moving towards me.

I wait patiently and as soon as the demons come near the door of the room I run back towards Roxanne. Looking back I see that the door didn't close on its own, maybe because the demons are standing upon the door.

The gap from the wall is wide enough for only 3 demons to go through at once. I could see that behind these 3 demons were the 6 demons on fire still trying to approach us.

I was counting all this while in my head and before the new demons could get out of the room the 5 seconds were up and the 6 demons were not on fire anymore.

'Firewall'

I placed a Firewall in the center of the gate, it couldn't cover the whole entrance but it still wrapped the middle one whole and got half of the bodies of the 2 Needle woods on the side as well.

Now all the 3 front demons were on fire, and the six demons were pushing ahead despite the firewall still raging. Not wanting to give them any more chances, Roxanne and I rushed forward.

According to the earlier plan I was on the right and Roxanne on the left. With a horizontal swipe I slashed through the right demon and the center demon who both were covered in fire. With a poof of smoke both of them disappeared and the demons behind them came ahead through the firewall.

From the corner of the eye I could see that Roxanne had dealt with the Needle Wood on the left too with 2 strikes. Even if she is higher leveled than me, the Beast Warrior Job doesn't provide much improvements in strength, so she was able to defeat it in just 2 strikes because of the sword Gram.

I could have taught her the Brahim chant of the powerful skill Beast attack from her Job. But it's a very Magic heavy skill, not suitable for protracted battles at all especially when Roxanne is just at Level 6.

These 3 demons who just came through the firewall were the ones who had suffered firestorm before. I was counting the seconds in my mind so when they went through the firewall instead of attacking them with a sword I took my wand in my left hand and just on cue the firewall went out.

'Firestorm'

With a poof of smoke all 3 Needle wood demons in front of us fell down in smoke. They had taken the damage from 1 firestorm and the firewall, one more fire attack took care of them.

But the ones behind these three, who were also on fire were still alive. I absorbed Magic from the Bracelet as they came slowly towards the gate. Then with another swipe I took out 2 of them. Meanwhile Roxanne too easily took out one of them with 2 strikes again.

Even though we cleared all the Needle wood in front of us, we still didn't take a step forward. I could see more Needle woods coming towards the gate already. And I welcomed them with a firestorm.

There was no end to them, even though I knew they can't be endless, it sure felt like it. Forgetting the time we kept repeating the process mechanically. After every 3 spells I took Magic out of the Bracelet so that I don't have any negative thoughts distracting me right now in the middle of the battle.

If I could use my other Bonus spells then this would have been so much faster and easier. But I checked them out before the battle and I still couldn't use them at all, my Magic is still very low for casting such destructive Bonus spells.

After what felt like hours to me, demons stopped coming out of the room. I casted Firestorm, and I could feel that the magic was consumed but no one was set on fire. Even Roxanne said that she can't smell anyone.

Cautiously, Roxanne and I stepped over the heap of demon drops and went inside the room. As we entered the room, the door automatically closed behind us.

After checking every corner we were sure that the room was empty and there was not even a treasure chest found. But still looking at the Levels of my Jobs I laughed.

This was really a satisfying Power leveling session.
